We are pleased to inform you that amc TECH is carrying out another project for the healthcare sector! In March we signed a contract with Infoscan company for the implementation of the  IoT device for sleep apnea monitoring and diagnosis. This device will record

various types of biological signals and send them via GSM 📶 to a dedicated telemedicine system. Among others, the device will consist of a pulse oximetry module (POX), breathing disorders module (BDDS), and ECG/EEG/EMG module.

Recently amc TECH has completed two #iot projects for the Res Solution company. Our client is a Polish start-up that offers automated control and monitoring of energy-consuming devices.

💡🏠 Within the first project, we made a system for measuring

and controlling the consumption of electricity. The device detects the absence of the household in the room using sensors and automatically turns off devices connected to the network, the operation of which is currently undesirable.

🌡️🏠 Next, we created the wireless thermostatic valve that allows remote control of the home heating system from your smartphone. By using the BLE and LoRA protocols enables temperature settings from anywhere in the world.

Our company is called Toolco and it is a manufacturer of high-quality packaging and roof accessories, as well as custom-made wire and sheet metal elements. I’m the process engineer.

For what projects/services did your company hire AMC TECH, and what were your goals?

We decided to expand our business and spread our product range with a smart ventilation system. We needed a proven technology partner who would be able to deliver for us ready-market product.

Amc Tech provided hardware and software development support. They created a smart ventilation system for controlling the quality of indoor air around the clock including CO2, humidity and volatile organic compounds.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

Due to the fact that we received a grant from the European Union funds, we were obliged to announce a tender. Amc Tech presented the best terms of cooperation and became our subcontractor.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Amc Tech provided a full range of engineering services. They designed whole electronics for sensors and the central unit. The sensors are connected with the central unit wirelessly using the 868 MHz protocol.

Due to that fact, the ventilation level per area is controlled completely automatically to measure air quality. From the software side, they developed a dedicated mobile app that allows remote ventilation management and scheduling of the system. All the data can be also shown via web portal in a computer browser.

Data from the sensors are stored in a personalized cloud solution. When it comes to the mechanical part, Amc Tech designed for us enclosures for sensors and the central unit. They also helped us to reach manufacturer of injection molds.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

There were 12 people involved in our projects included: software developers (backend, frontend, mobile, cloud) electronic engineers (PCB designers, Testers, low-level developers) and mechanical constructors.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The results were positive and the project was successful. We were very happy with their work. The smart ventilation system expands our portfolio and allowed us to reach a new market segment.

They did meet all of our deadlines. We had excellent workflow and they always kept us up to date with all progress. We communicated via Slack and Skype. From time to time, we had personal meetings where we discussed and analysed potential risks and plan new tasks.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They are very competitive from a price and productivity perspective. We also appreciate their flexibility to provide us with additional support on demand.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

We were very satisfied with their work an engagement, so I can’t think of anything.

What were your goals for this project?

The goal is to create a functional industrial product for monitoring the machine condition based on machine vibration by analysing vibration signals. It allows detection of failures of rotating machines and identification of damaged elements such as bearings, gears and shafts.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

After interviews with several companies, we selected Amc Tech based on their familiarity with the scope of work and their clear existing expertise and market base in the field.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

The vibration monitoring system was split into hardware, software and mechanical parts. For the hardware element they designed a vibration sensor based on MEMS technology. The engineers designed electronic schematics, PCB layouts and embedded software. The software part related to designing the interface for event monitoring, data viewing, data analysis and configuration. The mechanical part was related to design of the enclosure to industrial specifications and mechanical response requirements.

What was the team composition?

We have a number of engineers, developers, designers and QA working with us on an ongoing basis.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

The system is still under the development stage . After the first prototype of system was delivered by Amc we can say that we’re heading in the right direction and are starting pilot trials with some customers. The PoC met all our expectations and we really appreciate the quality of work which Amc gave us.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The workflow between our companies is effective. We have weekly and biweekly email and conference call communication and have been happy with the on-time delivery. The team is motivated to achieve the best results and brings as much value as possible. Their response times were very fast, and they gave us great constructive feedback.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They combine electronic, software, mechanical design, and expertise in the condition monitoring market all under one roof which was really helpful for us. They cared about each details.

We reached out to AMC TECH to develop a bus fleet management system that can help us transform our diagnostic of busses. The system consisted of both hardware and software development.

