I’m the sales development director for a scale-up business that focuses on DaaS. We provide free database energy in the cloud for digital companies. I also manage our development team globally across North America, EMEA, and APAC.

We hired them for their business development services.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Amiy serves as our business development partner. We don’t have resources in place across different countries, so they provide us with business development specialists who already have an understanding of the markets, speak the local language, and can help us set up first meetings with potential customers.

For instance, if we want to open a branch in Indonesia, they will find local people that speak the language. They then train them, ensure that they meet our requirements, and manage them directly. The work mainly involves looking for prospects that can potentially turn into customers, but they do not close deals for us.

We work with four people from their team, including one of the founders.

An ex-colleague recommended them to me.

We’ve spent roughly $70,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the partnership around February 2021, and it is still ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’ve seen an increase in the number of opportunities created by their contacts — we’re getting at least 10 opportunities a month.

How did Amiy perform from a project management standpoint?

They are very good in terms of meeting deadlines and communicating with us. We have a channel where we can chat or jump on a call to fix something. Overall, they are always ready and available to help us.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication skills and the quality of their work are very good.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had some difficulties finding the right people, but that was during the pandemic. Now, everything is going well.

Know what and who you want to target.
