They dive right in and try to get an understanding of your business and your target market. They pick apart your website and find ways to improve it. They come up with weekly social. They do all my ads. Honestly, a god sent

With three brick-and-mortar locations in B.C., Q Living Furniture sells stylish contemporary furniture with a focus on Canadian-made products. They have been wowing customers with their impressive showrooms and personalized level of service since 2006. When COVID protocols caused many retail stores to shut down in 2020, we built Q-Living Furniture a beautiful, new e-commerce website for selling their products online. For what projects/services did your company hire Agency Media, and what were your goals?
We had designed an innovative new add-on accessory to our flagship model, The Colorado + Veranda, plus some great new additions to our pergola model. We needed a way to present the new products to the world, understanding that our product captures the imagination best when it is hosted with people and decor, so a living-in experience.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Agency's credibility was flat-out obvious when reviewing videos from their clients' catalogues. Right out the gate, Adam Besse made communication of ideas so easy and fluid-like. It's as-if he had designed the structures himself and was just as eager as us to present our product to the world. Credibility, communication, and an "I-get-it" attitude - what more could you ask for?
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.
Discovery calls started with "why", and moved into who what where and when - an important sequence in my opinion. We were eager to contribute as much as Agency, so we followed their management (and advice) to land actors, location and on-set workers. The shoot went smoothly and we knew we were in good hands with the camera crew. You could tell this wasn't their first session, and they were eager to capture our larger-than-usual product on their high-end gear.
Post processing was a blast, as there was so much good footage in even the first cuts. Music selection was on-point and the CGI overlays gave the videos that "movie magic" feeling.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
We worked with a project manager, the film crew and the post-processing team. I believe we used a Vimeo app that made the edits super simple and easy.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Interest in our product was off-the-charts after the launch of the video. Dealers were wanting to host the videos on their own websites and launch TV spots with the footage. We moved far more product that we had projected. Lastly, we present the videos to potential new staff members during the hiring process!

We received lots of up-front communication, which was important for us because there's much more to making a video than what we had expected. We related via ZOOM calls and on-site visits. We certainly launched on-time, which was important to us.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Its the people. And the cameras. But it's really about their genuine interest in us and our reasons for what we are doing, and carrying our enthusiasm to the end video.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
It was such a great experience overall it's hard to say. It would have been even better if we had outlined the sequence of events (the building of the structures) for the post-processing team - surely could have saved some back-and-forth towards the end.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the marketing manager at WeatherSoft Structures. We build and engineer suspended fabric structures for various objects and industries. These include but aren’t limited to mining, steel palletizing, ports, hail canopies, and solar field fencing. The fabric structures can be large or small, depending on what the customer’s needs are.
What challenge were you trying to address with Agency Media?
I was just coming back from maternity, a period of time during which I did very minimal hours. Before that, I was spearheading all the SEO, Facebook marketing, and ad campaigns.
When WeatherSoft wanted me to increase my workload, I found it challenging to balance the SEO work with the strategic and planning side of the business, which I also managed. I rely on Agency Media to provide me with information that I don’t have time to research myself.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Agency Media has helped with both strategy and creative content creation. They, along with another agency, helped us build and deploy a new website. They informed my understanding of calls to action (CTAs). They’ve generated content for us, assisted with SEO, and guided our social media marketing.

I work primarily with Ben (Director of Business Development). As I’ve grown in the different areas, I tend to directly engage their corresponding specialist, whether it’s Leland (VP & Director of Web Development) or a coder.

We had previously partnered with them for a film production project that involved a helicopter and golf balls. They were affiliated with the helicopter company used in that project. When I needed the additional marketing support, they happened to cold call me. I was impressed by their professionalism and their performance in that previous project, so I felt comfortable moving forward with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working together roughly in July 2018 on a smaller contract, and our partnership has grown since then.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their efforts have increased our social media presence. We’re able to post regularly, and they’ve helped us establish a consistent blogging effort.
Despite our industry being very niche and how there isn’t much of a search volume for it, their team has employed creative methods to ensure growth. They focus on quality over quantity, so the inquiries we get are genuinely high-quality leads. They don’t try to bump up our numbers for analytics’ sake, which we appreciate. They’re a true ally in that sense.
I’m a hands-on team player, so I’ve taken some of the grunt work while using their specialized support in helping me grow.
How did perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re very transparent, so if something’s wrong, they’ll talk to you right away. I’m never left feeling uncomfortable about the status of something. They’re also exceptionally receptive to feedback, which makes them very easy to work with.
I have weekly calls with them, and the topic rotates depending on what people are working on. We’re always moving forward and their strategy is always solidly in place.

I think they’re always working on that, themselves. They’re always looking to be better and trying to figure out how they can best help us.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the VP of development at a university based in Canada. We have about 28,000 donors and 27 donor relations employees.
What challenge were you trying to address with Agency Media?
They have a relationship with many facets of the university. I can best speak to their video production work with us, but they’ve contributed significantly to our general PR for the enrollment end of our organization.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They work on video production for many of the pieces we’ve worked on for donor groups. We deal with three tiers of donors, and they’ve collaborated with each group in their video production projects. They’ve also assisted us in creating video content for our e-newsletter. In that process, they were pivotal in helping us produce some of the verbal and video production for a digital donations campaign.
We bring them into the projects at the very start of the process. Their experience with our organization allows them to look at projects in a positive, helpful way. After brainstorming together, we came up with the idea for the campaign together. That’s helped us target individuals to become an increasing part of our donor portfolio.

For our email campaign, our largest distribution was to around 20,000 new prospects. It’s very powerful to say that we’ve been able to accomplish that. We received very positive feedback on the quality of the videos, especially from those who would rather engage with video content than email text. Our development initiatives have allowed us to raise $19 million in the past year.

When I first visited their offices at the start of the engagement, they were great at professionally seeking our needs and providing us clear pathways toward our goals through their services. They asked thoughtful questions about our donor relations programming, digging into metrics early on.

We sell through Third Party Distribution for all of our products. It is sometimes difficult for our customers to sell the benefits of our products to their customers or their Customer's Customers. These videos enabled all parties in the supply chain to view each facility and our commitment to quality.

We selected Agency Media from the initial response to an e-mail request. The response was professional and immediate.

We started with an initial meeting that outlined our goals for the project. A rough draft was submitted and edited until we felt the script flowed and told the appropriate story. An outline of all the shooting locations were chosen between ourselves and Agency Media. The video shoot was scheduled and shot at the appropriate locations. We were then sent a fist draft where edits could be submitted and then the second draft was completed. We then schedule a detailed call where we finalize the third draft before being published.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
We worked with the entire team. The communication and the feedback is very positive. The work that is completed in the background shines through with the final versions. I am amazed at how it all comes together while being part of all the front processes.

We have done 5 different projects with Agency Media now. Everyone that sees the videos comment on the professionalism of the final product. I am proud to show them.
