A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner and co-founder of Underground Hustle. We’re a social e-commerce app that helps small businesses have a better clientele by exposing them to the communities of their target market.
What challenge were you trying to address with Appsnado?
We had a hard time helping small businesses expand their clientele outside of their local area or region. As a result, we wanted to create a platform that could spread their brands throughout the US and internationally. The platform could also help them cultivate relationships with consumers and entrepreneurs. To do that, we hired Appsnado.
What was the scope of their involvement?
In the beginning, I provided Appsnado with all the research and discovery I’d done. We had a few meetings about the app; I explained what they should do, how the app should look, and what features it should have. After that, they sent me wireframes, pictures, and PowerPoint presentations. I then made sure that they understood everything correctly before they went into development. Simply put, all ideas came from me, and they had to put them into action.
At present, Appsnado is developing our platform to allow people to have control over their personal brands and pages. The app is mainly for Android and iOS, but it will also be available for desktop computers. After developing the prototype, Appsnado will give it to me for approval and to know if we need to add anything to it. If I approve, they’ll start developing its beta version, which will be available to download on both Google Play and App Store.
Going forward, they’ll also help us with marketing after the app is released. In fact, they’re creating a website to market our product — another Appsnado team is working on this, so we’re hitting two birds in one stone. We haven’t gone into much of the marketing plan, but we’ll cross the bridge when we get there. So far, we’ve been bouncing ideas off of each other to improve the app. We’ve also contracted them for a year within which they’ll fix bugs in the app and host the website for free.
What is the team composition?
Appsnado might have external people working on the project, but we mainly chat and collaborate with five people from their team.
How did you come to work with Appsnado?
I looked up app development companies on Google, which led me to a site where I could create a profile and connect with app developers. After providing a brief explanation of what I wanted, app developers started inboxing me to be interviewed over the phone; I talked to about 5–6 app developers, including Appsnado.
Appsnado ended up being the perfect fit for us because they were as invested and excited about the app as I. In fact, after hearing my ideas, they created a PowerPoint presentation about the project. As a result, I felt they were the best people to hire. I truly appreciated their vibe and effort; it felt as if their vision for the app was as strong as mine. On top of that, their price was affordable — they even gave me a discount because they liked our idea.
How much have you invested with them?
So far, we’ve invested between $19,000–$20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in February 2021, and the engagement is ongoing. While we don’t have an end date for the project, we have to renew the contract upon the release of the app.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
So far, everything has been good. We’re moving a little slower than I want, but I’d rather be slow and perfect than move fast and be trash. The impatient part of me wants to go fast, but I want the app to be perfect — perfection takes time.
Moreover, I like their step-by-step approach; they don’t move on to the next step unless I approve the previous one. That’s comforting because I know they’re developing the app 100% based on my vision. Due to that, we’re looking forward to renewing our contract in the future because they’re the right people for our business.
How did Appsnado perform from a project management standpoint?
I like how we communicate on Basecamp. Appsnado members are always available; I have their numbers and email addresses, and they respond to me within a day. On average, they only take 4–5 hours to address my concerns.
They also keep me up to date with everything that’s happening on their side of things. If I haven’t heard from them in a while, I can send them a text message or check in on them on Basecamp to know what’s going on. From there, they tell me everything; they even send me pictures of how everything is going.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re invested in the project, and they come to me with new ideas. In other words, Appsnado doesn’t work just to complete the project and earn money; they’re passionate about everything they do. To sum up, the best part of them is their investment and love for their work.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there aren’t any.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Communicate with them. As long as you communicate and allow them to know exactly what you want, everything will be good. After all, being able to express your needs, concerns, and happiness is the most important thing in any project.

I am the founder of Kornhole Kings. A mobile phone game of the classic lawn game: Cornhole. With power ups and character skills to alter game play and add strategy.
For what projects/services did your company hire Appsnado, and what were your goals?
Appsnado was hired to create and code my vision. They worked with me throughout the entire process to create a game that I'm proud to say that I own.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I searched for companies with great reviews online.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I was assigned a project manager that I worked with directly. Ali is amazing! He was in charge of discussing my vision and work with the team to execute it.

Within the first 6 months of releasing the game, we have over 3,000 downloads. We have worked on three major updates that have been very well received by users.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Ali, the project manager, was amazing. He was always there to discuss changes that needed to be made and was available any time during the day or night. He provided his excellent insight and would advise me in directions based on his experience.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Although this was my first app experience, what impressed me most was their ability to be available to discuss changes no matter the time of day. They made you feel like you were their number one priority and worked tirelessly to meet the deadlines.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
There are no real complaints with the company. They're great. Perhaps the one knock on them is they didn't always meet their deadlines. However, the deadlines I gave them were rigorous and were met in a timely manner.

