ALTO Visuals has managed the advertising and media campaigns of a clothing line over the course of several releases. Their work includes film photography, studio and lifestyle photography, and video direction.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the creative director of a small clothing company called nice as heck. We focus on producing stylish and functional streetwear-inspired clothing.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with ALTO Visuals?

We wanted to run an advertising campaign when one of our clothing lines released. Our challenge was finding someone who was easy to communicate with and offered a fair price but also gave us professional, quality work.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’ve actually done 2–3 campaigns for us over the span of two years. For our initial collection, they filmed and photographed a short social video, including studio photos and then some more lifestyle photos outside. In our second one, they just handled the photography. In the most recent campaign, they directed and filmed part of the release to post on our website and social media as well.

What is the team composition?

Over the course of the shoots, we worked with Andres (Co-Founder, ALTO Visuals) and Loucas Co-Founder, ALTO Visuals) as our main points of contact, as well as with two other directors from their team. They outsource from there as necessary, for a stylist and a colorist on two separate occasions so far.

How did you come to work with ALTO Visuals?

I’d known them before choosing their team for the project.

How much have you invested with them?

I would say we’ve spent a little under $5,000 for all of the campaigns so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started with them in February 2018 and are planning to continue working with them on projects in the future.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

When we released the video, our page views immediately jumped from around 70 a day to a little over 250, which is a 400% increase. In terms of the video engagement, I’d say we had about a 200%-300% increase in clicks and around a 300% increase in sales. Every single time we’ve done a promotion with ALTO Visuals, it’s driven sales by at least 200%.

How did ALTO Visuals perform from a project management standpoint?

They do a great job with project management. Every project we’ve asked ALTO Visuals to do they’ve actually completed a week or two early. For this one specifically, they gave it to us the week before our planned deadline. Communication with them is always very fast, and we can generally count on them to get back to us within an hour or so through phone or email.

We also have a pretty similar creative vision, so all of our work together has been really collaborative. They’re really good at generating ideas to bounce back and forth, keeping us moving towards the final product.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I think the quality of what you’re receiving for the cost is probably the best part of ALTO Visuals for me. Not only are you getting a super professional product at a competitive price, but you’re also getting a process in which they listen to your needs and initial ideas in order to deliver that product.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I have no complaints whatsoever.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It’s important not to be afraid to put all of your ideas on the table no matter how crazy or abstract you think they might be. ALTO Visuals will be able to find a way to make it work. They proved us wrong quite a few times, and that’s what is going to take your final product from good to excellent in the end.
