Ardor Web Design and Dev
Ardor Architecture is one of the most well known Architectural firms in Vietnam. They are considered the top 10 premier architectural firms. Some of their notable clients include Landmark 81, Taka Garden Riverside Homes, and Esuhai Tower. Working with this caliber of a client was eye opening and challenging. As an architect firm, they needed a website that matched the pixel perfect and clean design as they design in their buildings. Align was able to meet this high quality design demand through iterative process and using tools such as stylescapes, style guides, low and high fidelity prototyping to mitigate repetitive design changes and to meet Ardor’s rigorous design requirements.

The client’s business has been growing extraordinarily recently as the need for AI is growing. Their’s customers are big enterprises and governments. But their brand is not reflecting their unprecedented growth. Align has partnered with an American agency to rebrand and redesign their website.
The new website’s design has reflected Data Society’s new brand strategy. The content flow and the graphic elements have worked together hamorniously to tell the story in a way that their audiences perceive Data Society as the leader in data science training.
"Previously, people would call us after looking at our website and ask us to explain what we did. On top of that, we'd never had a lead on our website in seven years. By contrast, we've received 13 leads from it last week. In other words, our ability to tell our story clearly has truly improved."

In addition, all the information is easy to read, with large titles and text.

Mercedes-Benz & Freightliner

The Mercedes-Benz app design is clean and light to give it a more luxurious look.
The Freightliner Sprinter brand app is dark and rough to make it more suitable for heavy-duty use.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Head of Marketing for ARDOR Group. We are a full-service construction firm that included an architecture design division, an interior design division, a design and build division, and a building certification consulting service.
For what projects/services did your company hire Align.vn, and what were your goals?
Our website was created about ten years ago and was so outdated that it no longer reflects our aesthetic value and the firm's creative nature. The website turned many investors and potential staff away from ARDOR. Therefore, we hired Align to redesign a new website that is more in line with the firm standards to better reflect our passion and creativity.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We searched online for 10 different companies in Vietnam from all regions and shortlist them down to 5. Align offered a solution that is affordable yet more tech-savvy than similar firms at the same price point. Thus we went ahead with Align.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We started out with a kick-off meeting to go over what ARDOR wants and needs. After that, Align delivered a stylescape for us to have a sense of the new design. We spent months working on iterations and refining details. They did upload all of our content. After delivery, we spent one more month testing the website to make sure that everything was running properly
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Luan, the CEO was our main point of contact and quality assurance per our request. They also have another 2 technical guys that came to the meeting and fixed things with us directly on the go.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
After launching the website, gtmetrix changed our website rating from E to C. The new website was much faster and elaborated. We got a lot of compliments for the new design.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We had weekly check-ups with their manager. Since we architects had high standards for details and generally required everything to be perfect, it was very important that Align took up our words and was willing to sort every nook and corner out. They utilized Jambo to compare the current design to the one we wanted to adjust all text size and gaps or distance between objects.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They managed to offer a professional website that was so affordable compared to the effort that they put in. Luan, the CEO recorded all the instructions into videos that we can later watch and train our staff to edit the website.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
There were some communication issues when they initially handled the project but when we voiced our complaint, Luan stepped in and took time working with us and making sure everything smoothed out.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am communications consultant for an international aid organization.
For what projects/services did your company hire Align.vn?
We needed an e-book to cover the entire narrative of the textile industry and how our organization seeks to improve worker life and working standards - and the benefits to all when these standards are raised and monitored.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted a communication tool that would do the talking to a broad audience that required both a general overview and a detailed region by region program analysis. This was to serve as a baseline of information for any further discussion. It had to be easily accessible, easily digestible, and easily distributable.
How did you select Align.vn?
I had worked with the director of Align on previous promotional campaigns.
Describe the project in detail.
