The project included the design and development of a new e-commerce website with a custom CMS. The scope covered UX/UI design, wireframing, visual design, responsive frontend development, backend development, and data migration. A custom CMS was implemented to allow easy product, category, and SEO content management without developer assistance. The final deliverables included the full website build, CMS admin panel, migrated content, performance optimization, and deployment to the hosting server.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The project did not demonstrate measurable progress or success. The website was built using the outdated Vue 2 framework (CSR only), which prevented proper SEO indexing, reduced Core Web Vitals performance, and limited scalability. As a result, the webshop did not achieve expected growth despite ongoing marketing, content, and SEO efforts.

The project was delivered slightly later than planned, but the main challenges were related to quality and stability rather than timing. The webshop experienced recurring 500 errors from launch, and many fixes were handled ad-hoc. The CMS did not fully reflect SEO fields on the frontend, multilingual support was incomplete, and URL/hreflang management was not implemented correctly. Although communication was present, the solution did not meet the required technical standards, and additional issues later required paid corrections.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

We initially selected this company because their portfolio included well-known Croatian e-commerce brands, which suggested strong experience with larger and more advanced webshop systems. However, based on the final outcome of our project, it appears that their involvement in those reference projects may have been limited to smaller contributions rather than full development. The expected level of technical expertise and execution was not reflected in our deliverables.

Are there any areas for improvement or something AG media could have done differently?

There is clear room for improvement in technology selection and transparency. The webshop was built on Vue 2 after its official end-of-life, and significant portions of the frontend structure were reused from a previous project, rather than developed as a new solution as agreed. When these issues were raised, the proposed response was a paid migration to Vue 3, which placed the technical and financial burden on us instead of correcting the initial delivery. A more future-proof technology choice, clear communication about frameworks, and delivery of a fully original and stable implementation would have led to a better outcome.

I had a clear vision about site design and look. Developers suggested I should use Open Cart as platform and it proved very efficient and bug free. After some time I needed to include multi language option to my web and it worked without any problem. Everything went very smoothly and fast on their part.

Since having website I don't need to use Facebook, Instagram and Etsy for sales, everything is straightforward and simple. I always rely on my customer's feedback and try to improve site to match their needs and AG media helps whenever I need them.

Our website/web-shop had become outdated and couldn't support the growing traffic. We don't have in-house developers so we hired this team to build a custom website/web shop. The reason we needed a custom website is because we are a specific niche and have different requirements than typical web-shops. With over 50.000 products, triple the amount of photographs and a large increase in traffic and orders we needed a team who could deliver to our specific needs and do it fast.

We had a kick-off meeting in which we discussed our goals and objectives. From there the team delivered mock-ups and wireframes for our site. PHP and Laravel were used as technologies. The team designed and developed an informational website.

The CEO was our main point of contact throughout the process. There was also a developer behind the scenes.

After launching our site, we saw a 60% increase in traffic and sales in the first month. Thanks to the landing page, which was designed to be user friendly, our incoming leads doubled month over month. Our clients love the design. A major improvement from what we had before.

We had regular stand-ups with the project manager who communicated with the rest of the team. We would be duly informed if any delays would be occurring, giving us enough time to prepare. Since AG media know our business we presented to them how we want our new web page to look like and how to present our services and products. Internally we had a project manager who was communicating with AG media on project development. AG media made a new web page visible to our parties interested in our company to have a follow up on steps done by AG media. Since we needed to translate materials from our supplier, AG media provided a partner for translation as well.

Our generic position on Google rise to the first page soon after kick-off. Development of landing pages gives us the possibility to present our company to our clients in a more personal way which increases our hit rate.

We had weekly followed up meetings. Additionally, the web page was live on a temporary site which gave us the possibility to comment and follow improvements.

I decided on the basis of quality and price, with regards on the past projects of the company. I didn't search much as I immediately found what I was looking for at AG media.

Two memebers of the team worked with me - CEO Tomislav Jureša and web developer Filip Jankoski.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

I wanted to have a standalone web site to be able to be independent of Etsy where I also have a shop. Now, ten years after I must say that it was a good move as my Etsy sales are getting more expensive and my personal web cheaper overall.

We chatted on line and I was able to communicate all my wishes and needs, they were delivered immediately and my web was up in a very short time. In the next years I had some minor design improvements which were also delivered very fast and accurate.

They have a huge e-commerce experience, and their prices are fit for us micro-entrepreneurs.
