Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of OMY Beauty Co. We provide rental suites for our clients.
What challenge were you trying to address with Applicoding?
Applicoding created a mobile app for me and my clients. Through the app, I could send notifications and collect payments. My customers wouldn’t have to go through anybody, and they could do things in their own time and convenience. If they were on a trip or a different location, they could use the app to pay rent conveniently.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I asked Applicoding to create a simple app where candidates could fill out an application form for me to gauge their appropriateness to the suites. The Applicoding team also worked on the app’s design. They asked me questions, and they started building the platform based on my answers.
The app should help me save so much money on management and employees. It must also contain educational content as well as rules and regulations that everybody should follow to ensure all our locations had the same theme and colors. Applicoding also helped me launch the app.
What is the team composition?
We worked with two developers and one manager, who was our main point of contact.
How did you come to work with Applicoding?
I found them through word of mouth. I had a friend who had a business in Las Vegas, and he told me about Applicoding, describing them as new but highly efficient. As a result, I called them and started working with them.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested around $55,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project lasted from November 2020–March 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The results were great. My customers were happy, and I gained 80 renters and about 60 app users. We also didn’t experience any bugs or errors. Working with Applicoding was a pleasant experience. They walked me through the whole project as they were building the app. They were patient while telling me everything. On top of that, Dante (Mobile Developer) was so nice to me.
How did Applicoding perform from a project management standpoint?
I’d rate their project management highly. If I saw something I didn’t like, I’d simply call or send them an email. Then, they’d respond in an hour or less. Overall, the communication wasn’t hard even though they were in a different state. I never met them in person, but we did plenty of video calls. We also talked over the phone and online.
Moreover, they were young, and I liked their enthusiasm. I was a bit old-fashioned so I wanted to bring something new and innovative, and the Applicoding team made everything possible for me. They also adjusted well to my requests; when I told them to make changes, they would give me options. On top of that, time was never an issue for us even though I was in Las Vegas and they were in Colorado. Overall, they were so easy to work with.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Applicoding’s communication and guidance were impressive. I didn’t come from the US; I was from Peru. As a result, it was a bit hard for me to communicate and express myself. However, Applicoding made it easy for us to communicate by describing the whole process to me.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there weren’t any.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be yourself. Tell them exactly what you want because they’ll work with you. Answer all their questions, and give them the information they need. They also won’t push you when it comes to timeframes.
For context, I worked with another company before, and they were very pushy. As an entrepreneur, I had different jobs, so I couldn’t just give them specific time estimates. Meanwhile, Applicoding made it easy for me to deal with such timeframes.
The client’s customers were happy with the app, which worked well and didn’t have any bugs. Overall, the Applicoding team delivered and impressed the firm with their expertise, patience, and communication skills. They were also responsive and enthusiastic throughout their engagement with the firm.
