BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am the owner of a small construction/carpentry company. We are in business since 2011.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire BaruzoTech Private Limited, and what were your goals?

BaruzoTech was originally hired to help us with some automation in an excel sheet. We basically needed an easy way to schedule employees. We did outgrow the excel sheet rather rapidly and needed a better solution. We originally looked for available solutions online but nothing worked for our needs. We reached out to BaruzoTech to help us find a solution.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We did decide on BaruzoTech due to the fact they helped us with our Google Sheets issues and were familiar with what we needed. BaruzoTech builds us a "UI" in GoogleSheets where it takes certain information out of the sheet, finds a pdf (which corresponds to the WO#), and also other key information for the employee working. It also collected, named, and stored pictures in drive as well as entered worked hours into an employee-specific Google Sheet

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

BaruzoTech was familiar with some of our needs and wants. We first had a "brainstorming session" to go deeper into the needs and wants. We set up a Google sheet to keep track of what needs and wants we had. Which got updated on a regular base to ask for upgrades or changes.

BaruzoTech started developing the app shortly after we agreed on the key factors, like the look, features needed, timeline, milestones, and so on. BaruzoTech kept us updated about developments and when key components were done and tested within the BaruzoTech team. We tested each phase on a provided server to make sure they work for us as expected and that there were no errors or issues. We were able to field test them after to collect feedback from our users about the feel or if features are needed/need to be changed to make them more user-friendly.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We directly communicate with one person, Kevin. He is one of the founders of BaruzoTech. I personally prefer to communicate with one person only.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We use the app now exclusively for scheduling, keeping track of progress, organizing job pictures as well as payroll. All jobs are organized with job numbers.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

BaruzoTech let us know how long it would take to deliver the next phase of the project and also kept us updated about the progress.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

BaruzoTech suggested changes/upgrades which could be done to improve the app even further. We would discuss if it makes sense to implement the changes. We almost took all suggestions since they were well thought through.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I personally don't think that anything could have been done differently besides the fact that I should have reached out for help much earlier. BaruzoTech was very quick to fix a bug when it was found.