I brought the concept and the data to Align and we had a series of discussions on how to best present the material. It was decided to create an e-book, with a broad visual narrative with animation, infographics, and numerous links to external data sources. Align was tasked with translating the discussions into something real. Over the course of a couple of months, with expansion of the project, we developed a first-rate working draft e-book we could take to the organization's international communications department.
What was the team composition?
I dealt only with the project manager/director of Align.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We produced a layered, sophisticated e-book that I was confident would satisfy my aforementioned goals and act as a baseline for all audiences interested in the textile industry and our organization's projects to improve it.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
As noted previously, I met with the director routinely, and we would review and revise. It was easy and he had a great amount of patience, willingness to present ideas, and a trust-inspiring manner that let me know what could be done as well as what should not be done. I have no complaints, only compliments.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
As a communications officer, I am extremely aware of that customers can be their own worst enemies in producing a campaign. They can also make it extremely difficult on those who are attempting to satisfy a shifting/evolving sense of the project/product. Align never once balked at my requests for revisions, or the realities of dealing with an international organization that can suddenly have opinions/feedback arriving from all corners of the globe. They were professional when I would have been out of patience.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Quality control - sometimes the product in progress would have minor grammatical errors or slips that would require one last layer of copy editing/quality control before it reached me/the client.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I was a senior director at an e-commerce platform that enabled low income workers from Asia to purchase life-changing products online using their mobile device and a 0% interest installment payment play through their employer
For what projects/services did your company hire Align.vn, and what were your goals?
The website design and graphics needed a lot of improvement as the customer base began growing to millions of users and the site grew stale and unprofessional. A web app needed to be designed and developed.
Animated videos needed to be produced The goals were to enhance the UX/UI to accomodate users familiar with navigating online but not accustomed to downloading mobile apps. More innovative, visual and creative methods to share the value proposition were desired.
How did you select Align.vn and what were the deciding factors?
Align.vn, led by Luan Jenkins, presented the most interesting proposal, from both a project deliverable standpoint and a cost effective solution. The agency was also able to deliver everything and not bits and pieces.
They excel not only at front end graphic design for websites, but they were instrumental in driving the back end design, programming and test marketing for a sophisticated web application. Coupled with these advantages, they demonstrated capabilities in designing animated videos.
None of these services needed to be outsources as Align.vn drove everything in-house and essentially became the internal marketing, engineering and multimedia team.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
Had kick off meeting to discuss objectives. Team delivered a proposal with an explanation of the deliverables and case studies of their experience implementing each one. Align.vn was engaged to enhance the design of the informational website initially.
They developed a more fluid website with better pictures, unique icons that fit the company’s branding, and embedded animated videos to better inform site visitors. The agency was engaged to then design and develop the front and back end of a functional, e-commerce web app, as well as drive the UX/UI testing.
Align’s team was given dedicated space to operate in the office.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Luan was the Project Manager and key point of contact. He oversaw a team of designers and engineers, including a front end and a back end developer, several graphic designers and a video animator.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
After launching the enhanced website, the value proposition was more clearly on display to online visitors. In addition, users of our e-commerce site experienced a better UX/UI when purchasing retail products on the web application.
Additionally, the services expanded to 10 countries regionally and the website and animated videos, with align's leadership, was translated into multiple languages thus reaching millions of people.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
Align's founder and project manager clearly communicated project status reports and timelines for deliverables. Centralizing this function was helpful and with one key liaison, nothing was misinterpreted. Things went smoothly over the course of 3 years of having Align manage multiple projects.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
As the company scaled across multiple countries and millions of users, Align's responsibilities grew exponentially. The agency always had the bandwidth and dedicated technicians and designers to get the work done in a professional manner.
Also, we saved a lot of capital not having to outsource projects because when we wanted something done, Align would learn how to do it and build it for the company.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Absolutely not. We were 100% satisfied with Align's level of professionalism and commitment. They literally became a part of the team!

