We faced the challenge of a legacy app with a large technical debt, and needed a replacement quickly to avoid losing customers. At the same time, we wanted to take the opportunity to completely rethink the structure of the product, integrating user feedback and capturing additional data points. 

Aurora Labs took on the development of a new design system, a new mobile app, and a new CMS, all aimed at creating a more user-friendly and seamless experience for the users. The result was a modern, intuitive platform that reflected our brand and mission while also providing the functionality and reliability that our customers needed.

We had developed an MVP of our mobile platform to test the value proposition quickly on the market but we were faced with the challenge of scalability with a large technical debt. We took the opportunity of a rebranding to rebuild our product completely. In this context, we asked the Aurora Labs team to bring our new vision to life. This project started with the creation of a brand new design system on Figma, enabling us to prototype and test the idea early with their target audience. 

Once done, Aurora Labs moved to development and completely refactored the mobile application. Despite the complexity of the project, this initial project was conducted end-to-end in less than five months. We then asked Aurora Labs to continue delivering on our product roadmap, which included social features, a fitness service to connect various types of sports bands and apps to No Big Deal, a payment platform, and many more. 

Overall, they helped us overcome technical challenges and create a seamless, user-friendly experience for our users. Deliverables included: 

• A new design system on Figma 
• The complete refactor of our mobile app 
• The creation of a micro-service to manage and connect to fitness app APIs 
• The development of a CMS 
• Automated testing scripts 
• A CI/CD pipeline for our mobile app
• New architecture on AWS (using load balancer, EC2 instances)

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The MVP was refactored in less than 5 months from design to app Go Live. The app's new UI contributed to a significant increase in user engagement and satisfaction. The technical debt of the mobile app was successfully eliminated, enabling us to scale our product in other regions and countries.

They stay up-to-date with advancements in the mobile development landscape, allowing them to leverage the most innovative tools and techniques available.

They should not be afraid to challenge their clients more on some decisions and tech roadmap, especially regarding new features.

Serhii is wonderful at hitting and communicating deadlines. He does not scrap together work - he will always accomplish items thoughtfully and will let you know if a deadline is not reasonable. He is extremely responsive over Slack and willing to chat in off-hours (late at night and on weekends).
