We had a project where we needed to produce an explainer video. Hence, we reached out to Addiction Graphics to help us with that.

What is the scope of their engagement?

Addiction Graphics made an animated video that lasted about for about two minutes. Our internal team wrote the script, and they essentially took care of the end-to-end production of the entire video.

I'm sure a lot of people have worked on it, but I had just one point of contact from their side who’s probably the owner of the company.

How did you come to work with Addiction Graphics?

I found them on Fiverr.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent almost $3,500 on the project.

What is the status of the engagement?

We worked together on this project from June–November 2022.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Addiction Graphics delivered a high-qaulity video at an exceptionally lesser price. It’s too early to share any metrics, but the video has been posted on YouTube and our company website. We also use the video in our sales efforts, especially when we do cold outreach activities.

How did Addiction Graphics perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very professional and extremely accommodating. We started this project in June, and we kept changing our script because our product was constantly evolving. They were also quite prompt and communicative. They were constantly in touch with us and kept following up on us even when we didn’t respond to them because we were still working out things internally.

We had a private Slack channel where our entire team collaborated with them in terms of giving feedback.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Addiction Graphics had a very creative team. We wanted a video that stood out and did not have very conventional graphics out there, and they perfectly executed that. They were also very proactive, which is something we found to be quite different from all the agencies that we’ve worked with in the past.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We have no complaints about Addiction Graphics’ work — they executed everything perfectly.

For what projects/services did your company hire Addiction Graphics, and what were your goals?

Explainer videos for our flagship tech programs. Our goal was to have clear videos explaining our programs and the successes a student would have learning with us.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I really loved how minimal but impactful their motion graphics are. I gave them feedback not to use any character animations or make them look too cartoonish and they delivered. We focus more on iconography and typography with the Kenzie videos.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.

I love the process Mohit has developed especially since we are in totally different timezones. In the very beginning, I send him our script and creative expectations. He then sends me a storyboard, music options, voiceover options and then an animated draft with all of the elements. We usually have the videos go through a few revisions but never more than 2-4 times. The entire process is very collaborative and enjoyable.

Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?

I worked mostly with Mohit and the feedback process was always great. Not only am I giving feedback but my entire marketing team has a say on the videos. Mohit would push back on me when something might not work and I always trust his professional knowledge.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The very first video on our website's homepage has generated the most views. It serves as an introduction to our school, we've gained a lot of clicks with this video and also on our YouTube channel.

Very organized. We just communicate through messages. I would send lots of pdfs loaded with specific edits and they always cover each one correctly.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They really understand the Kenzie Academy brand. I've created four videos with Addiction Graphics so far and they get better and better each time. Our staff and audience love how informational and creative the content is. I plan on having them produce a video for all of our programs.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

My only small critique is the amount of time spent on producing the videos. I would love the videos done quicker. But I totally understand they got a large workload. I'm still impressed by the final product and it's always worth the wait.

I’m self-employed and the sole proprietor of Smith Studios. We provide services like motion graphics and web design for marketing purposes.

What challenge were you trying to address with Addiction Graphics?

My company used to comprise me and my boyfriend, who used to do animations. He took on another job, and although I have experience in video editing, I have absolutely none in animation, so I had to find someone to provide those services.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Addiction Graphics provides me with animation services for my marketing clients. Usually, I get a brief that I send to Addiction Graphics along with a script through Fiverr. Based on those documents, they send me a quote and a timeline. 

Once I approve the quote, they start by giving me stylized shots for approval, which are usually 2–3 graphics of scenes that will be on the storyboard. This takes them about a week. Sometimes I’ll tell them I’d like it to look a certain way, and sometimes I tell them to go ahead, giving them free rein. If the client has a certain branding, they follow it in the stylized shots. 

From there, Addiction Graphics sends me a complete storyboard, which takes them another 1–2 weeks. The storyboard is essentially a scene-by-scene and shot-by-shot of what the animation will entail. I do my major revisions at this stage because once the storyboard has been approved, the animation is pretty much fleshed out already. We go back and forth with the revisions.

When we’re happy with the storyboard, the team transforms it into an animation. At this point, Addiction Graphics also puts in a voiceover, which they always include with their services. Usually, neither the client nor I have any issues with the animation since most of the revisions happen during the storyboarding stage.

So far, the Addiction Graphics team has created an explainer video, two training videos for a client’s internal use, and we have a fourth project in progress.

What is the team composition?

I have one main point of contact. I don’t know how many people from Addiction Graphics are animating.

How did you come to work with Addiction Graphics?

I looked around for a partner quite a bit and considered local animations. I went with Addiction Graphics because they were very good; they had a huge portfolio on YouTube and Fivver, so I immediately saw their high standard of animation. Their pricing was also good compared to most providers. Ultimately, price- and quality-wise, Addiction Graphics was the ideal fit for me.

How much have you invested with them?

I normally spend about $1,500 per animation, and I’ve done about four animations in total with Addiction Graphics and some extra tasks so far. In total, I’ve spent around  $8,000, including the extras.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together around June 2019, and the engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

My clients and I are very happy with Addiction Graphics’ work. After the first animation they did for me, I was blown away by how efficient and good their services were. I was very happy, and so was the client — it was good vibes all around. Plus, conversion rates for their explainer video have been really good; the client got about 400 clicks on it, representing people viewing more of his services. 

