The team worked with us to produce online ads for our campaign, animating static creative produced in-house and providing critical advice for the technical aspects and ongoing optimisation.
What were your goals for this project?
As a result of the COVID-19 crisis, our income has dropped 60% which puts the frontline support we provide to young cancer patients at risk. So we wanted to reach as wide an audience as possible with our emergency appeal. With an offer of free online inventory from a national newspaper, we were keen to for the ads to be as eye-catching as possible.

I was fortunate to have been introduced to Appetite through a mutual connection. From the initial phone call with Jen, it was clear they had industry expertise and experience in abundance. In fact I’m pretty sure I came away better educated!

Through a series of follow up emails and phone calls, Appetite gathered an understanding of what we were aiming to achieve, both now and in future. They put together all the creative for the online ads and provided advice on ad servers and associated costings for that. Jen also made extra follow-up calls to make sure things were on track and we would get the most out of the online campaign.

I worked closely with Jenny Stanley, Founder and Managing Director, and also with Nicolle Brisbane on the design.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
This campaign has just begun. But initial results indicate the animated ads are performing better.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Both Jenny and Nicolle were both incredibly supportive. Jenny was my main contact day to day and I liaised with Nicolle on the creative production and delivery. I spoke with Jenny almost daily in the setup phase and immediately following launch. The timescales they worked to were short but they made it look effortless getting it done on time – even with a mistake to correct (on our side).

Myself and the client leads considered three creative agencies in the process of selecting Appetite. We were looking for an agency that would recognise the opportunity for growth with us and also demonstrate creativity to the process and flexibility. From the outset Appetite made us feel that they absolutely understood our goal, didn't over complicate the process and gave us tangible deliverables very quickly - which we could test and develop from. We clearly weren't Appetites biggest live brief or potential opportunity - but they made us feel like we had their complete attention.

This was a simple brief, didn't involve a huge investment, but was very important for us and the growth of our service delivery to the clients. The brief was to develop a number of teaser treatments that would encourage discussion and exploration of more sophisticated data driven programmatic campaigns. Appetite supported the ideation process, then delivered working treatments from limited source assets.

Our main contact day-to-day was MD & Founder Jenny Stanley, but throughout the process we were connected to the Appetite developer working on the asset. Our side involved client leads and a developer, all of whom fed back positively on how the relationship worked.

These guys work very hard. I’m the marketing manager at Tetra Pak. We serve Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

What challenge were you trying to address with Appetite Creative Solutions?
We needed help understanding and implementing digital enablers like QR codes to connect with our customers, which are largely food and beverage manufacturers. Our team needed to discover what knowledge and benefits this technology could bring to our company.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We worked on a three-way campaign with their team and one of our clients in Switzerland. Tetra Pak and Appetite Creative Solutions aimed to highlight the benefits of the client’s modern brand through packaging. We did this in two ways. The first involved creating a fresh website for the customer, which focused on lifestyle imagery, clear information, and interactive qualities.
The second part of the campaign was supported by Appetite Creative Solutions. With them, we launched an interactive online quiz meant to educate consumers on the benefits of their dairy products.
Consumers enter the quiz by scanning a one-use QR code on all beverage products. That takes them to a competition site where they’re shown a graphic detailing the total hours of sunlight per day in their current location. They went through three questions with a roulette-style quiz. After answering the questions, they have the chance to enter a prize draw by inputting their personal details. A winner was randomly selected every few days.
In this engagement, they were responsible for the development, interactivity, UX, and graphics. The web app and site are mobile-friendly.
What is the team composition?
I worked directly with Jennifer (Managing Director, Appetite Creative Solutions), who coordinated the project. There were also two other people working alongside her.
How did you come to work with Appetite Creative Solutions?
We had worked with them on a previous, smaller project. They performed well there and were easy to work with. At that point, they understood our style and ethics. We had faith that they could handle the project quickly and professionally.
How much have you invested with them?
Our end customer invested about $50,000 in their services. We did not financially invest in their services for this project.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started the project in June 2019, and the initial contest wrapped in December 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Everything was handled very well by Appetite Creative Solutions. In the three-party partnership, they made sure that everyone was on the same page. Because of their help, the whole campaign was precise and professional with quick turnaround times. Our customer is very happy with the end result. We achieved exactly what we wanted to achieve.
How did Appetite Creative Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?
They were very clear, and it was easy for us to get in touch with them. We had multiple channels of communication with them and the customer. Their expertise and suggestions on what could be done to optimize the end product were appreciated by all parties.
When we ran into problems, they offered solutions to bolster the KPIs for the products. They were also working in German for this project. While it isn’t their mother tongue, there were no problems with communication. Everything was quick and clear from the beginning.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They have ideas and expertise that pushed us toward the best end product. Instead of blindly following our brief, they gave us feedback to benefit the collaboration. They were also very flexible, allowing for personal, quick service.

They can improve by continuing to provide their expertise. Even in the beginning, while you’re still going over your brief, they could help companies by shedding light on data analytics and what could be captured with their help. I’d recommend that they continue to strengthen these skills.

Have a clear challenge in mind, considering the type of data and experience you want to create. Then, be open and listen to their team for a great working solution.

We were impressed by how quickly they worked when we asked for changes that we hadn’t initially specified. Also, their managing director and technical director became heavily involved even though our project was small.

