Traffics - Brand Story
- The purpose of the project was to create a professional recruitment Video.
-
It wasn't so clear for the company how they should present themselves. By talking to the owners, and hearing the workers we understood that the right direction should be fun yet professional. Our goal was to create a short video that showcases these elements in the company's working environment.

(DESY): Employees’ Perspective Brand Video
The Project
The Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron, commonly known as DESY, is one of the leading research laboratories in Germany and one of the world-leading accelerator centers. As a national research center in Germany that operates particle accelerators to investigate the structure of matter, DESY conducts a broad spectrum of interdisciplinary scientific research in the areas of particle and high energy physics, photon science, and the development, construction and operation of particle accelerators.
DESY engaged us to produce a 2-minute documentary-style video which included filming interviews with department managers, capturing the working atmosphere in the research facility, and showing a behind-the-scenes look at their operations.
The Challenges
We only had several hours to capture 5 interviews and B-roll footage of 10 locations to add dimension to the narrative, which meant adopting a “run and gun” approach to cover as much ground within the shortest time possible.
The Outcome
The completed video features a series of interviews with prominent heads of departments sharing highlights of their specialised work, interspersed with B-roll shots of employees in their daily working environment, as well as close-ups of the facility’s equipment and machinery.

Sozialministerium Sachsen: Facebook Campaign
A series of 6 interviews we did for the Ramboll agency as part of Sozialministerium Sachsen, Facebook Campaign.

Humboldt University
The Project
We were approached by Plural, a graphic design agency specialising in brand language, to create an online and offline video campaign to promote the Institute for Slavonic Studies and Hungarology at the Humboldt University of Berlin. Slavic studies at the Humboldt University of Berlin dates back to over 150 years of history, offering students a rich and diverse perspective of Slavic languages, literature, and culture.
The videos take viewers through personal stories of former graduates about their motivations for undertaking Slavic studies at the Humboldt University and how that decision and education experience prepared and helped them to build successful careers.
The project scope entailed the following:
- Developing the concept and storyline
- Pre-interviews with select graduates
- Half-day shooting with each student inclusive of interviews
- Content edit
- Video edit
- Portrait photography in the studio for each student
The Outcome
Our approach was to focus on the concept of personal storytelling to show potential students what kind of knowledge and skills past graduates had gained from the course and how that helped them succeed in their careers and personal development.
During the pre-interview stage, we talked to the graduates about their personal journeys at the university and how that experience shaped their careers. From this information, we were able to craft the right questions for the actual interview.
We captured the interviews and footage of each student’s daily work and personal life for added depth and authenticity. From the footage, we created individual storylines for each video to narrate each student’s journey, starting with the decision to enroll in the course, personal conflicts they faced along the way, how they overcame those obstacles, and finally how the education experience helped them live productive and successful lives.

Neo Capital: Internal Project Showcase
The Project
neo capital is an independent Investment Advisory and Asset Management company providing global real estate investment expertise in developed markets with several projects underway in Western Europe and the USA.
The company engaged us to produce a video capturing Frankfurt city’s international appeal and showcasing its dynamic metropolitan vibe and cultural atmosphere as the location for one of their building development projects. The video would be presented to neo capital’s board members at an upcoming board meeting.
The Challenges
Since the video involved outdoor and aerial shoots, weather was a tricky component of the process, especially as we were on a tight production schedule. We had 6 days to shoot and produce the video, during which the weather was mostly grey and cold. We had exactly one day of sun, which meant we had to work fast to make the most of the clear skies.
Adding animation and after-effects to the map overview was also quite a time-consuming and complex process, but we managed to get it done on schedule.
The Outcome
Our team of a videographer and an assistant set out to capture the different perspectives and settings that show Frankfurt’s vibrant city vibes and metropolitan atmosphere. The footage included aerial shots, building façades of prominent landmarks, and cityscapes in the day and night.
For a more engaging effect, we decided to start the video with an animated map of the city as seen from above with a bird’s-eye view, slowly zooming in on the city’s surroundings and buildings on the ground, essentially taking the viewer on a virtual tour of the city.