UX/UI Design for Retail Checkout Mobile Application
“They really are just a wonderful team to work with because of how willing they are to go above and beyond.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the founder and CEO of a startup based in Long Beach, California, called Omni Self Checkout. We are developing a mobile app that allows self-checkout services at retailers.
What challenge were you trying to address with Align.vn?
We needed a partner to help design the app screens for our developers.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our teams sat down together at the beginning of the project to sketch out the timeline and deliverables, and from there they handled the majority of the work on the UI/UX of our product. They developed a totally functional prototype for us to use with the developers while they created the app, and the work was all done using Figma.
What is the team composition?
There were three members of their team working with us, including our project manager, a designer, and the owner of the company.
How did you come to work with Align.vn?
A business mentor in this area recommended them to us, so we decided to move forward with them from there.
How much have you invested with them?
In total, we spent about $3,000 on their work.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project ran from December 2019–July 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our basic measurements for success were how well the product represented our brand and how well it resonated with test groups during the development process. Based on those standards, they followed our instructions extremely well and delivered an excellent final product.
How did Align.vn perform from a project management standpoint?
Their team was very communicative and made themselves available to us 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Any time they ran into a problem, they made sure I knew about that, and they were extremely willing to make changes when I requested any from them.
For the most part, we talked to them through telephone and video conference, in which we reviewed the designs constantly to see what progress we had made and answer any questions they had since the last meeting had been conducted.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They provided a lot of additional insight and input into what they thought would work well and what wouldn’t, which we really appreciated. They really are just a wonderful team to work with because of how willing they are to go above and beyond.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The time difference was a little bit tough, but honestly, I don’t think there was anything more they could have done to make the process as easy and intuitive as possible.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Just be as forthcoming and honest with them as you possibly can. The more clearly you lay out all of your ideas, the more time they can take to dig into the requirements and figure out how to satisfy them best.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Co-Founder and Partner of a company called Blue Dot Rising, Inc/Alfabet Soup Consulting. We are a benefit corporation which means we strive to integrate positive social and environmental impact in all the work we do. We particularly focus on maternal and child health, but support social impact covering all areas.
For what projects/services did your company hire Align.vn?
We hired Align.vn to create a mobile application, a brand and logo strategy, as well as an animated video.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goal was to have a beta mobile application to help mothers find lactation spaces in the USA; and create marketing assets to support the application.
How did you select this vendor?
We had positive experiences with Align from our previous work while at UNICEF. They won a Hackathon competition put together by UNICEF and Microsoft. From there, they continued to show great results in other work for other colleagues. We knew above all else that Align was trustworthy and reliable which was our highest priority given that we had not developed a mobile app previously.
Describe the project in detail.
The project entailed the development of a mobile app beta on both iOs and Android. The app is developed quite well that it is actually better than a typical beta stage app. Align also created a logo and brand strategy for the name BreastFeedFinder. They finally created a full one-minute animated video, developing the storyboard based on a general script, with voice overlay, and closed captioning.
What was the team composition?
The team comprised of the main manager/owner who managed two teams, one to develop the app, and the other to develop the design work. The two teams worked hand in hand as the design team handed over the full design of the mobile app to the developers. While the developers were creating the app, the design team continued to support the brand, logo, and the animated video. The team worked well together and efficiently.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The product deliverables are all completed and are well done. We are impressed with the products that Align has delivered. General results from the app are not complete yet, due to our side, not having posted the beta app yet.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The workflow was generally excellent. Some team members changed midstream, but that was a hiccup that was quickly overcome. They used a very good tool for the design process which made it possible to make comments directly on the design.
Once it was moved over to the developers, however, it became more complicated to make comments. This consumed more time with the back and forth, but overall, even with a huge time difference, we were able to make it work because our company works late hours.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
With my various experiences of contracting third parties to do work, I have learned that working with a company that is trustworthy is most important. With any company, experienced or not, you will have roadblocks and issues. If a company is trustworthy, they will do everything they can to finish the job with integrity.
When you have large projects like this on the line, it is important that trust and reliability are there to find answers even if things go wrong. I would highly recommend Align for any design project in the future. I also would say that they were good listeners - working hard to make changes per client requests at all times.
Are there any areas for improvement?
As mentioned above, I believe the workflow once in the developers' hands was challenging but overall it went smoothly. I also would suggest that the company make sure that they do not expect payment schedules will change. While they are very trustworthy, it is best that contracts are strictly abided to, with a realistic schedule for payment.

