We hired them to handle direct sales on behalf of some of our Fortune 500 clients.

We provided them with an initial wireframe, so to speak, of our expectations and the standards our clients are looking for. They run an independent office, recruit their own staff, and go out door-to-door on behalf of the clients they’re assigned to.

What is the team composition?

We primarily worked with their CEO, but their president was also part of the team.

I knew both of their team members from a previous job.

We’ve spent somewhere between $100,000–$250,000.

We started working together in December 2017, and the relationship is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Their CEO has been a real asset for us. She’s extremely authentic, leads well, and does a great job of recruiting people. She serves others well while still focusing on results.

How did Alpha Marketing Strategies perform from a project management standpoint?

We didn’t have a traditional project management setup. We mostly kept an eye on whether or not they met their KPIs in terms of bringing over consumers. They did an excellent job of delivering on the things they promised.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re all about their people. I’ve worked in this industry for a long time and their team, and I’m highly impressed by their dedication. They’re fully committed to the business and work hard to deliver, day or night.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Not really. It’s our job to support them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don’t try to manage them. They’re great entrepreneurs, and they get results. If you’re hiring them, it’s to fulfill a need you can’t meet in-house, so collaborate with them rather than trying to make them conform to your system.

Alpha Marketing Strategies is a reseller that runs door-to-door sales of our products. We give specific instruction in terms of how they go out and prospect and find new business in Northern California. We don't, however, set sales quotas for our partners.

Our primary contact is Nelson, CEO of Alpha Marketing Strategies. 

How did you come to work with Alpha Marketing Strategies? 

A partner referred them to us. 

How much have you invested with them?

They work on a pay-to-play model, so they're paid for the sales that they produce. At this point, the cost is approaching $1 million.

What is the status of this engagement? 

We started working together at the end of 2017, and the engagement is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We've seen a lot of positive growth in Northern California that is directly attributed to their efforts. Alpha Marketing Strategies brings about 1,000 new customers to the business every year. They've been a great partner for us.

How did Alpha Marketing Strategies perform from a project management standpoint? 

Their team is excellent. They have the ability to take a little direction from us and run with it. They follow our script quite well, so I give them high marks on that. Our main form of communication is the phone, but we email and meet in-person as well. We have weekly check-ins, if not more frequently. 

What did you find most impressive about them? 

Alpha Marketing Strategies runs great systems that allow them to plug in new employees. They've got great training programs that quickly teach new employees the necessary skills. That's a big reason they've been so successful. 

Are there any areas they could improve? 

Right now, everything they've done is great. I don't have a whole lot of negative to say. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers? 

Understand that the nature of their business is a door-to-door sales operation, which is not for everybody.