Traffics: 20th Anniversary Video & Brand Story
The Project
Established in 1999, Traffics is a leading travel technology company and among the pioneers in the digital travel industry. Renowned for their innovative and customer-oriented development of consultation, search, and booking systems for travels, the award-winning Traffics software systems are used by more than 6,000 travel agencies as well as renowned travel portals, airlines, hotels, and other travel suppliers.
We were approached by Salim and Jens, the founders of Traffics, to produce a video to commemorate the company’s 20th-anniversary celebration. They wanted to share the story of the company’s journey over the last 20 years at a special screening for clients and friends at a rented cinema for the anniversary party.
The Challenges
There was a lot of content to cover with only 3 to 4 weeks to shoot, edit, and deliver the finished product. Due to a lack of visual materials in terms of photos and video footage of the company’s history, we created hand-drawn illustrations to add humor and animation to the storytelling.
The Outcome
What initially started as a 10-minute video concept eventually ended up as a 25-minute production as there were too many amusing anecdotes and priceless memories that we couldn’t leave out.
We started by recording interviews with employees and the management team followed by B-roll footage to capture the right perspectives of the atmosphere and culture of the company. Based on information from the interviews, we developed the video storyboard to convey the storyline and creative direction of the narrative.
From there, we went on to capture the necessary footage of the company’s past and present seen in its offices, surroundings, and daily working atmosphere. Thanks to Salim and Jens’ great sense of humor and flexibility, we were able to create funny animated illustrations for added character to the storytelling. Post-production was then done to edit all the different parts into a seamless and engaging story.

Facebook at DMEXCO 2019: Event Video
The Project
DMEXCO is an annual event held in Cologne, Germany that brings together industry leaders, marketing and media professionals, and tech pioneers to set the digital agenda. It sets the standard as the place for business minds to learn and inspire, build connections, and for ideas to become actions.
In collaboration with the events agency, Innovision, we provided our videography services to film Facebook’s participation at DMEXCO 2019. We had an on-site team of 2 videographers, 2 assistants, 2 on-site editors, and a producer to capture Facebook’s sessions on the main stage and at their booth, which were subsequently edited into a highlights film.
The Challenges
As with most big events of this scale, we had to manage the logistics of data transfer between our team members as efficiently as possible to stay on schedule. With daily deadlines to meet, our editors had to work through the night to deliver on time.
The Outcome
We developed the creative aspects of the video with the Facebook Business representative on-site. Our main focus was to highlight the Facebook booth features, capture the main stage keynote speakers in session, as well as the atmosphere at the booth and interactions with the public.
We created several versions of the video for use on social media and general marketing highlighting Facebook’s initiative against online bullying, building trust in the safety of the platform, as well as the important role of Instagram Stories for modern businesses.

Facebook Marketing Summit 2019
The Project
In collaboration with the events agency, Innovision, we provided our videography and photography services for the Facebook Marketing Summit 2019 event. Held in Berlin, Rotterdam, and Warsaw, the event was attended by over a thousand partners, clients, advertisers, and agencies, to network and share the latest trends and the future of marketing.
The project scope involved filming the event in Berlin as well as editing the footage of the summit in Rotterdam and Warsaw to produce highlight clips and videos for internal and external use. We had an on-site team consisting of a photographer, a videographer, and a director documenting the Berlin summit and an off-site team of two video editors working on editing all the footage.
The Challenges
With the final delivery scheduled to take place 4 days after the event, we were operating under a tight deadline. We had to get the footage of Rotterdam and Warsaw and pass that together with the Berlin footage to the editors, which amounted to 4 TB of data captured over a 3-day period.
We delivered a draft version for review every morning at 11:00 and received the feedback by 19:00, which meant our editors had to work through the night during those days to meet the final deadline.
The Outcome
From a creative perspective, we focused on capturing the dynamic atmosphere and spirit of the activities as well as the key message of the summit. Following a chronological timeline, we featured event highlights of the three locations in sequence while using the interview with Nicola Mandelsohn, VP for EMEA for Facebook, as the main voice-over narrating the main parts of the video.
We featured the complete Facebook family of apps and services for brand visibility as well as relevant vox pop content (short videos of interviews with the public) to show different perspectives of the event and to keep it engaging throughout.

