Since partnering with Avenue Z, we’ve seen consistent improvements across our core organic search KPIs. Organic traffic has increased year-over-year, with growth in both branded and non-branded search. We’ve also improved rankings across priority product-aligned keywords, expanding the total number of keywords in the top 10 search positions.Their recommendations have also contributed to improvements in site performance and crawlability, which we can see reflected in our technical health scores and monthly reporting.

Overall, the experience has been strong. If anything, it would be helpful to receive more competitive insights and benchmarking on how our performance compares to others in our category, especially as AI reshapes search behavior. Continued expansion into AI-search optimization strategies would also be valuable as the landscape evolves. But day to day, the team has been responsive, thoughtful, and easy to work with.

In May 2024, we partnered with Avenue Z to support our migration from Salesforce to Klaviyo as part of our company rebrand and migration to Shopify. Their initial scope of work included:

• Data migration and account setup
  Domain warming to ensure deliverability
  Maintaining Salesforce campaigns and account performance during the transition

Beyond the migration, Avenue Z also played a key role in our rebrand and retention strategy development, which included:

• A complete redesign of core email and SMS flows, including Welcome Series, Abandonment
• Flows, Out-of-Stock Alerts, Order Notifications (Shopify), Review Requests, and Loyalty Emails (Yotpo)
• A segmentation strategy to optimize how we managed and utilized customer data within Klaviyo
• Email and SMS campaign creation and management

Following the successful launch of our rebrand and new Shopify site with Klaviyo fully integrated, we completed this initial Phase 1 and transitioned into Phase 2—focused on expanding automated flows and refining our campaign and segmentation strategies.

Since then, I’ve continued to work daily with the Avenue Z team to enhance our flow suite, optimize retention tactics, and further improve our sign-up form strategy, which all remain core drivers of our retention growth and improvements.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The Avenue Z team has played a pivotal role in strengthening our retention marketing foundation and driving measurable growth across both email and SMS.

First, they successfully supported our company’s rebrand by managing a seamless migration from Salesforce to Klaviyo, including a carefully executed domain warming period to ensure strong deliverability. We’re now maintaining a deliverability score of 75, which Klaviyo categorizes as “Good” compared to benchmarks.

Avenue Z also redesigned, built and successfully launched all core email and SMS flows in alignment with our rebrand, capturing our updated brand design and voice consistently throughout the process.

Following the migration, the team helped drive a record-breaking Black Friday / Cyber Monday performance in Q4 2024, reaching our highest top-line performance yet, by leveraging advanced segmentation and strong promotional strategies to re-engage high-value leads and returning customers across email and SMS.

Since then, we’ve continued to see meaningful performance improvements, such as but not limited to:

• Sign-up form submission rates increased from an average of ~3.5% at Sept 2024 launch to now ~6%, driven by iterative testing and optimization.
• Abandoned cart save rate has more than doubled since our efforts to improve this metric began in May of 2025, due to flow improvements, incentive testing, and redesigns.
• Email engagement has strengthened significantly, with open and click rates improving by an average of ~10% over the past five months, supported by Avenue Z’s effective use of Klaviyo’s Reputation Repair Tool and enhanced segmentation strategy.
• Our active profile count (total subscribers) grew by 14.5% since September 2024, despite consistent list cleaning—reflecting healthy acquisition and retention growth.
• SMS subscribers increased by 75% since our Klaviyo launch in September 2024, driving higher channel revenue and establishing SMS as a key contributor to our retention program.

Avenue Z also took the time to deeply understand our customers, our unique medical products, and the behavioral nuances of the sleep therapy space. In industries as specialized as CPAP and sleep therapy, it often takes months for a partner to truly grasp the details—but Avenue Z did so remarkably fast. I was impressed at the start of our partnership, and I continue to be impressed today.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Avenue Z could have done differently?

The only area I’d highlight for potential improvement—though I recognize this may not fall entirely on Avenue Z—is campaign timeline management. At times, it felt like we were finalizing campaign emails too close to launch. My preference would have been to stay 1–2 weeks ahead on campaign design and approvals, allowing adequate time for discussion, creative alignment, and ensuring cohesive messaging across all channels.

Avenue Z was referred to us by one of our founders, who had a good experience with the team. We interviewed a few other teams to see our options, but we liked Avenue Z's references. We also liked that they were specialists in the fintech sector.

What is the status of this engagement?

The engagement lasted from June 2022–August 2024.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We saw a significant ROI from the partnership. The value they drove to our brand and recognition was incredible. The money we spent on the partnership was paid out threefold. We also saw an increase in site traffic and social media engagement. We were on over 200 publications and had about a dozen TV broadcasts. Overall, Avenue Z did a great job quantifying results. 

How did Avenue Z perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management was great. We had a good working relationship, and there was a lot of good follow-up. They were easy to work with, and we communicated through weekly meetings, Slack, phone calls, and texts. We used Google Documents to track weekly agendas and action items. Avenue Z sent those out to us via email so we followed up with them easily. 

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Libbie was super hands-on and stepped up when we needed her. She was always available and helpful and went above and beyond. She put together a world-class team and was an amazing resource.

Avenue Z was responsive and organized. They were specialists in the fintech sector, so they were familiar with the audience and message we were trying to convey.

No, there weren’t any.

