Aurora Creation

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I'm the CEO of IDEACTO, a UX and CRO agency that uses data-driven analytics and research to design user-centered solutions for diverse industries, focusing on both business and user needs.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Aurora Creation?

We needed support to deliver the technical implementation for UX/UI concepts we designed for our clients. We also needed to ensure the design reached production without losing its logic at the implementation stage. Additionally, we needed a Magento partner we could bring into projects that exceeded our own scope.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Aurora Creation provides web, e-commerce, and custom software development services. We work with them as our technology partner on projects where a design needs Magento implementation. Our cooperation has covered a Magento 1 to Magento 2 migration for a perfect e-commerce store, a UX audit for a menswear retailer where Aurora Creation implemented our findings while running the wider re-platforming, and product workshops run jointly with a client.

What is the team composition?

We work with 2–5 teammates from Aurora Creation.

How did you come to work with Aurora Creation?

Aurora Creation was referred to me. I chose them over other options because they were a great culture fit, and their company values aligned with ours.

How much have you invested with them?

So far, we've spent around $10,000–$49,999 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in March 2024, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The stores have gone live and remain in active development. On the menswear project, the critical issues from our audit were corrected quickly, and the platform reached go-live after an earlier attempt by another supplier had failed. For us, the most meaningful measure is that our design concepts have survived implementation without being reworked into something else, which is where this kind of cooperation usually breaks down.

How did Aurora Creation perform from a project management standpoint?

Aurora Creation's project management is great. They hold deadlines, and scope changes are communicated early rather than at the deadline. We communicate through Teamwork, email, and calls when a topic needs a conversation. Their project managers keep the end client informed, which matters when two agencies sit on the supplier side, and the client sees one team.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Aurora Creation flags platform constraints during the design stage instead of silently simplifying a concept at implementation. For a design agency, that's the difference between a partner and a subcontractor.

Are there any areas they could improve?

On larger projects, the early estimation stage can take longer than we'd like, although the estimates themselves prove accurate.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.

Aurora Creation supports us on an ongoing basis with Magento 2 development and maintenance for our webshop pitlock.de. Work is organized within a monthly time budget. Key deliverables include continuous technical maintenance, bug fixing, implementation of new features and improvements, and reliable support for all development-related questions. The focus is on steady, pragmatic optimization of the shop, without over-engineering, and always within agreed time and budget constraints.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

While we do not track isolated KPIs per development task, the cumulative effect of the ongoing work is clearly visible: site traffic has improved steadily, and user experience continues to develop in a positive direction. The shop runs reliably, and every change we implement contributes meaningfully. The absence of technical disruptions and the consistent quality of execution are themselves a measurable outcome for a business our size.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

Project management has been consistently strong throughout our collaboration. Deliverables are completed on time, and we always have a clear picture of what is being worked on and when. The project manager acts as an effective and friendly interface between us as a client and the development team, translating our needs into technical tasks without friction. Response times are fast, and even straightforward questions are always handled helpfully.

What was your primary form of communication with Aurora Creation?

• Virtual Meeting
• Email or Messaging App

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What stands out most is their ability to understand our business context and work within it. They do not push unnecessary complexity or over-engineer solutions to demonstrate technical capability. Instead, they focus on what actually makes sense for us, pragmatic, maintainable, and fit for purpose. For a small, owner-operated business, that mindset is genuinely valuable.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Aurora Creation could have done differently?

Nothing comes to mind. And if something did, I would address it directly with the team rather than flag it here. That is the kind of working relationship we have built.

BACKGROUND

Please describe your company and your position there.

I am UI/UX Designer and I work on various e-commerce projects for local and abroad clients.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire Aurora Creation, and what were your goals?

We were looking for a developer which is specialized in Magento software and e-commerce in general. The projects which Aurora Creation has in their portfolio were proof that e-commerce development is bread and butter for them.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I love Aurora Creation's transparency where all time spent on the project is clearly described and logged in. Furthermore, the idea of sprints and work process explained in detail was very convincing and looked as they described it.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

In workshops, we have discussed all obstacles that can appear during the implementation of our design. The knowledge of the Magento was clearly visible. They know about small things that other vendors miss or are even unconscious of.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

The main point of contact was the Project Manager, who also has a very good knowledge of technology and solutions used in Magento. That saved a lot of time and frustration. Each Front-end and Back-end task included a dedicated person, 4 people to sum up. We were smoothly finishing one task after another.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

From the functional side, I was aware of how it can work, so the goal was to make a 1:1 implementation, so the final shop will look as good as on the project. Fortunately, they did a great job and I was delighted with the final results with close to none of the amendments.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We kept project management on TeamWork which I enjoyed. It is intuitive to work on so I was not forced to ask where I can find something. PM was in constant contact with me on TeamWork or on the phone when there was a need to discuss something urgently.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Transparency and that they keep what they promised. I have had enough of vendors, which promised all pie in the sky. I was looking for concise and to-the-point answers to my questions. That is what I got in Aurora.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I do not see anything like that at this point.