Video Production for Creative Media Agency
“Arty-Shock works really hard and diligently.”

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
Fin London is a media production creative agency. We make films, commercials, branded content, TV programs, documentaries, and other entertainment content.
What challenge were you trying to address with Arty-Shock?
We recently received a contract for a big multinational company. We had to roll out branded content across the UK and Europe. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we had to reach out to find a production partner in Germany, which is where Arty-Shock is based. We also had to develop a very quick working relationship with them to meet some tight deadlines.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The company we were working for needed to film four digital coaches to showcase their key attributes. They also needed photoshoots and other collections of assets for their coaching program. Arty-Shock filmed and captured the content for us. They worked on a tight window because they had four days to film the four coaches who were in a 300–400 miles range across Germany. They needed to work on the logistical setup, be cooperative in the one-on-one sessions with the coaches, and be representative for us in situ.
We wrote the script, and Arty-Shock had to digest, understand, and execute the script in the location. They also had to find the locations in which they could carry out successfully. Some of the coaches were new to this kind of project, so Arty-Shock had to handle them with real care. They built up incredible trust with the people and the organization.
We had specific briefs on how we wanted the shots, and they managed to comprehend them and dive into them. They also had to get the people to be on camera and act natural and friendly, which was quite hard. It was also hard to get access to film within the houses and locations.
Now that the coaching program is live, we have content going out on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. As a digital branded broadcaster, they need a whole catalog of assets to use going forward, and we’ve continued to work with Arty-Shock as we do so. Given that we still can’t travel, they’ve become our team on the ground. They still film small bits for the company, and we’ve been handing a lot of the content to our producers to help the final client have the output they need.
What is the team composition?
We’ve been working with five people. Arty-Shock put together a producer, a cameraman, a soundman, a director, and a logistics person.
How did you come to work with Arty-Shock?
We did research online, and Arty-Shock was our backup option at first. The first choice we had was extremely booked up, and the weather turned against us. It suddenly started snowing, and the company didn’t want snow in their pictures, so we had to quickly shift from our first to our second choice. Being a second option, Arty-Shock hadn’t been party to a lot of the initial talks and preambles we’d done with the first company, so we had to get them up to speed very quickly.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around €33,000–€34,000 (approximately $40,000–$41,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in March 2021, and our engagement is ongoing. Arty-Shock has continued a long-term friendship with the company, even beyond the job. We're expecting to continue to work with them as we go forward.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The content is now live, and everyone is happy. All the files have been sent to an ad agency in Germany, and they’re working with them to produce more content.
Arty-Shock works really hard and diligently. They work really well with the coaches on the ground, which is really crucial for us. They’re capable of adhering to all the regulations we need.
How did Arty-Shock perform from a project management standpoint?
I let Arty-Shock use the cameras and equipment they feel comfortable using, and I only demand certain specifications for the files. They film the content, but we have to edit it. It’s crucial for us to remain in control because it’s not easy to let a third party do the shots in this type of project. Arty-Shock is completely happy with that kind of project management.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Arty-Shock has hit all the points of the briefs, and they’ve done everything that has been asked for them really well and cleanly.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There are a lot of decisions Arty-Shock has made that I would have made slightly differently. However, it’s understandable that, as we’re different individuals, we have a different eye for our creative processes.
Any advice for potential customers?
Give Arty-Shock a try. They’re mentally affable, lovely, and kind people.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Global Communications Strategist for an international nonprofit doing work across Europe.
For what projects/services did your company hire Arty-Shock?
We hired arty-Shock to travel with our communications team to interview individuals in an effort to capture their stories. We traveled to multiple locations and met with many two to three people a day in their individual apartments which were often quite small.
The goal was to, not only capture the individuals being interviewed, but to also capture the work being done by our staff. The outcome was intended to be collecting stories form clients as well as telling our own story. There would be no opportunity for retakes. It was a tall order for a crew that needed to be mobile, flexible and ready for anything.
What were your goals for this project?