The partnership is a two-way street — you get as much value as you put into it. For anyone looking to work with a PR agency, you can’t just sit there and let the team bring you opportunities. You might not see as much value from it. We found a sweet spot by bringing opportunities to Avenue Z and letting them vet and manage those opportunities. In other words, be actively engaged with what they bring to you. Be responsive when they have opportunities for you.

When I renewed my contract with Avenue Z, I tried to include a clause stating that Greg would be my account manager for as long as he worked with Avenue Z. We’re an aircraft manufacturing company that builds about eight different aircraft. I’m a digital marketing specialist, so I’m responsible for our website and maintenance.

What challenge were you trying to address with Designzillas?

Our previous website wasn’t user-friendly. Because we offer eight different products that suit various needs in the industry, we needed a way to tell a story about our products. Ideally, that would help customers find the right aircraft for their needs. At that time, we weren’t ADA or GDPR-compliant, so we needed to handle those legal issues as well.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We needed an interface that could easily be updated to accommodate the many changes we see with our products. Additionally, we needed a way to publish legal documents, technical publications, and other service bulletins on our site. So, the site had to be user-friendly for our customers, but also for our internal team. 

They redesigned the entire website and enhanced our SEO. Their team also made it both ADA and GDPR-compliant. Because we sell our products through dealers, they created a dealer and service center locator. They also introduced automation to our site, integrating APIs with the CRM that we use while creating aircraft. For instance, contacts that sign up for our newsletter immediately get sent to our database, so we don’t have to manually take care of that. 

What is the team composition?

Maddie (Account Manager, Designzillas) was our primary point of contact throughout the whole process. However, we worked with designers and developers who were most specialized at different points in the project. We worked with Marc (Web Developer, Designzillas) and Jonathon (Web Designer, Designzillas). Since the launch of the site, we also have been working with Amanda (Agile Project Manager & Scrum Master, Designzillas).  

How did you come to work with Designzillas?

I found them on Google after creating an RFP. They weren’t just on a search results page but listed as one of the top website developers in America. They had great reviews and were based in the same are. The proximity really encouraged me to reach out to them.

We’ve invested $70,000 in their work.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in August 2018. The site is officially launched, but we have them contracted for continuous maintenance and SEO work.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I don’t have specific metrics right now, but I’ve received extremely positive feedback from users. Our dealers are impressed with the clarity and navigability of the site. Our users’ ability to interact with the site helps our dealers during their sales process. We often hear that our website is being used for a quick reference because it’s easy to pull up for information. It’s fantastic on mobile devices, which wasn’t the case before. That’s been a huge improvement over what we had, in addition to its style and design.   

How did Designzillas perform from a project management standpoint?

Maddie has been very consistent throughout the project, but we’re able to contact more specialized team members as well. It’s been nice to have a clear contact for any and all of our questions. They use a project management system called Teamwork. That’s been beneficial because all of our messages are recorded, so I can reference conversations in meetings. We can upload files to them through the system as well. It keeps all of our communication in one place. It’s an easy platform to use.

In addition to the project management tools, Maddie was a thorough communicator. In addition to sending meetings notes after our weekly meetings, we still communicated multiple times each day about the project. Whenever we hit challenges, they’d provide recommendations that were often better than our initial plan. They’re very responsive through their internal communication system.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ability to collaborate and listen to our needs has really made a difference. In the event that it suits our needs, they’re open to change. They were accomodating, creative, and innovative.

We were happy with the design of the website but didn’t receive results of any significant value. From the minimal traffic we received, the conversions were good. But we bought the domain from another company, which meant we had search traffic from the get-go.

Also, their team lacked quality control measures. We received substandard work that we had to address in order for them to make necessary changes.

How did Designzillas perform from a project management standpoint?

The initial conversations went well. However, once we started development there was a disconnect with their team. The turnover of teammates caused lapses in progress and inefficiency. When we had any changes or asked them questions, it would take Designzillas a week or two to respond.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We weren’t impressed with anything besides the initial design. Since we haven’t engaged with any other providers, there’s nothing I could say that distinguishes them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Communication and quality control could definitely be improved. Due to their delayed responses, we wasted a lot of time.  

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don’t let too much time go by before hearing back from them. Stay on top of them to encourage efficiency.

I’m the marketing director of Sweetwater Episcopal Academy. We’re a co-educational, independent Pre-Kindergarten–8th Grade school. We offer academic excellence in a nurturing, Christian environment.

We needed to build a new website for our school that accurately conveyed our brand values and highlighted our unique offerings, separating us from the competition.

What were your goals for this project?

We wanted the site to act as an effective recruitment tool. Specifically, we wanted to increase the number of unique visitors to the site and increase the number of tours we give to prospective families.

We sent an RFP to several different web providers and narrowed the field to three. After interviewing each, Designzillas seemed to offer the best fit.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

They designed and developed a new website geared towards prospective parents rather than current families. It highlights interesting features of our school and its picturesque location. They also manage our SEO and will do so for one year to ensure all issues are addressed quickly.

What was the team composition?

We dealt with several teams throughout the process. During the initial phase, we dealt with their marketing director and director of accounts. Then, we were assigned a project manager who had a five-person team behind them. They worked on development, architecture, SEO, and content management.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

We’re only two months into the deployment of the new website, but we’ve already received five new families. They came to us directly through the website and we’ve been able to track their progress through our landing pages. We’re very excited with the results so far and expect inquiries and conversion rates to continue to grow.
