What challenge were you trying to address with Avaans Media PR?

We recently launched into the next stage of evolution for our company, so we needed support in building brand awareness, targeting the correct media outlets, and aligning our strategy on how to best promote our company through different channels. We also launched a new solution called vTeam, so we also needed to promote it.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We hired Avaans Media PR to help us with brand awareness. Our initial project was around our new product, so they first created a high-level press release for vTeam. Then, they provided media training for our CEO, developed a strategy on how to pitch to the different media outlets, and helped us align on topical moments of marketing that could gain traction in a crowded environment. The team also helped us create content for different submissions.

We worked with Tara (CEO & Founder), Anu (VP of Media Strategy), and Megan (PR & Media Manager).

How did you come to work with Avaans Media PR?

 We found their team online while searching for potential agencies to onboard for this project. We chose Echobind because they had the skill set we needed, and they were flexible and easy to talk to from the start.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together on this project from April 2024–July 2024. The partnership is currently on pause due to our own evolution process. However, we would love to partner with them in the future.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Avaans Media PR did a wonderful job and was a wonderful partner for us. Although there was a mixed approach on how to measure success for this project internally, I thought that Avaans Media PR did a great jon trying to come up with different strategies and helping our CEO feel comfortable when interviewing for media outlets. Still, we rushed them into this process, and they needed more time to accomplish everything we had hoped for.

One of the measurable outcomes was the media placement. Avaans Media PR was able to get us a couple of key interviews, one of which was with the Cincinnati Business Journal. The other interview was an important conversation that we're still entertaining to this day. Although there wasn't an opportunity to tip the needle, their team did a great job helping us build our strategy.

How did Avaans Media PR perform from a project management standpoint?

Although things were ever-changing on our side, Avaans Media PR was very good at staying on track and delivering items on time. In fact, they actually guided us throughout the process.

Are there any employees from the service provider's team that you would like to give a shout-out to in this review?

Tara was a wonderful partner, and Anu and Megan were a pleasure to work with.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Avaans Media PR was very flexible and responsive to feedback, so they were able to intake our comments, process them, and readjust.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We never got into the rhythm of work with Avaans Media PR that we hoped we would get into. Although it wasn't necessarily their fault, I expected some outlandish, creative ideas. However, they didn't push the limits, although they weren't necessarily given the opportunity to do so.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Allow them their 2–4-week strategic ramp-up time.

What challenge were you trying to address with Avaans Media PR & Social?

We needed someone who could develop marketing strategies for us and handle our general PR initiatives. Our goal was to grow our market share and acquire new customers.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Avaans Media PR & Social is handling our digital marketing and PR initiatives. We started the project by developing a marketing strategy, which involved working closely with them to identify our objectives as well as opportunities where we could use PR and marketing to further grow our business. They then handled the overall management and execution of the strategy.

Aside from that, they also offer PR consulting services. They are constantly doing research and discovery in order to understand our company and our goals and provide recommendations on where we could be most effective at attracting and retaining our target customers.

Additionally, they handle our social media marketing efforts. They’ve done some social media creative for us in the past and they now manage the post schedule and content calendar for our Twitter and LinkedIn channels.

We work with three people from Avaans Media PR & Social on a regular basis. 

How did you come to work with Avaans Media PR & Social?

I found Avaans Media PR & Social from Better Business Bureau’s list of accredited PR companies. After meeting with Tara (Founder & President), I found that they had a good grasp of what we were trying to accomplish and that their company culture fit best with ours.

How much have you invested with them?

We pay $10,000 Avaans Media PR & Social per month, so I’d say we’ve spent around $50,000 in total so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in July 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve seen an increase in our customer acquisition, and our revenue is 50% higher than what we’ve invested in Avaans Media PR & Social. We now have more business and more money coming in than we’re spending, and we can definitely attribute part of this success to the marketing work that they do for us.

Aside from that, we also got a placement on one of the local magazines that we were hoping to be featured in. Overall, I’d say this engagement has been a success.

How did Avaans Media PR & Social perform from a project management standpoint?

I believe that project management is one of Avaans Media PR & Social’s strongest suits. I’ve worked with a lot of vendors in the past who weren’t transparent about bad news or what they expected us to do. This has never been the case with Avaans Media PR & Social — they’re very upfront when it comes to telling us what we need to do, and they’re incredibly good at making sure that we accomplish our part in the project.

At this point, they’re already functioning as an extension of our internal team. They also use a lot of Microsoft 365 tools, which is really convenient because we use the same tools internally.

We primarily communicate through Microsoft Teams.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m really impressed with how personable they are and how well they communicate. I’ve never had any apprehension in telling them my concerns or issues with their work, because I know that they’ll listen and address them quickly, no matter how small or big my concerns are. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

I’m extremely satisfied with Avaans Media PR & Social’s work, so I can’t really think of anything they could do better. Anytime I’ve had concerns, I’ve been able to discuss them with them and they’re able to address them quickly.

Make sure that you’re willing to put the time and effort into your project.

I was the VP of Marketing for GTE selling air purification products for residential and commercial use across six sales channels.

The pandemic caused our business to triple overnight and Avaans was there to support media requests to help us establish global brand identity as indutry leaders in air purification technology.

I was initially impressed with Tara’s enthusiasm, communication skills, and professional demeanor when I met her almost 2 years ago. Since working with her, she consistently embraced change with a calm, cool approach while being dedicated to our account during a hyper-growth phase.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Avaans Media PR's work resulted in multiple digital media write-ups and earned media reviews. We also received national media coverage with The Gadget Guy. Overall, we could reach a broader audience and drive brand awareness while educating consumers about our filtration system that reduces PFAS and PFOS by 99% in the water source. We also leaned into a new consumer demographic.

Avaans Media PR's team was wonderful to work with — they were always available and attentive. They worked hard to keep the project moving forward and delivered on time. We primarily communicated via email and Zoom meetings.
