I’m a department VP for an association of a few websites focused on travel booking. We provide a booking system for hotels, flight tickets, car rentals, and more.

What challenge were you trying to address with Astwellsoft?

Our system had a few outdated components, so we needed to update them into a new technology stack. Therefore, we searched for a service provider that could help us out.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Astwellsoft helped us rewrite legacy parts of our system into a modern coding language. Initially, we provided them with the existing documentation and other assets that helped them understand how our system worked and what we expected with the update. They then gave us recommendations on how to make our system better before starting the redevelopment process. Their team also did the needed data migrations into new databases that were compatible with the new technology stack.

I worked with a project manager and technical lead.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent almost $400,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together on this project for a one-year contract from March 2021–March 2022. Now, we have a huge scope of work ready for another project for 2023, and Astwellsoft will handle it.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Thanks to the code language update, our system began to work better, be more stable, and operate faster. Therefore, we now have better performance and significant resource savings. Before working with Astwellsoft, we had to keep finding new service providers from time to time because we kept finding issues with our system. However, we haven’t needed additional help since working with them, so they now lead our list of service providers.

It’s been almost a year since Astwellsoft delivered the updated system, and it’s still working properly, with no bugs found. In addition to the system, Astwellsoft delivered great technical documentation with recommendations for changes needed on our side, so we were really thankful for that. Now, our engineers are working on those additional improvements.

How did Astwellsoft perform from a project management standpoint?

I was in charge of managing Astwellsoft’s team. Although they had a project manager and technical lead, I was responsible for communicating with them and detailing the scope of work.

Working with Astwellsoft was awesome — I was really satisfied with our partnership. Their team delivered within budget and on time. Throughout the project, we constantly tried to go faster, and Astwellsoft managed to reach some milestones a few days before the deadline.

As for communication, we had a call once per week to align expectations for the week. Additionally, we communicated regularly through Slack whenever questions arose. We used Jira to manage the project, write tickets, and create detailed descriptions for the workflow. One time, Astwellsoft changed our workflow in Jira to help us take a better direction, so it was awesome to see their expertise in that area.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Astwellsoft’s experience in software development and software products was impressive. They constantly provided us with recommendations and proposals for improving things, which I appreciated. They were really proactive in that regard.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of any areas of improvement for Astwellsoft because they have awesome engineers. If anything, I would like them to offer a service where we could hire their engineers to work directly with us as if they were our employees.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Work with them! I was absolutely satisfied with this partnership, so I can highly recommend Astwellsoft to anyone.

I'm the CEO of Ademrius. A Hospital Information System for private clinics: online doctor`s appointments, electronic patient medical records, telemedicine, and website creation.

We had an idea in the digital healthcare domain. Needed IT company that will technically implement it.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Expertise in the direction of development of SaaS solutions and HealthCare domain.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

In the beginning, we were planning to outsource only development, but after a first joint meeting, we realized that given their expertise in this domain, it is worth entrusting them with the entire turnkey project. The Astwellsoft team helped us validate the idea in the market, form the technical description, draw a professional design, then code the solution, and finally help us go to market through digital marketing and bring us our first customers.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There were 15 people on the team, including a project manager, technical writer, designer, tech architect, 2 backend seniors, 3 backend middle engineers, 2 frontend seniors, 3 frontend middle engineers, and QA.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

All development was strictly according to the deadlines indicated at the beginning of the cooperation. No going over budget. The finished product did not contain any bugs that needed to be corrected. The product has worked with stability since its launch.

Communicated through Slack, development was conducted through Jira. Management was clearly broken down into specific measurable sprints with recordable results.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Extremely strong specialization in the HealthCare SaaS projects. Also, accurate calculation of time and budget.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Tell the world more about themself. We came across this company by chance. We would like everyone to know that such professionals exist.

I’m CEO of Askep LLC. We created an IT solution for medical clinics.

What challenge were you trying to address with WebDreamLab?

We only have managers and salespeople in-house and needed a development team for our medical solution.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

This special medical solution is a CRM for clinics. It allows patients to make an appointment with a doctor online. Working with big data, it gathers statistical information about patients and from general medical CRM systems. We sell it to medical clinics in Ukraine, and next year we’re going abroad.

They built it all from scratch. They did all the design, layout, coding, server management, and testing. They did everything.

What is the team composition?

There were approximately 10 people working on this project.

How did you come to work with WebDreamLab?

We explored a lot of companies. We were looking for a company with more than 10 years’ experience in the market. Some guys we know did some work with them a few years ago and were satisfied. They recommended them to us.

How much have you invested with them?

In October, it was near $35,000. We’re starting the second milestone that will be near $20,000, which will be finished at the end of January.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in May 2017, and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The money we made from the first clinic that bought our solution is being used to pay for the second milestone to add an additional function. It works well. It was a success. I’m satisfied.

How did WebDreamLab perform from a project management standpoint?

They were able to write all the full technical requirements of how it should work. They gave us recommendations for improvements. They were very helpful. We used Worksection where we could clearly see what tasks were being done and how much time was being spent and add comments to each task, etc. In the beginning, we had meetings every day for 2–3 weeks. Then, we had weekly meetings to talk about what needed to be done the following week.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It was the first time everything was done on time. In our past experience with outsourcing solutions, they were always late. This was very cool because we can plan our project and know that it will be on time.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It would be better if they increased the size of their team. When we want to add a lot of things at once, they can’t do it because they only have 100 or so people. Sometimes we have to wait 1–2 weeks until they can get a few people.
