I am an independent game developer working on an unreleased game title for pc.

For what projects/services did your company hire Arrible?

Several high quality 3d assets were needed to complete a vertical cut of our project. For that we required an experienced contractor.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

After finding samples of the vendor's work on artstation, we contacted them and worked out the details for our cooperation.

We discussed the artstyle and technical requirements for the art like polycount and required texture maps. For each piece, reference photos were provided and the venor created a model based on those. After discussing any desired tweaks to the models, they produced a retopologized version and textures.

2 3d artists from the vendor's team worked on the project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The models they created for us were done fast and with very clean topology and great attention to detail - which is necessary for producing good animations later on.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Communication and coordination were easy and pleasant throughout the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They were very professional and produced high quality models that exceeded the standards of average freelancers we worked with.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There were no problems for the duration of our cooperation.

Outstanding customer service and responsiveness and the 3D models perfectly sync with my existing art Asset pipeline.

Very effective, communication is never an issue.

The expediency and rates they offer are unbeatable considering the quality of the models.

Our company works predominantly in software development. We develop video games and outsource our art and other kinds of work.

What challenge were you trying to address with Arrible?

We try to separate the art from the actual product. That way, the artist has more freedom to do their work. We chose Arrible to work as pixel artists.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We assign tasks to Arrible, and they primarily work on static pixel art before animation. For example, they’ve done a 2D character turnaround. We usually provide concept art, but sometimes it doesn’t look as good as we’d imagined, so we go into revision. After that, we do more turnaround work. They’ve also animated the main character.

We mainly use Unity for development. Right now, the game is for PC. Later on, we might be able to optimize it for mobile as well.

What is the team composition?

We have one point of contact. He’s one of the leaders at Arrible.

How did you come to work with Arrible?

We looked through different sources and found them through Upwork.

How much have you invested with them?

It’s roughly between $10,000–$15,000 for all the assets they’ve produced.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working in July 2019, and our engagement is ongoing. Right now, there’s less work because they’ve finished the majority of it, but they’re still creating assets.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their work is of high quality. Also, they always respond if we need them to do something extra. Arrible picks up the work and gets it done; they’re right on top of it.

How did Arrible perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything has been done as it should. We primarily use Discord, which allows us to send messages back and forth fairly quickly.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their speed is outstanding. Also, their skill in pixel art and the quality of their work are incredible.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I can’t think of anything right now.

I am a Project Manager to the creator of a Mechanical Facilitation Tool.

For what projects/services did your company hire Arrible, and what were your goals?

We are building a VR mechanical facilitation tool and have been working with Arrible to test different platforms and options to create our vision.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

We searched on Upwork and after reviewing several Unity developers, decided that Arrible was best suited to support our endeavors.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Initially, we hoped to create a VR product on VR Chat, but unfortuantely the platform did not allow us to have all the features we'd hoped for. The team discussed alternate options with us, providing guidance, while also listening to our needs. In the end, we decided to create our product our own web application, giving us full reign to build as we'd like.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

We work with 3 people. Two Project Managers and an Account Manager.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

We work with one PM who is the communications line between the developers and us. He is very informative with milestones and expectations.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are efficient and leave no stone unturned when testing out the best platform for creating the product.

Nothing to improve on, everything is great.
