Honestly, it was the fact the delivered what they promised. After using many other firms, Ahy Consulting is the first firm to actually deliver what has been promised.

We only had a delay on one aspect of our project. No blame here, both sides realized it was harder than anyone believed it would be when we started. Things have been finished and pushed live. Conversions are moving up.

We wanted to start direct to consumer model as manufacturers so we can directly sell the product to end consumer. The traditional selling model would add at least 45-50% to our cost which end consumer had to bear. We wanted to find a direct way to our consumers. There were a series of meetings with Ahy Consulting and their team, and to our surprise, they not only gave us good ideas but also challenged some of our own, to our benefit.

We were in discussion with many companies and we spent a good amount of time filtering and we loved talking to Ahy Consulting because we saw their keen interest in our growth. They had great ideas which they presented to us in these discussions.

We gave them the work to build our transactional e-commerce website including design, UX, optimised user journey and integration with 3rd party tools. They helped us to streamline the entire project into the following stages. Content -> UX -> User Journey -> Brand Guidelines -> Design -> Development -> Launch -> Growth They educated us in all these phases to ensure we understand what they are telling us, so we can make informed decisions.

When we approached Ahy Consulting, we just had a rough idea, they not only helped us to refine it, they made it a reality and today we are doing businesses all over the world. For us, something like this was impossible in such a short duration. We couldn't thank them enough for guiding us in the right direction.

They asked us to trust them and requested if we are comfortable with taking all the decisions related to technology on their behalf. We trusted them and gave them the control to take all decisions for the website design and development. This helped us to launch the website within 2 weeks with all the integrations and end-to-end setup. We started to receive online orders within 3rd week. They said they wanted to remove the back and forth of approvals and revisions and wanted us to trust them with entire process. Glad we did!

Their team is trained and wired to think about the growth of the companies they work with. Once you give them complete control, they will become obsessed to make sure you succeed. I have never seen any vendor work like this.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Sometimes they become way too direct when they correct our opinion. I think they should be a bit more subtle as many may not like more direct dialogue. Their team has very good communication and great intentions and I am sure they can improve this in future.

Ahy Consulting did Magento web development for one of our projects. They helped us create a transactional website for a client, and we started by relaying technical guides to their team. From there, they went on to code against the technical datasheet.

One of our criteria for choosing an outsourcing partner was their communication skills. We’ve worked with many agencies from India, and Ahy Consulting was by far the best in that regard. They’re very fluid. In fact, some people in our in-house team are tougher to manage and communicate with than them. It was that strong point of theirs, and their technical skills, that made us want to work with them. 

How much have you invested with them?

Right now, we’ve spent over $30,000 CAD (approximately $24,000 USD). By the end of the project, we’ll have spent $35,000–$40,000 CAD (approximately $28,000–$32,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

Our partnership started in July 2021, and it is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Ahy Consulting’s coding work is really top-notch. It’s super high-quality. Their team is always on top of the latest trends and technologies, which is a great add-on to their existing technical skills. Their communication skills are also really good. 

How did Ahy Consulting perform from a project management standpoint?

The team does the work independently, but they update us on a weekly basis about their progress. They use Trello internally to manage their business, but we do not have access to that as their client. We can communicate with them over the platform, though, and our questions usually get answered within minutes regardless of the time. We also correspond via emails and phone calls. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Ahy Consulting is truly a tier-one agency. Their price is twice as much as their competitors, but it is well justified in their technical knowledge, code quality, and highly qualified people. They’re elite programmers who are a cut above the resources one would normally encounter through freelance websites. Even our in-house technical team lead has been impressed with Ahy Consulting’s work and recommendations.

Are there any areas they could improve?

One thing they can improve on is their transparency. After we give them the technical brief, we don’t really have a clear roadmap for each milestone. We have to manually create an item in our Google calendar for each task. It’s hard for us to know exactly what we’re working on, especially since we’re dealing with a very complex project. All we have to rely on is their word.

We would appreciate it if they could give us a global vision and concrete schedule. This would also help us manage the tasks, especially since the client we’re developing a website for likes to make a lot of changes. We would better be able to manage our time and justify delays if it came to it. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Give as much technical detail as possible. Map every function you want to see in the final product and eliminate any gray zones. It would also be helpful for you to prepare a production calendar since they are still a bit lacking on that part. The more prepared you are, the easier the process will be.

We partnered with Ahy Consulting to support a functional need. They created my website, which includes technically challenging features. We’ve also hired them to support UI/UX development for my clients’ websites and mobile apps.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Ahy Consulting developed my company’s website in WordPress. Based on the team’s recommendation, it’s hosted on AWS. They built the site based on the designs I created in Photoshop, which I exported to the team along with other assets as raw files. Ahy Consulting developed websites and apps for my clients, too.

Before they began the build, we spent a lot of time discussing expectations, requirements and the project timeline to ensure we were on the same page. Ahy Consulting then made recommendations to ensure we realized the website’s desired functionalities. 

They’ve worked on complex technologies like database management. For my previous company, Ahy Consulting created a website that allowed us to make travel listings, which had to contain a lot of formatted information. The team built a backend engine that tracked user’s holiday choices and recommended the most relevant destinations accordingly.

Ahy came across as being a lot more competent to handle the development.

I started working with Ahy Consulting in August 2017, and our last project ended in 2018. We don’t have any ongoing projects at the moment, but the channel is always open; as soon as one of us has a project for the other, we will get in touch.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Ahy Consulting made possible several complicated technical features available on my website. They created the unusual menu on my website, which took many iterations to realize my design, but the team made it happen. Ahy Consulting developed database management features to handle the constant influx of creative content. They created a system to display relevant items based on tags instead of categorization. This was a completely new method for storing and retrieving content. Again, it was a technical challenge that the entire team supported to create.

How did Ahy Consulting perform from a project management standpoint?

We had regular meetings, either in person or on Zoom, during which we would ensure the project was headed in the right direction and the team would inform me of any hitches. Most communication took place over WhatsApp and email. There was constant communication between the teams, which is really good for keeping projects on track.

Ahy Consulting provided realistic deadlines that they stick to. If a project gets stuck because of something I haven’t said, they made sure to follow-up with me to deliver on the deadline. In terms of overall handling of project management, Ahy is on the ball.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Compared to competitors, they pay good attention to detail— nothing is glossed over. Ahy Consulting was always ready to put in the and effort necessary to make sure a feature would function the way it needs to, no matter how small. Many people would’ve told me that a feature couldn’t happen and would’ve left it at that. Ahy Consulting suggested alternatives that could be put in place to make it happen.

They’re technical experts. I have a level of comfort knowing that once I’ve given the team a project, I don’t need to look into the technical aspects of it at all. I can let them roll with it without intervening on anything other than the frontend part, which concerns me as a designer.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not that I can think of.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Be clear about deliverables. The team appreciates direction. The more explicit the brief, the better and faster the turnaround will be. Secondly, once timelines are set, it’s the responsibility of both parties to manage it.
