Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the CIO of a labor safety institution.
What challenges were you trying to address with Andes Digital?
The first challenge was to modernize our integration (via API manager) with a platform through which we manage the services and institutions that we collaborate with.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They designed and implemented this integration. The platform is based in OpenShift and implemented on an infrastructure based in a data center we have. After that project, we’ve continued collaborating with them to provide technical support services.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked with five people: a senior architect, a resource in charge of implementation and habilitation, and three more people.
How did you come to work with Andes Digital?
One of the main reasons why we decided to work with them was that they have plenty of certifications with different skills such as architecture, implementation, etc. This helped us be certain that they managed the product very well. They’re a new service provider for us so we felt like giving them a try with a first project. We were very happy with the results.
How much have you invested in them?
We’ve spent about $65,000 on services only.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in December 2019 and finished in March. At the moment we are collaborating for support services.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
In our business area, this project allowed us to accelerate the processes for collecting information. Before, we used to do this by hand and via email, which was very hard to process. We are now reducing the process to just minutes. We also have expense control now, and that has been very important for our institute.
As for our users, there was a bit of resistance at first to incorporating the new technology, and we managed to preserve a successful delivery of information.
How did Andes Digital perform from a project management standpoint?
We have our own project management technologies. We use Scrum, so they had to adapt to that. They didn’t have any issues with that and they were always involved and compromised on making the project deliverable on time. Their communication was also great.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The execution was flawless and quick. Their proactivity helped us accelerate the process.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We have given them our feedback personally. What we believe is that they could have a more extensive team to be able to take on multiple and concurrent projects.
The integration has increased business process efficiency, and customers have come around to adopting the new solution. Andes Digital was flexible in adopting established project management procedures. Future clients will encounter a fast-moving partner that takes initiative.
