The Artifex team took a holistic approach to Embody’s digital advertising. They spent a lot of time up front making sure all of our core pillars were in place (pixels, conversion tracking, reporting, budgeting, copywriting, etc.). Camila from Artifex spearheaded these initiatives and made sure that we were running ad campaigns that fit well within the ad program we were using.

We were able to launch ad programs across 4 digital advertising networks within the first two months of working together. They also helped us navigate issues we had in the past with ad disapprovals and rejections. Since working with Artifex, we now have a much more coherent approach to our marketing campaigns. We’re able to balance evergreen advertising with one-off promotions all while maintaining a strong sense of consistency across our ad creatives.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We worked directly with Camila on Slack. We had a shared Slack Connect channel where all of our communication took place. We’d work with Camila day-to-day, and then also leverage Jhana for anything technical or high-level. We also had reporting dashboards maintained for us so that we were always able to see the health of our ad program.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Without a doubt, it’s their knowledge within the eCommerce space. All of the other providers we’ve worked with are generic advertisers. Artifex Digital’s unique e-commerce experience really shone through.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The cost of the service. It’s an expensive retainer, especially since we’ve advertised on many different networks. It would be awesome if they had a lower cost solution for businesses like ours.

They even set up a custom Zapier flow to help our business track offline conversions.

I worked directly with Jhana mainly through a combination of emails + phone calls. They also provided a reporting dashboard so I could see the state of the ad program at any given moment as well. Jhana was always able to speak to larger business initiatives with me as well. If I had a new product launch, a new seasonal line, or a big sales event, Jhana would always consult on the best ways to approach this within the context of the online advertising world.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
It felt like Artifex really understood the e-commerce landscape very well. Other marketers seem to be very general, but I appreciated the degree of expertise in the ecommerce space. I felt like they had ideas and solutions specific to this vertical.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The cost of the service is on the higher side. There are certainly cheaper marketing providers out there. A lower cost would be great. Additionally, it would be awesome if they provided more creative resources to their clients as well, as opposed to merely taking on a consulting role.

It felt like Jhana was able to dive into our account beyond the simple metrics of CPC, CTR, etc. Artifex Digital was able to identify deeper issues within our account that was holding us back, such as the way we were using conversion tracking, bidding strategies, first-party customer data, and more.

Though the audit was robust, the turnaround time was a little slow. It’d be awesome if we could have an audit completed within 48 hours or so next time.

We launched our paid ads program with Artifex in Q4 of 2021. When we look back in our Shopify account, we can see that our total revenue has increased 182% compared to Q3. Additionally, our Total Orders has increased by 143%, and Returning Customer Rate by 58%.

The Artifex Digital team is very agile and quick to execute. Camila would run calls with our team, we’d go over campaign details, creative strategy, new tests to run, etc. We conduct all our communications via email and video calls.

Artifex is clearly focused on the ecomm world. They are able to share their learnings from across their ecommerce clients with our business to help us make better decisions. They’ve also helped us with some conversion rate optimization work on our website and our planning to outsource a designer for us too. We appreciate them going beyond advertising to help us.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
We’ve been keen to start testing on new platforms. Particularly Google Ads and Pinterest Ads. We will hopefully be launching on these platforms early in the new year. Our feedback would be that we wish we were able to launch these earlier into our engagement.

Artifex specializes in the e-commerce space. Meaning that in addition to being digital ads experts, they’re able to leverage their e-commerce knowledge as well to really elevate our ads’ performance. It’s been a great engagement so far. No major complaints. That being said, it would be great if they were able to support us more directly on the organic side of our business (organic socials and SEO). However, they are a paid ads-only provider.

We leaned on them to manage the ads strategy, and they leaned on us to provide creative deliverables, customer lists, organic milestones to promote, and more.

Artifex’s extensive festival advertising knowledge certainly sets them apart from other ads services. They truly understand the lifecycle of music festivals, meaning we can work with them knowing that they speak our language.

Jhana built us a custom Google Data Studio dashboard that allowed us to centralize all of our ads & business reporting into one place. The dashboard was also useful in visualizing customer LTV — which is super important in the eCommerce space. Additionally, Jhana set up custom Zapier automations for our clients to help them better attribute sales to their Facebook ad results.
This really helped our reporting as an organization and increased our clients' Return on Ad Spend. Finally, Jhana was also able to run and facilitate interesting ads experiments across clients as well. He was able to design campaign structures that helped us make broader business decisions for our clients.

Jhana is a great communicator. He uses many different mediums to turn complex advertising principles into digestible information. He was willing to work directly with us, but also speak to our clients directly as well. He is also fully capable of working independently, without oversight.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I really enjoyed the way that Jhana was able to integrate into our internal company’s systems & processes. It didn’t feel like we were purchasing a standardized & rigid service. Instead, we found someone who was far more agile and flexible when it came to fitting into LaunchPop’s needs.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Price is certainly a factor. Hiring Jhana from Artifex is expensive, and companies should make sure they bring on Artifex for projects that justify such an arrangement.

Artifex helped us measure key business KPIs to a much higher degree of accuracy. The efficacy of our paid program will improve significantly now that we can track the custom events we want to. We were able to track conversions on the Facebook Ad platform across our core website, a number of different landing pages, as well as within our custom form tool.

We hired Artifex for two professional audits of our Google Ads account. The first audit went over all of our major campaigns, conversion tracking, ad copy, targeting, and bidding strategies. We then brought Jhana in again 6 weeks later for a second audit to make sure that the changes we implemented are effective.

Because of the audit, we were able to seriously improve the efficiency of our existing campaigns, as well as launch a number of new ones as well. Since then, the overall conversion rate of our ad account has increased by 9.5%, we’ve increased our search market share by 10%, and ads-attributed revenue has increased by 1,190%!

Jhana was able to work very quickly and efficiently. He delivered us 30+ minute loom videos through his auditing process. They were very useful to watch and implement his suggestions precisely. This communication style was highly effective for our business.

Artifex’s prices come at a premium. They are definitely more expensive than other agencies. That being said, the quality of work shines through and makes it justifiable. We’d work with them again.