What were your goals for this project?

Solaris Bus & Coach gave AMC TECH an assignment to develop a wireless system for diagnostics of bus vehicles. Its purpose was to simplify, automate and accelerate the process of bus diagnostics. The intended solution was supposed to be consistent with an existing vehicles’ architecture and software, allow remote monitoring and ensure easy upgrade of the system with new functionalities in the future (compatibility with drivers of bus subsystems).

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

I found them through our network of friends based on the context of what we were trying to do. I didn't know any of the team beforehand.

Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.

The development of the Bus fleet management system required a complete design of the architecture, based on technical documentation of the vehicle and fulfilling functional requirements such as: unification of interface, simplification of access to data collection, creation of a platform for data analysis and storage, as well as possibility to integrate complex diagnostic algorithms.

The system implemented by AMC TECH comprises of: communication interface through CAN bus, K-Line communication module, wideband router, main diagnostic interfaces computer and central diagnostic computer. Access to the full information about vehicle’s condition is carried out through KWP-2000 diagnostic interface according to SAEJ1939 standard.

Supported communication technologies are WiFi, LAN, WAN and GPRS, which allows the operator to conduct remote diagnostics of any vehicle around the world, before sending maintenance staff on site.

The monitored vehicle’s parameters are, among others: pressure and breaking system, doors, air conditioning, velocity, dynamics of movement, fuel consumption, location, etc. The system allows to launch monitoring and diagnostics application in the local maintenance base, and, using XBAP technology, in a web browser.

What was the team composition?

We had one main point of contact who was our project manager from AMC TECH, and he manage team which consisted of 8-12 people depending on the stage of the project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

In 2012 the first working version of the device and interface was developed. Thanks to the wireless diagnostic system for bus vehicles, the Solaris company is able to deliver to its customers a technically advanced service of remote monitoring and diagnostics.

This solution significantly reduces repair costs and increases maintenance quality. Thanks to the use of the GSM technology, it is possible to better prepare the engineers for field repairs, and even to conduct some of them remotely.

On the other hand the remote monitoring feature allows to improve logistics, optimize planned and unplanned vehicles’ stoppages, thanks to the possibility to record errors, fuel consumption on selected routes, temperature of cooling liquid or charged air (to analyze if heat exchangers were selected correctly).

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

The workflow with AMC TECH was very well implemented and managed. The project manager was very responsive and ensured that communications were maintained continuously. We had weekly calls and personal meetings.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

I most admired AMC TECH’s professionalism and expertise. Their resources are highly skilled. Regarding project management, they had excellent response times and customer service.

What were your goals for this project?

The purpose of building L.H.S is to provide emergency system for companies. The smart first aid point allows immediate assistance to people in case of accidents in the workplace. The L.H.S. assists you in making right decisions while the paramedics arrive, greatly improving the chances of recovery and survival. LHS in will be informed of best possible steps to take under a variety of emergency situations. The kit provides first aid support in case of light and serious injuries. Builtin touchscreen display is used to access instruction on how to perform different procedures If additional assistance is required beyond the built-in instructions, the smart first aid-kit can video-connect with oncall health experts to provide personalized assistance in more complicated situations.

I did online research and came across with their website. They had huge experience in R&D project and extensive portfolio with completed projects for various industries. After couple meetings they convinced me that they have the right skills to create L.H.S properly.

In the project AMC performs the following works Phase 1 : Design of mechanical part of LHS: housing development, industrial design. Phase 2: Hardware development- Development of external circuit board which to control special components like lights, backlights, lock of the drawers and power supply. Phase 3 : Software development Creating software which enable connect you more quickly to the rescue center. Phase 4. Assembly services of final L.H.S.

The team involved one mechanical engineer, one electronic designer, 2 software engineers, one automation engineer and project coordinator.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

After 6 months of development AMC TECH delivered to my headquarter first MVP of L.H.S. I was positive surprised about AMC work. This prototype was really functional and meet all requirements which were establish during specification of product. Of course there were some missing but it was just prototype to prove a concept. In next 3 months AMC delivered us market-ready product which I could tested with end users and clients and have received overwhelmingly positive feedback.

We communicated effectively via a few different channels including Skype. They were always following up with us and resolving any issues that arose.

What did you find most impressive about this company?
