Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the faculty chair for a one-year master’s degree program at Indiana University Bloomington.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Agility Consulting International?

When I was developing the competency for my program, I consulted with over 50 healthcare leaders on skills that are the most vital for leaders in the health sector. I learned that proficiency in project management—particularly, the agile and lean approaches—is most desirable in healthcare leaders. We brought Agility Consulting International on to teach our students the agile approach.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

In conjunction with six healthcare leaders, their team prepared our students to sit for the professional scrum master certification. We’ve held one day-long seminar, and they’re currently scheduled to come in next month, as well.

What is the team composition?

I just worked with one coach.

What is the status of this engagement?

The first seminar was on January 31st, and it’s an ongoing relationship, where they’re holding more trainings due to popular demand.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The training has had a huge impact. My students are currently looking for employment, and I’ve had employers express explicit interest in recruiting them because of their agile training. Healthcare organizations are hungry for leaders with agile experience, so the seminars have been a valuable resource.

The team lead was thorough, organized, and professional, so she was a breeze to work with. She offered to serve as a resource for any of my students; she even gave them her number and told them to follow up with her in the event of any questions or desired feedback. The level of support she provided was amazing.

How did Agility Consulting International perform from a project management standpoint?

They were excellent. The team lead was great at both scheduling and following up. She was very organized, as well.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I very much appreciated her instructional approach, because it wasn’t your typical lecture. The seminar was a personal experience with deep concept training and real-time applications of these concepts. The hands-on learning seemed to be effective.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, I was very impressed with the training.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Make sure to do the preliminary readings and to show up ready with an open mind.