I am an Associate Professor at a College of Optometry
For what projects/services did your company hire Appsnado?
OCTaVIA app that I created and authored 2 years ago needed an update. Appsnado developed a newer version of the app available for both Apple and Android devices, as well as created a server where information within the app can be modified at any time.
What were your goals for this project?
My primary goal for the project was to have OCTaVIA app available for both Apple and Android devices. Other goals were to have a modifiable version of the app (versus static), so I can post updated information and images to the users.
How did you select Appsnado?
I researched online, contacted 3 different firms, and after speaking to Ali Mansoor at Appsnado, I was confident that Appsnado can deliver successfully the product I am looking for within the budget that I had

Originally we had a series of meetings with Ali Mansoor to identify concrete goals of the project and the ways to accomplish them. After the contract was signed, I started working directly with the project manager, Steve Dylan.
At each step of the project, Steve always made sure that I reviewed the work being done before finalizing it, he always addressed issues in a polite and helpful manner. he and hos team worked tirelessly to ensure the successful completion of the project.

My company is Discount Inboard Marine, LLC. I am the owner. We are a faith based , Christian company. A mail order business, 29 years strong serving water skiers and wake boarders and the water sports industry.
For what projects/services did your company hire Appsnado?
We hired Appsnado to develop a Christian App that would provide scripture truth correlated to clock time for use in memorizing scripture and speaking to God with His Word around the clock, minute by minute.
What were your goals for this project?
Reach the world for Christ. Be a beacon light of inspiration and truth.
How did you select this vendor?
I Googled App Builders.
Describe the project in detail.
The project took over 1400 verses and 50 beautiful photos of majestic scenery and correlated the scriptures' chapter and verse to the corresponding clock time and presented them scrolling for the users' blessing and meditation.
What was the team composition?
Ali and David were my go to guys for the 9 months it took to come to fruition.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We have 52 units using the app within the first 30 days. 359 Sessions and 2,354 impressions. We have not even launched it yet. People love it, some say it is their favorite APP. And, God's timing is so perfect to get a word from Him at any moment of the day based on what time it is. I wish more reviews were allowed by the APP store. It seems they restrict more than a few from showing up. It has a 5 Star rating now with 7 Ratings, but only 3 reviews all on the same day by our personal family. One review from a friend seems to have disappeared. And, no other outside reviews have been allowed to be viewed. Surely there are more.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We had some delay and some failed attempts to get the APP working properly, so the Project Manager took over and got her done. I'm grateful for their attention to detail and follow-through.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The website is beautiful and the team was intent on producing a good product.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Realistic timelines might help patience and expectations during the development process based on volume of the team.

Mobile App & Content Development for Crew Management App
"Their response time has been stellar and they always get back to me whenever I contact them."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of Crew Trader LLC, and we’re developing a productivity app that’s designed to trade and manage crew members and work schedules.
What challenge were you trying to address with Appsnado?
We needed someone to help us develop our app and execute our ideas and concepts.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Appsnado is helping us build a central platform for trading and managing crew members and work schedules. We started with the scoping phase where we discussed our ideas, timetable for completion, and goals.
After that was done, we set up four more steps in the development, such as information collection, the coding and development process, testing and reviewing, and designing the overall look of the app — this includes the logo, color scheme, and website. Furthermore, the app is compatible with the iOS and Android platforms.
What is the team composition?
I mainly work with the project manager, who delegates the work to the entire team.
How did you come to work with Appsnado?
I was searching for app developers online when I came across Appsnado. I spoke with Ali (Director of Product Strategy) and he made me feel comfortable about working with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve invested around $25,000 USD.
What is the status of this engagement?
The ongoing partnership started in September 2017.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The app itself is finished and we’re just putting together the content and privacy policy that need to go along with the app. The measurement of success is built upon what they’ve delivered, such as the app and the website — so far, I’ve been really happy with the results.
We’ve initially experienced some bugs, but they've since fixed it so everything has been working smoothly now.
How did Appsnado perform from a project management standpoint?
Their project management is great. They stick to the deadlines and the project manager made sure everything was on point. We typically use Basecamp to manage every aspect of the development, and Skype, Zoom, text, and email to communicate.
What did you find most impressive about them?
One of the highlights of the partnership is their communication. Their response time has been stellar and they always get back to me whenever I contact them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
It would be better if they stick to one platform of communication, and loop everyone from their team in the process.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
What worked for me was having a plan on what we wanted to achieve. I had all my ideas written down on paper, and they were able to materialize them to make an app.
Stakeholders are happy with Appsnado’s work. Their step-by-step approach to the project has helped the client monitor their progress, and they’ve been doing everything according to the firm’s requirements. They’re also communicative, which has been instrumental in the success of the engagement.
