How did you select this firm and what were the deciding factors?

They were very friendly and they advertise that they offer great products and services for HR help all of the way from hiring documentation to coaching, terminations, etc.

They are a web based software program where you can keep all of your HR records, employment information, and employee files. They claim to offer HR consultation, but they only offer scripted answers

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

I worked with several account reps. and some other random people who answered phones or chats.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

They had a great idea in this software platform. It would have been so cool if they could have offered more personalized and consistent service.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

They often took a very long time to reply to us.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were very friendly. I appreciated that a lot.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Please don't waste your money. We are a small business and really were excited about having the HR help that we needed. We found that Bambee was very unresponsive when we actually had issues. You can chat in and get a canned response from a very friendly live person, but if you actually have any kinds of real HR issues, they will read you a script on what the law says and leave the rest to you to figure out. As for firing, if you need to move quickly to terminate an employee, please be prepared to have to wait at least 5-7 days for any paperwork for employees. We were transferred to several account reps. during our time at Bambee.

On a plus side, everyone there is very friendly. The problem is that they can't actually help you with the issues that you have. If you're looking for canned forms and canned answers this will work for you. But BEWARE because if you don't keep your files in their system for life, you will have to individually download every single note, I-9, Employee acceptance agreement, W4, signed policy, and every single bit of information that you enter on any employee.

We are transferring out of Bambee and I anticipate about 40 hours of work to download all files and I'm very tech. savvy. We've only been on Bambee a year but we kept very careful records. Overall, just beware. You definitely won't want to be stuck in the same position we were in. I'd like to help another small business owner.

How did you select this firm and what were the deciding factors?

We found them online and the salesman provided all kinds of promises that were never delivered.

After enrolling for a year (don’t worry, lesson learned – never again) our assigned HR Manager communicated to us that she would provide us with a job description the next day. After changing the date to the next day, then to the next week, the job description was finally delivered another day later than communicated.

While we registered for this service on April 14th, it wasn’t until May 3rd that we were assigned an HR Manager that actually provided any assistance to us. Because we had signed up less than 30 days after our new HR Manager was assigned to us, I requested a pro-rated refund effective the next day, on May 27th.

We didn’t hear back (surprise!) so we followed up a few times and were finally told on June 2nd that she would escalate my request to a supervisor. On June 10th, after not hearing a word back, I called the main Bambee phone number and left a message.

Still no communication. I was finally able to schedule a call with them for today, June 15th. Our entire experience with Bambee has been horrendous. They sell you on services they refuse to provide and then deny to issue any sort of refund. This company is not honorable and I caution any business against using them.

The outcome from my experience with Bambee is my desire to caution any other business from ever using them.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communication was terrible, even during my attempt to receive a refund. It took weeks to finally get a call!

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Not one single thing.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I recommend that they fulfill their promises and don't refuse clients who have been unhappy from the start a refund.

LeaseLock is an insurance technology company in the real estate industry. We replace security deposits for low-cost renters’ insurance. As director of strategic accounts, my role is to educate multifamily owners and managers on the benefits of our product.

Originally, we hired Bambee to write our policies and employee handbook. Eventually, their role expanded to other HR tasks.

How did you select this vendor?

I used to work for another company whose former CMO started Bambee. I looked into his services and recommended them to LeaseLock. Ultimately, the price point sold us. As a scaling startup, we needed affordable HR help right away.

Our dedicated HR Manager, Matt (HR Manager, Bambee), is in direct contact with all of our employees. Whenever disputes arise, Matt responds and advises us. He's written policies for sick leave, paid time off, social media, and HIPPA. He has helped us onboard about a dozen new employees, training them on our policies and introducing them to our employee handbook. Matt has also handled a few terminations as well as disputes and compliance issues.

They assigned one HR Manager dedicated to our account.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

I'm now hands-off on all HR-related issues, allowing me to focus entirely on my role.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Bambee is quick and efficient, with response times within three hours. When our employees have questions, they can communicate with Matt directly.

What did you find most impressive about this vendor?

I’m impressed with their knowledge of the real estate industry. Somehow, Matt was an expert in our space, knowing common laws and jargon.

Are there any areas for improvement?

It would be great if they can also administer benefits, although we have a separate vendor for that.

I hired Bambee to handle all our HR operations and issues for a monthly price of $99. I didn’t want to bring on an in-house HR manager, which usually costs around $4,000 each month.

What were your goals for this engagement?

Our project centered on federal, state, and municipal compliance. We needed to create an efficient onboarding process and compile a company handbook and policies. Lastly, we required a compliant method for terminations.

I highly value Bambee’s competitive price of $99 per month. I also appreciate the fact that they dedicated a real human HR manager for my company.

I wish they could handle payroll for me as well.

For HR they have been very helpful Yanique is awesome but we switched to their payroll services and I'm almost ready to switch back.

Multiple errors on our payroll. Deduction made post-tax after I specifically said pre-tax. The wrong SUI rate was used for my employees who were very upset. I was told employees could call themselves for issues saving me time, yet my staff said she was told she didn't have access to it. I've been trying to escalate to management since Monday with no response.

SOLUTION

How did you select this firm and what were the deciding factors?

Hired them for HR and thought having payroll accessible through the same app would be ideal for my employees. Left SUre payroll due to long wait time on phone and Bambee doesn't even have a phone. They are in a different time zone and they are not responding to my written requests since the issues began.

PAYROLL CUSTOMER SERVICE IN GENERAL. SHOULD HAVE CALL CENTER FOR CUSTOMERS AND BE AVAILABLE FOR ALL TIME ZONES.