Please describe your company and your position there.
We are a social enterprise in Vietnam aiming to help farmers improve their income by educating them to grow and produce natural peanut butter and cashew Butter. We strive to create the most delicious nut butter in every jar. We use only top quality natural local ingredients that give our nut butter the signature smooth, creamy healthy taste. We have a strong community focus and our vision is to help people give their families a brighter future. We aim to empower local staff and business owners to do the best they can in business and to stop the cycle of poverty. The way we achieve this is by giving each individual specific skills and training in our stores to raise their level of expertise not only in food safe practices, but also in business and life skills. My name is Đạt Trần. I am the co-founder. As you can see the company is named after me. I started the company because I see there is a need to help farmers. My background is working with factories and manufacture in Vietnam. I took this knowledge along with my co-founders, Luan Jenkins, and Long Bui we have grown to be one of the largest producers of Peanut Butter and the only Producer of Cashew Butter. We look to expand this year and to bring our product over western countries. At our company I focus on our product quality, the manufacture and the R&D need to look towards future goals to keep our company innovative.
For what projects/services did your company hire Align.vn?
As we are looking to expand, export and develop new products, and talk to investors - we need a new more professional globally standard brand. We have asked Align to help us rebrand to make everything more consistent with a clear message that align with our mission this include: Rebranding our Key Messaging, Key Visual, Logo, Corporate Identity, and several applications such as business cards, investor templates, packaging, brochure, flyers, and advising on our factory space aesthetics.
What were your goals for this project?
We need to have a more consistent messaging, branding that fit with a global customer and investor. We hope with the rebranding we could attract investors and more global buyers from the US, Canada, Europe, Japan and others. We believe this rebrand will have a great impact on our company as it will be seen that we are growing from a startup to becoming a mature company and we wanted to communicate that to our investors and buyers.
How did you select this vendor?
We found Align through our network connection. We contacted them and found they have similar values and were easy to communicate and work with. We saw from their portfolio that they have worked with other companies similar to us. We believed they could do the work and was easy to work with - that was the main deciding factor.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
Align was tasked to Rebrand with new Key Messaging, Key Visual, Logo, Corporate Identity, and several applications such as business cards, investor templates, packaging, brochure, flyers and advising us with some interior design aesthetics. Align took us through the whole Rebranding process from discovery report and customer study through customer personas, styles-cape to help us understand the new visual style, storyboarding the key visuals with the key messaging, and then applying these the key visual, messaging and logo to our applications. When doing this they made mockups to show what the real design would look like which helped us to better understand make changes before we sent it to our printers. We also have never done a design process where we consider the customers and mapped everything based on their persona first. This helped us to fully see the reasons why they made choices to the colors or typography or changed the logo the way they did.
What was the team composition?
Align spent a lot of time working with us and helping us to fully understand the process. We mostly communicated with their project manager, but when we met at their office we can see there were many designers hard at work. It was a pleasure working with their team - we believe this is one of their strong point - their ability to work with our schedule and accommodate with our needs on a tight budget.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Yes, from the Rebranding we were able to interest many investors and secure the funding we needed to expand and build a new factory and buy the machines needed to meet the current demand of 180 metric tons of cashew butter per month. We continue to get more global buyers interested in our product and we are looking to expand the product line.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Align was very helpful to us. The communication was frequent and clear. We mostly communicated through emails and chat. At various milestone we would come to their office and have face to face meetings.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
One of their biggest strength is their value. We can tell they really cared about the project and wanted to do their very best job. Of course the result is what we wanted and was also successful because it met our timeline and helped us to meet our company goal of securing investor and getting more buyers. So I would say their value of caring for the project and their result oriented process are the 2 biggest strengths.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I think at the beginning it was hard to understand their process, but as we worked more with them we had a better sense and understood each other better. The communication with their project manager and our team sometime could be more clear.

To better communicate that the bells and whistles requested for the website would also come with the downside of slower downloading. They have since introduced new solutions to remedy the issues as part of our 2020 program.

Describe the project in detail.
We had a series of meetings with Align to define the needs and find the right solutions. They designed more than 20 different logos for us to choose from, and went through several iterations until we chose the one that we liked. We asked them to redesign and make some adjustments later and they did their best to match our requests. We also worked closely with them on our website design, they created a mood-board to select the best ideas, created the mockups, a site map and custom designed every page for us. They involved us in every step, asked for feedback and responded to our requests, and we had lots of them!

The support we've got during the whole process was amazing. Align team made us feel like a part of their family and we felt taken care for along the way. Their designers did an awesome job and we felt that they are masters of their craft.
