Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the owner and president of Niven Morgan Products. We create bath & body products and candles.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Ashlar Projects?

We hired Ashlar Projects to work on our packaging and design. We had missed the mark on many occasions, and we were ready to hit a home run with new packaging.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

The team at Ashlar Projects brought our idea to life. They rebranded in our candle line, and we’re currently in the process of rebranding our men’s line. We’re now trying to finalize the layout on the packaging, and then we will move into redoing the remaining products we have.

Once the designs are finished, we bring them to our existing printing service.

What is the team composition?

I’ve worked with five or six at a time, but I have a primary contact that does the design.

How did you come to work with Ashlar Projects?

I’ve known about Brooke’s (Co-Founder) background and their talent for a long time. I knew Ashlar Projects would be a good fit.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Ashlar Projects in November 2017.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their team merges artists with business leaders and thinkers. They understand my vision, and I consider them an extension of our company. I’ve worked with other firms that couldn’t understand my vision, so working with Ashlar Projects has been a great experience.

We’ve seen an increase in our candle line’s sales. They’re able to take my vision and put it on paper, so it’s been a success.

How did Ashlar Projects perform from a project management standpoint?

One thing that I love about Ashlar Projects is that they’re very upfront and blunt. They don’t beat around the bush. We met as a group to review concepts and give honest and direct feedback, which I love and value. This group truly understands the client.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The fact that we’re moving to our third project with them in just a few years speaks highly. We started off a bit slow, but now that we’re moving faster, we’re putting a lot into Ashlar Projects, and we do love what we’re getting back from them.

With this age of digital marketing and social media, it’s more important that we’re on target with our concepts, packaging, and branding. We just feel that Ashlar Projects is the company for us.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I think they’re doing well. While response time could always be better, that goes both ways. If you give them a time crunch, they hit it. I think we’re working well together.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Definitely give it a try. Sometimes people come in, and they get nervous working with a new group. Each time, Ashlar Projects has hit our targets. They’re a nice diverse group.

I’m a project coordinator at Stillwater Capital. We develop apartment complexes and custom homes.

We hired them to manage our marketing. We needed someone to know our clientele and what they expect as far as marketing material.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Ashlar Projects works on our brochures for sale, logo design, digital collateral, and print as well. They focus on our brochure-style website.

What is the team composition?

We work with Brooke (Co-Founder) and Missy (Co-Founder).

How did you come to work with Ashlar Projects?

I worked with Missy in the past at a previous company.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in September 2015 and the relationship is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Their work is much better than the other companies we’ve worked with and there is a big difference and that their work is better. The logo design is very well thought out, as well as the descriptions. Brooke is really good at making something boring magical. The photography for the projects is also really good.

How did Ashlar Projects perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management has always been good, including their correspondence and emails. They’re always willing to go the extra mile and help out or answer the phone on a Saturday.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They really do care about what the project looks like and they take time. The team wants to make sure to keep the relationships that they’ve built instead of just hurrying to get something done and getting paid.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes they can seem a little busy, but everyone is busy this time.
