General QA chores include planning tests, writing test cases, running tests, writing and fixing bugs, automating tests, and reporting on the status and results of all of these things. All of these things can be traced back to BastionZero's business requirements and fit with project’s release schedule.
Activities for Functional Testing: Create a method for functional testing that fits with the rapid development method. Set up tests for all Apps to make sure they work. Set up and use a method for managing tests and finding bugs.

I'm the product manager at a leading smart locker company and we hired AppSierra to test both our app. The goal is to also getting them to test our hardware as well for a full end to end test.

When we were looking at all the applicants for the position AppSierra really stood out as very professional and went quite in-depth with their feedback to the tasks we assigned to them, well above any of the other competition.

We had a kickoff meeting to discuss our needs and requirements and AppSierra came back with an in-depth document on their strategy they were going to implement via manual testing of both of our main web apps. The next step for AppSierra is to do automated testing which they said they would happily provide, it's really great how they have a solution to any problems we might have testing wise.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I believe we've worked with two of their manual testers, one being replaced by the second when they were no longer available, the transition was flawless between these two and we did not need to provide further training as they did it themselves.

Without going too specific, I can say it is an app adored by esports gamers worldwide. As we added new features and games, by integrating various APIs, we frequently encountered unpredictable results. So we required a person to download nightly builds and go through the app with fresh eyes every time and try to break things, and articulate the problems in such a way that it was repeatable and easy to understand for the app team.

They could update us on the progress of the work every 2 hours. because. we wanted the work to be complete as soon as possible. We had a good working term between the teams.

Increased automated tests have helped us immensely. Since the engagement, the automated tests have increased by 50%. The increased coverage has helped catch many bugs during development and deployment to production.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The QA engineer was part of our team. He attended daily stand-up and provided a summary of tests written at the end of the month. Communication was through Slack and Google meet.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The assigned QA engineer was of high quality. Was open for negotiation based on the contract duration. We started off with a 3-month engagement with the understanding that we would extend if both parties see value in it. Happy that we just extended by 3 more months. Intend to continue the engagement in the future as well.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
We are also looking for web application development. Unfortunately, they didn't have anybody available. If they could expand the offering, it would have helped us consolidate all consulting needs.

The manual testing has provided confidence that our application is stable and functioning. The amount of progress we have made with automation testing has been incredible. We use a custom CLI that the team has been able to get accustomed to and we can now run hundreds of automated tests before deploying.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Communication has been sufficiently managed over Zoom and Slack. We have a weekly standup at the start of the week and have plenty of dialog over Slack throughout the week. The team sends end of day and end of week summaries which are great to understand and track progress.

The team was very quick to onboard and begin testing. They have been incredibly thorough and have proved to be an invaluable part of the QA process.
