Feedback summary:

The platform has reached 8,000–9,000 active users and generated $15,000, ultimately helping the company to expand. Amplemind’s project management tools facilitated prompt communication and project transparency. Their service could only benefit further from more accurate timing around delivery.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder of Pitz, a startup mobile platform that allows organizers to create teams, join tournaments, and access tournament information. Our main presence is in Mexico and the U.S. Hispanic market.

What challenge were you trying to address with Amplemind?

We worked with Amplemind in the beginning to develop our web platform as well as our iOS and Android app for venue managers.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They used Firebase to develop the web platform, Swift for the iOS version, and Java for Android.

What is the team composition?

We had two team members for web development and around six for mobile.

How did you come to work with Amplemind?

We met their owner at different entrepreneur and technology events. They presented their portfolio of work and experience. We compared them with two other local developers as well.

We chose Amplemind because of their attention, closeness, proposed project timelines, and dedication. They understood our specifications and what we were trying to accomplish.

How much have you invested in them?

The cost was approximately $180,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started integrating the technology in early 2016 and finished in October 2016. We’ve continued growing and are currently putting together an internal development team. Amplemind now provides support.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our first version has reached 20,000 players and has around 8,000–9,000 active users. We made $15,000 off this original version but are now monetizing it in another way. Our company also grew from three to nine people.

How did Amplemind perform from a project management standpoint?

We used Trello for advances and deliverables. We were able to view screens ang go through our tickets as well. We had very prompt communication via Slack. We were able to see what they were working on along with the project’s progress.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It wasn’t a cheap option within the local market, but we liked their flexibility and ability to educate us in both technical and formal terms. They helped us a great deal and understood our requirements as a startup. They were accommodating to changes we requested. Communication between our small team and Amplemind’s leaders was constant.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could improve their timing and costs. These kinds of things cause complications for a startup with limited resources. They could also use a testing tool to ease this process. However, everything turned out well in the end.

Overall Score We had a very good experience working with them.
