Webonise is a product development technology group with a team of 200 talented software engineers, designers, architects, and analysts situated at multiple locations across the globe. We strategize, design, and engineer web platforms, mobile products, and digital solutions. We specialize in the most current user experience and interface concepts. Our sphere of work contains diverse industries such as media, e-commerce, agriculture, finance, sports, Internet of Things, human resources, and travel & tourism.

I am the quality assurance manager, heading a 25+ member team helping to maintain the quality and compliance of the various software products that we build for clients.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Aleph Tav Technologies?

We performed security audits for a couple of projects with Aleph Tav. Security is a critical aspect of any product in today’s world of consumer-facing, internet based applications over the cloud. We perform security audits on various applications which are data sensitive. Our partnership had a clear and defined objective to expose as many possible security flaws in the application under a scanner, with respect to application level as well as platform level and environment.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

With Aleph Tav Technologies we performed security audits [Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing, VAPT] of a couple of applications to ensure the safety and integrity of the application under test. We have done end-to-end VAPT with OWASP [Open Web Application Security Project] and SANS Institute standards, with a detailed reporting for any critical and exploitable vulnerability/security flaw to be exposed and patched before the production release.

How did you come to work with Aleph Tav Technologies?

The evaluation was done on the basis of their methodology and expertise in usage of tools and technologies. We had an interview, evaluated their earlier projects reports, and made a detailed analysis of the methodology used.

How much have you invested with Aleph Tav Technologies?

The project had 2 auditors, one from Aleph Tav and one internal to Webonise. Our total expenditure on the partnership is confidential.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our first project with them began in December 2015. We continue to work with Aleph Tav but there is no current ongoing project. We recently concluded an assignment last week. We usually work on a monthly cycle depending on the complexity of the project.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

The audit conducted by Aleph Tav Technologies helped us to expose the critical level of security flaws. Because of the audit conducted, we could safeguard a lot of valuable data which was critical to the users of the application(s). Our client appreciated having handled all the security related flaws, helping them to save a lot of re-work in later stage development.

What did you find most impressive about Aleph Tav Technologies?

What set them apart was their adherence to timelines. They always met the committed deadlines. They proactively raise any concerns and blockers. Also, they are detailed in their planning during the project detailing phase.

Are there any areas Aleph Tav Technologies could improve?

So far, we haven’t encountered any such area which has to be critically pointed out. Our business needs were always met in a professional fashion.
