I am the founder and CEO of Academic Sequitur, a service that keeps academics up to date on recent research relevant to them.

For what projects/services did your company hire AvedSoft?

Our website design looked uninviting and outdated. I hired AvedSoft to re-design the landing page and overall look of the website. Ultimately, we also ended up changing some of the links/pages around.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I chose AvedSoft from hundreds of freelancers on Upwork. What attracted me was the look of the websites they had worked on before. They all had a very clean and professional look, exactly what I was looking for.

We first discussed what I did and did not like about the current look of the website (e.g., I liked some of the color scheme but thought it was too dark overall; I also did not like how the content was presented). AvedSoft then provided an estimate for how long the work would take to complete and how much it would cost. They then proposed a new design based on the discussion and we iterated a few times until we settled on the final one. AvedSoft then implemented the new landing page and changed the look of other pages to match. The blog was also redesigned. We also decided to change the links to the pages (e.g., academicsequitur.com/blog instead of blog.academicsequitur.com).

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

My main contact was a project manager who communicated with me; a developer did the actual work on the website. I'm not actually sure how many people were involved in total because I only interacted with the project manager. But I actually think that's a big plus because it made it very easy for me!

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The website (academicsequitur.com) now has a fresh new look that I am very happy with! The links to pages are now a lot more intuitive.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communication was very easy. All communication was through Upwork.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

As I expected based on examples of past work, the new website looked fantastic. Clean and modern, yet informative.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I found the AvedSoft team on the Upwork platform and chose it based on clients' history and feedback about the team. I also had several calls with the team managers as well as the CEO before the contract starts.

We started our cooperation with the design, development, and SEO of one of our sites. Further, several more contracts were opened, under which we collaborated with the AvedSoft team to support our other sites, their redesign, optimization, and other various tasks.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Clients usually love the new design and modifications. In particular, they find them to have intuitive navigation and are much faster to load.

We had weekly calls with a lead project manager and CEO of the team, as well as calls with staff if it was necessary. We use Upwork as a platform to manage our contracts.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Good communication, attentiveness to details. AvedSoft always tries to provide the best possible solutions according to the end client's budget and deadline.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We always discuss every point and I trust that team. If there any issues under the working process appear, they fix everything in a timely effective manner.

After implementation of the marketing plan and SEO improvements that the team offered we saw an increase in website traffic, conversions, and sales.
