The goal was to create a web portal and a mobile application to help service the service industry. AltoLeap Inc. listened to our idea and created a proposal for our vision. We wanted several features, such as:

• Develop a custom, user-friendly and intuitive interface Configure, Price, Quote (CPQ) application that allows the generation of more quickly and accurate quote for new pre-engineering steel buildings.
• Implement a robust item/part catalog management system to ensure accurate and up-to-date part information, including pricing and specifications.
• Enable a comprehensive configuration engine that allows user to customize building options and accessories based on end-customers' specific requirements.
• Enable quote generation functionality that automatically generates professional-looking and branded quotes based on the configured product, pricing, and customer details, reducing manual efforts and ensuring consistency.
• Implement a robust approval workflow system to manage quote approval processes, including multi-level approval hierarchies, escalations, and notifications, ensuring timely and efficient processing.

We needed a semi-automated online quoting platform for pricing and quoting our buildings. This platform needed to be robust enough to handle changing business needs as our company expanded in the future. 

It needed to be able to provide a sensible breakdown of the various components of the building being quoted, and yet give our salespeople the option to include or exclude any component in the final quote that is presented to the client. It needed to be fast enough to cut down our standard quoting time by at least 25%, and have a 100% accuracy score. All these components were included and delivered on time, in two phases.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

• Decreased Average Quote Turnaround Time: The average time taken from quote generation to its acceptance or rejection. A decrease in the quote turnaround time signifies increased efficiency and responsiveness in the sales process.
• Increased Quote Accuracy: Increased accuracy and consistency of the quotes processed through the CPQ system. The higher quote/order accuracy indicates the effectiveness of the CPQ solution in eliminating errors and reducing order discrepancies.
• Improved Sales Personnel Onboarding Time: Achieve a notable reduction in the time required to onboard new sales personnel to the team. By eliminating the need to rely on memory for a vast number of configuration rules, the CPQ system enables quicker onboarding of new sales members.
