Amarjeet Sohi's social media played a massive role in his successful campaign for Mayor so I wanted a strategy that would carry over that success while balancing the new role he held. I knew the way we communicated had to change but needed some help on how we got there and that's where Adverb came in.

There were two people from Adverb who dedicated much of their time to helping us find a solution as the Mayor's new role started the second he was elected so they pulled the strategy together very quickly but thoughtfully for our office.

All of our social media channels have grown substantially in the year since we've implemented the strategy that Adverb created for us. We're speaking to more people and sharing the important work that our city is doing for them.

I’m the director of communications and relations for the Building Trades of Alberta. Our organization is made up of 18 Alberta construction unions with more than 60,000 skilled trades professionals around the province.

We hired them to get assistance on a digital campaign we were rolling out.

Adverb Communications worked on putting together a digital strategy for our campaign. They also created social media content on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube.

I worked with 2–3 people from their team. My main point of contact was Tyler (Managing Partner & Strategist).

I knew two of their teammates from before and saw some of the good work they were doing. In other words, I knew their expertise from previous positions. I saw the results that they were getting online, so I was excited to bring them into the fold and use them for what we needed to do.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Adverb Communications provided us with data and analytics on our videos and the hits that we were getting, showing us the areas where we were doing well. They also showed us where we could improve for our next campaign. Overall, they were good at guiding us through the metrics of what we did together.
For specific metrics, we had impressive YouTube numbers. Our video had around 43,500 impressions at the time of their report, which was awesome. It had around 3,500 views from people who watched it for 30 seconds or more. On Facebook, we sat around 6,200 views, while our ad campaigns had a view rate of 8.38%, which was okay — they were looking for a conversion rate of 10%–15%. The team gave us valuable feedback and tips on how to get people to watch for longer than 5–10 seconds.
How did Adverb Communications Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?
They met deadlines, and we were right on budget. In fact, the cost was lower than expected. We definitely gained value for our dollar. To communicate, we primarily used Google Meet.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Adverb Communications’ knowledge, skills, and abilities to navigate what we wanted to do were impressive. They were great at navigating the digital and social media world, and those were the areas where we wanted to make an impact.
Moreover, the team provided great insights and suggestions on how to do that in relation to our messaging, videos, and links for each platform. This would allow us to get the maximum bang for our buck on each platform. Overall, their knowledge was truly valuable to us; we appreciated it.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there weren’t any. Everything went smoothly. Adverb Communications did a great job, and I had no complaints or hiccups to report.

Reach out early to Adverb Communications before you start any campaign or initiative. Give them time to provide you with their analysis and insight on the best approach to your campaign to maximize your benefits. Then, work with and listen to them — they know what they’re talking about. Their resources have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do what you want them to, so give them room to do it. That way, you’ll achieve success the way we did.

After a kick off meeting and sending necessary resources to Adverb, they were quick to turn around a short-term strategy that would make immediate inroads on our digital media platforms and increase awareness of our CEO in the community and industry at a critical time for our organization.
They help develop our weekly digital media content and strategy with recommendations on timing for deployment and visual content to support. They also work with our CEO in delving into the work and magic that is created at the CTCC and turn these interviews into thought leadership pieces.

Our CEO's thought leadership pieces have been posted on LinkedIn and has gained significant positive responses in followers and commentary. More importantly, our CEO is being sought out at public events about his pieces and the positive impact they are having. For the CTCC's digital media - there has been a marked change in tone creating a significant increase in impressions and followers.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We have regular meetings at the start of the week to set the tone and strategy for the week ahead. These have become so efficient that we usually don't need the full hour as we are all on the same page quickly. Adverb uses a great tool to ensure we are all on the same page and it is clearly outlined of who needs to do what. The weekly strategy is turned around in a matter of hours and posts are ready shortly following the agreed strategy. Adverb is quick to turn around products and open to suggested changes.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Adverb is very quick to turn quality product around and have the ability to see the larger picture then beyond the scope of what they are working on. They quickly understood our goals and provide strategic advice on how to get to our end goals.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
They use google docs which is not something our organization uses, but it did not take long to quickly learn how to use this application. Google docs does have great editing tools which has been helpful in how we are working with Adverb.
