The only thing I can think of is how it would've been good to get a little more ahead of the coming month (sometimes we'd still be planning for a month's content in the first week of that month). But this was likely also on me for not being more ahead of the month!

Our internal marketing team didn’t have the bandwidth to handle content marketing tasks. We hired Agency 102 to provide content marketing services and support.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Agency 102 provides content marketing services for us, including blog writing, SEO support, and website content support. Initially, we had an in-depth discovery call where we taught the team about our brand, messaging, target audience, and goals. Since then, they have worked on monthly projects with us. 

Before the project, our blog didn’t have any presence. Agency 102 has developed a blog content strategy for us, including posting cadence, what the content should be, and post subjects. Since then, they have worked on blog posts on a monthly basis. 

Agency 102 has also created a website content calendar that they update monthly, depending on what we post.

We’ve worked with 4–5 Agency 102 teammates at any given time, including the founder, content marketing strategists, and a project manager.

We found them through a referral. I contacted Agency 102 and had an initial conversation about their services and what they could provide. From there, they learned about our business and goals, and we discussed what the cost and pricing structure would look like monthly. After that, we signed a support contract with Agency 102.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Agency 102’s blogging strategy has been pretty beneficial for us; their work has helped increase site traffic by over 30%. From an SEO perspective, the team has also helped increase our organic rankings for several high-value keywords to the point where we’re outranking competitors that we were previously behind. 

How did Agency 102 perform from a project management standpoint?

The budget is a month-to-month retainer model. Once a month, we have a phone call to realign goals and priorities. We use project management tools to align on specific projects at any time. Additionally, we have a shared document that houses our content calendar, where we collaborate to pick the month’s topic, and Agency 102 follows that calendar. 

We communicate through email, ongoing calls, and Asana, which we use internally and provide Agency 102 with access to. The team is incredibly communicative, which is sometimes hard to find when working with agencies. They’re always available; I can email them and get a response quickly. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Everyone on Agency 102’s team is highly dedicated and eager to assist our end clients and provide top-quality service. They truly understand what we want to achieve through this relationship. Even though they’re a small team, they’re very organized and attentive to our needs.

There’s no glaring issue to call out.

Be open and honest about what your company wants to achieve, and ensure you have solid discovery calls at the start of the project. This approach will allow Agency 102 to do a better job; the more they understand your brand and goals, the more they can help you.

Agency 102 has helped in a multitude of ways. They first write scripts for videos and after those are approved by my compliance department, we move on to filming the social media marketing videos. Once the videos are shot, the Agency 102 team works on editing the videos, adding text and captions. The videos that are produced are very professional and look great on YouTube and Instagram.

Many clients have seen the videos and have passed them along to family and friends. I've also gotten at least 3 new clients that I know are directly from seeing the videos.

The project management has been fantastic. From scripts, to meetings, to producing the videos, everything has been delivered on time. If any edits are needed, it is resolved and back to me in less than 24 hours.

I've been very impressed with the video editing. The overlays, the intros and the overall quality exceeded my expectations.

The team and I have been working on getting a telepromter that would help keep my eyes focused directly on the camera during the videos. Besides that, everything has been fantastic!

Agency 102 had all of their employees show up on a discovery zoom call to hear of my companies needs. I was very impressed by that. On our next call, Agency 102 educated me on the inter-workings of how a website should function with analytics and data of my competitors websites. They provided me with a detailed game plan to improve site mapping, SEO keywords and new content.

4 individuals helped me. Hannah the owner was great at quarterbacking, Dan was great with SEO changes, Lexi was wonderful in writing content with the appropriate keywords and Ayana was an awesome point person to wrap it all together to keep everyone on a timeline.

We have seen a considerable improvement in the number of inquires for training off the website. It proves that the SEO changes have worked. We look forward to seeing how these changes will increase traffic to our website in our busy season this fall and winter.

The communication from Agency 102 was very impressive. They were thorough in their explanation of items they were going to work on and the work got done in a timely manner.

I was most impress on the team work on the project. I felt very special as a customer having a team working together to achieve a common goal for my business.

I thought the entire process ran smoothly and I do not have any areas for improvement at this time.

We hired Agency 102 to enhance our organic search performance results by creating compelling content for Google users.

What was the scope of their involvement?

To start this engagement, we gave Agency 102 an orientation around the philosophy of our work and mission statement. We told them about our business and helped them learn the unique qualities of our business. From there, they integrated their services with the subject matter that we wanted. 

At present, Agency 102 helps us with our blog and social media posts, newsletter, and email marketing content. They also help us with content for our case studies and for our social media accounts such as Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. All the content we create has images. Sometimes, there are videos, too; we create videos and then give them to the team to integrate with their copy. 

What is the team composition?

In total, we work with three people from Agency 102, including a copywriter. We mainly work with Hannah (Founder & Chief Strategist) and a graphic artist. Hannah has also brought in other people to the team.

How did you come to work with Agency 102?

We knew about Agency 102 because Hannah had worked on our account in a previous business. 

How much have you invested with them?

We spend around $1,800 per month. Our team spends more in some months and less in others, but that’s the average cost of their services. 

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Agency 102 in August 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve seen increased traffic across the board. The Agency 102 team has been great in giving us statistics and reports every month. Moreover, the traffic has increased not only on our website but also on social media — social media traffic is up around 300%, which has a huge impact on our business.

All of the traffic feeds into our inbound marketing. The number of inquiries for projects has gone up, too. Those inquiries have previously gone up and down before our engagement, but they’ve been going up since August 2021. 

How did Agency 102 perform from a project management standpoint?

Agency 102’s project management is excellent. They ask me for what they need from me, and they remind me if I don’t do it right away. In other words, they’re great at communicating with us. They routinely send drafts of whatever they’re going to write or do in advance. Most of the time, the content they produce doesn’t need much editing. Other times, there's no more than one editing round. They also provide us the dates of when such content goes out, and I see when it does go out. 

Overall, this has been the easiest engagement I’ve had. They always let me know what’s going to happen and when it’s going to take place. They do what they say they’ll do, and I can’t ask for anything more. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

Hannah has expert knowledge about all types of marketing, whether it’s SEO or social media and email marketing. Moreover, Agency 102 has a huge network of talent that they can draw from, and they always find the right people to work on our account whatever the task is. 

That’s the most noteworthy thing about them. Hannah has the complete package in terms of expertise, and she brings in the right talent as needed. They’re always effective in doing the projects. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Larger companies have departments that can holistically take care of a website in different technical ways. By contrast, Hannah doesn’t have a lot of in-house resources. 

To be fair, those technical services aren’t Agency 102’s main focus area; it’s not what they’re selling. As a result, I wouldn’t call this a true weakness. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Be clear about what you want. If you don’t know your goals, the project can be difficult to accomplish. Meanwhile, if you communicate your goal clearly with Agency 102, they’ll either make it happen or tell you the best way to achieve it.