I am the former managing director for AnyClip, an AI-driven video content data analysis solution.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Appetite Creative?
I engaged Jennifer Stanley [Founder and Managing Director, Appetite Creative] to help us rebuild our website, re-engage with our users and customers, and help us create clarity in our messaging.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
One of the key features and functionality that we wanted for the website was a data recording counter to tell us who was visiting our site. They also provided us with a newsletter recording environment, and we wanted to make sure that the website was as simple to integrate with third-party analysis tools as possible. Above all, we wanted to be consistent in our messaging across the board. Jennifer’s team at Appetite Creative also engaged with adjusting our brand and communication identity with consumers, whether that be on email or presentation templates, or other related products. Although I am no longer with AnyClip, I know that they are still working together.
What is the team composition?
My interactions were solely with Jennifer. Although she has a full team behind her, I do not care for liaising with many different people on a project. I prefer having one entity with whom I work, and Jennifer is more than capable of filling that role.
How did you come to work with Appetite Creative?
We went through a pitch mechanic with a number of other companies bidding for our contract. I had worked with Jennifer and her team on a previous work engagement at which they had excelled, so they made it onto our pitch list immediately. During the pitch process, they beat everybody else that we had lined up; Appetite Creative simply stole the show.
How much have you invested with them?
As of when I left, we had invested around $15,000 USD.
What is the status of this engagement?
We engaged their services around January 2017. Although I am no longer with AnyClip, they are continuing to work with Appetite Creative to this day.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Anecdotally, the perception change of our business was material. We managed to clear up a number of complicated offerings that we have in the market, and Appetite Creative helped us do that. With regard to concrete metrics, our inbound leads increased by 20 percent and the conversion rate of those leads increased exponentially.
How did Appetite Creative perform from a project management standpoint?
They performed very well from a project management standpoint. We did a lot of maintenance conversations via WhatsApp, our project management via email, and larger conversations via telephone, all of which was largely dictated by my own working style.
There was a fair amount of complexity involved in working with AnyClip, due in part to delays because of both time zones and religious holidays. It is an Israeli business, and Appetite Creative was adept at cutting through any social and cultural barriers that might have complicated work between a Western and an Israeli company.
Their management of all the moving parts was just brilliant; we have been delighted to work with them. They not only met all the deadlines that were given to them, but also occasionally improved upon them. If there were going to be any timing issues, they informed us far in advance of the deadline.
Finally, they took care to make sure that they absolutely understood what we wanted and were trying to achieve, and then went above and beyond to deliver exactly that.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Jennifer’s involvement in the project really differentiates Appetite Creative from the other similar companies on the market. She both owns and runs the business, and is materially involved in all the projects on which they work. That makes a big difference. They may have issues with scaling up further down the line, but for now, it’s her heart and soul, her brand, and her business. Because she is so heavily involved, it works. I would be happy to both recommend Appetite and engage their services again for both current and future ventures.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Have a very clear idea of what you want to achieve before engaging with them—but that is true of every element of a business. Just be straightforward about what you need and they will move heaven and earth to make sure they deliver.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the senior manager of integrated sales and marketing for a digital sales company. We work with various web publishers in the U.S. I report to our senior director, who oversees everything from presales to postsales. Aside from coming up with editorial ideas, we also work on things like high-impact units for game overlays, mock requests, etc.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What challenge were you trying to address with Appetite Creative Solutions?
We were looking for new vendors we could use on different projects, allowing us to have a faster turnaround time and innovative solutions.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
We have implemented various campaigns with them. Together, we’ve come up with ideas for games, high-impact ads, and design mockups, with the project managers handling execution. They’ve helped us create interscroller ads for kids’ sites, including one for an upcoming movie that has a sliding puzzle and 2 other challenges.
We either brainstorm with Jenny [Managing Director & Founder, Appetite Creative Solutions] or we simply relay what the client wants. If there’s time, they will come back to us with a mockup or a general description of what they can do, along with the costing. When we sell it to the client, we will take the scope and send it to the project manager on the production side. They will then start gathering assets from the client and building the material as per scope. Since we need to optimize projects on our own publishing sites, we make sure that they understand this direction.
What is the team dynamic?
We usually interact with their main manager, who has designers across different offices. We will work with whoever is available, usually 2–3 people at a time.
How did you come to work with Appetite Creative Solutions?
I’ve been with the company for less than a year, so I wasn’t here when our company first approached Appetite. I believe we had an existing connection with their company. They originally made a pitch to our U.K. office, and we decided to engage their firm for a bigger contract that includes Canada.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Appetite in October or November 2016. Recently, we renewed our agreement.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The client was pleased with our work for the kids’ website.
How did Appetite Creative Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?
They usually work quickly, building mockups within 2 days or less, depending on the complexity. It took them 2 ½ days to do a slot-machine project that was a bit more complicated.
We’re based in Canada, and they’re in Europe, so we have to be aware of the time difference. They’ve worked overnight at times in order to accommodate this.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’ve appreciated their overall service. Jenny will Skype me if something new comes up. They’re hands-on, accommodating, and creative.
Are there any areas they could improve?
When we exchange multiple emails, 1 or 2 will get missed or someone will be left out. Our standard procedure is to have the whole team copied on emails so that someone else can pick up the project if someone’s away. Fortunately, Appetite is getting better at this. They’ve usually worked with individuals, but we’re a larger team.