We needed to come away from the week-long filming with 8 separate videos; one for each of the individuals we interviewed, 1 as an overview of the week, and 1 highlighting the work being done by our staff.
How did you select Arty-Shock?
We have worked with Arty-Shock for several years now and their work consistently exceeds expectations. Choosing them for this mobile project with a lot of unknowns was a no-brainer. We needed someone who was detail oriented, focused on the task at hand at all times, and able to make adjustments as the situation required.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
Each individual interviewed had their own unique story - a separate set of circumstances that made up their life and particular situations in which they were currently living. No two interviews were the same and each video profile needed to highlight each unique detail.
Arty-Shock was able to complete each video, showing each individual in their best light, with b-roll threaded through in a way that really evoked the powerful history each person was sharing. Going into people's homes required a delicate touch, as professional and efficient manner while still being gentle with the individuals and respectful of their space.
Arty-Shock was able to connect with these people, hear their stories and capture the details of their lives in a way that endeared them to each person we met with, all while setting up multiple cameras and lights and other equipment. The process was nearly seamless in each location, some of which seemed impossibly small for the task.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
Our communications team worked with Arty-Shock for several months after the week-long shoot to maximize the footage and pull as much out of each profile video, the overview video and the behind-the-scenes video of the staff.
We gave edits that were quickly implemented and returned. Arty-Shock was far more proactive than our team was, constantly checking in on the progress of each video even when unsolicited.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The resulting videos are amazing. We use them across many of our platforms and channels, highlighting them at our annual board meeting and using pieces of each video across our social channels.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Arty-Shock works so efficiently with our team, and they are so proactive and thoughtful it is almost like they are a full time employee of our department. Seamless communications, quick responses to inquiries and often times providing options for additional applications of the videos that our team had not considered.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Our communications team is quite small and works globally. It is imperative that the vendors we use are able to manage the work completely with minimal guidance and complete the work on time and in budget. This is the consistent outcome of our work with Arty-Shock.
What makes them stand out is the sensitive way they handle the subject matter and the individuals who's stories we are trying to capture. They are dependable and respectful, and their project deliverable reflects the care they show during each shoot.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I wish I could move forward more projects with them more often. Each project just gets better and better.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the founder of Qequal, a digital platform for queer service providers.
For what projects/services did your company hire Arty-Shock, and what were your goals?
We worked with Arty-Shock to produce two promotional video clips, that would capture the complex emotional range of safety and quality, focusing on story telling around the service provider's motivation to do what they do.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We were recommended to work with Arty-Shock by business colleagues.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.
We met up for several brainstorming sessions, where we carved out a storyline and the emotional message we wanted to convey and then tailored a storyline to meet those goals, leaving room for occasional spontaneity and improvisation to make the video feel more alive.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
We worked with Yehuda. He went out of his way to tailor the video to our needs and outperformed all of our expectations. He was very warm and deeply engaged in our product. He intuitively understood what we needed and wanted and customised a perfect score after interviewing us and the protagonists in a very sensitive and respectful way.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We haven't published the videos yet, but we expect them to hit home with our target audience, because everyone we showed them to so far loved them.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Yehuda | Arty Shock worked precisely, efficiently and timely, yet never hurried or careless. Attention to detail and an overall easy-going friendliness made working together a pleasure.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
We were very impressed what quality of production Yehuda | Arty-Shock was able to produce with very little resources and time. Most impressive however, was the sensitivity and dedication with which Yehuda went straight to the heart of our mission and understood it, even though it is very far from his personal experience.
He went above and beyond to create a unique video, that expresses the essence of what we are selling - safety and quality of service. Everything from storyboard to execution to editing was one seamless entity and of the highest quality, like a Savile Row suit.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
We were blown away by their professionalism and skills. There is nothin we can think of that could have been done better.