My clients can be very picky, and a lot of the time, I throw things at the team that aren’t the standard for animation services. While any other animator would charge more, Addiction Graphics is very accommodating and always helps me make sure the client is happy. They sort out all the technicalities and always stick to the brief. 

Additionally, the team is always on board with what I want the animations to look like. They’re very quick with storyboard revisions; as soon as I provide my comments, they send the changes 1–2 days later, and they’re always exactly how I wanted, which I’m impressed with. I always feel terrible when I take a long time to give my revisions. If anything needs to be cleared up, it’s generally from my end. Whatever I ask from Addiction Graphics, they execute it perfectly, even when it’s complicated tech-related animation — it’s one of the biggest reasons I love them. 

How did Addiction Graphics perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re great at project management; I’ve had absolutely no issues with them. They’re very good at managing expectations and time. For example, if the brief contains many characters, they let me know it’ll take longer and be more expensive because of the characters’ movement. 

The team also delivers ahead of time. When they tell me something will take six weeks, they usually finish in five and a half weeks. I communicate with Addiction Graphics only through Fiverr chat, where we share all documents and information.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Addiction Graphics’ price and quality are unbeatable in my experience. I have gone through other animation providers, and they would either take much longer than they say, or their pricing isn't aligned with the quality of their work. Meanwhile, I can give Addiction Graphics a project for my biggest client, and I know the team will be able to execute it perfectly.

They also have an incredibly broad range of animation styles, which is rare. Most animators have their own particular style. I can give Addiction Graphics any brief — whether it’s a techie vibe, a casual video, or a project for children — and they execute it in the way I need them to.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only thing they could improve is in clarifying all their services. They don’t have a preemptive list of how much extra revisions will cost. Often, when I go over budget, they say the cost of additional revisions outright, but I can’t anticipate it. Besides that, there’s nothing they need to improve; I’ve really enjoyed working with them and will continue to work with them.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Any animator is only as good as the brief they get, so make sure yours is very detailed. I normally make sure my briefs are very clear because Addiction Graphics is so good at following them. Tell them exactly what you want because they will execute it that way.

I contacted Addiction Graphics asking originally for a quote for three video animations to match specific storyboards I had created. I provided assets and a brief. Once I saw the quality of the production I requested a fourth video. These were provided on time and on budget. The quality was fantastic and communication was open and clear which made my life easier.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

We swapped emails regularly and I provided time codes relating to any changes made. Addiction Graphics always got back to me promptly.

The client was very happy with videos and has already requested further work based on the work Addiction Graphics completed.

Addiction Graphics was always clear in their communication and provided a fairly fast turnaround considering the complexity of the animations.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The quality of the animations compared to the priced charged was a pleasant surprise. Also the clear communication considering we live in different countries and time zones.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Not much to complain about really.. A few details were missed on one round of changes but the feedback was a little confusing, so no real issue.

The experience has been fantastic. The first draft of the project was really solid. The team was very reactive and listened to our corrections.

We're really with the video and the outcome it produced. We wanted to help explaining the product. And that what happened with the video.

Great workflow. True professionnals! The communication was really easy and reactive. The project manager always answered all of our questions and gave us feedback very regularly.

We really enjoyed the combination of great animation quality and great communication. It was exactly what we were looking for.

Frankly, we were very satisfied. We know creating explainer videos take time, but the deadlines were announced at the beginning of the project. And have always been respected. So very good experience.

What challenge were you trying to address with Addiction Graphics?

We primarily contracted them on the marketing side. We run a lot of campaigns to explain our product to people.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Addiction Graphics translated our ideas into animated videos. We gave them the scripts, and they translated those into storyboards, which are rough roadmaps showing what the video will look like.

Once we approved those, they moved into the animation phase. We specified whether we wanted landscape or portrait videos, and we chose the color palettes and keyframes.

What is the team composition?

I contracted Addiction Graphics through Fiverr, and all our conversations have been through the platform. I’m not sure how many people worked on their end.

How did you come to work with Addiction Graphics?

They had a pretty good video portfolio on Fiverr. I believed they were the best company for line animation. They stood out from the competition in terms of animation style and design professionalism.

How much have you invested with them?

I spent $2,000 on the first project, and I plan on spending another $2,000 with them.

What is the status of this engagement?

The first project ran between December 2020–January 2021. I’ve engaged Addiction Graphics for a second project.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Our success depends on quite a few factors, so I can’t comment on that. Addiction Graphics produces high quality of work and professional designs.

Their biggest strength is their ability to communicate well. I’d worked with someone else on video production previously. That person would take the script and give me back a video, which would cause unwanted surprises. Addiction Graphics has a storyboarding process that ensures everyone’s on the same page. When I get the final video, it’ll be more or less in the direction that I wanted.

How did Addiction Graphics perform from a project management standpoint?

I talked to them exclusively through Fiverr, so I couldn’t comment on what tools they were using. From my side, I found them to be responsive. We haven’t had any problems.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ability to stay connected and communicate the progress of the work impressed us. Addiction Graphics has a reliable process for communicating what the animation is going to look like.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, everything was great. I just wish they had a wider range of services, such as spokesperson or product demo videos. Addiction Graphics very good at the type of animation they do, but they may not have the resources to do other styles.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

I’d certainly refer them to anyone looking for animation help.

Very effective communication between the teams. Any changes we needed it was not problem to get it done. Workflow between the teams were excellent!

They delivered on time, their attention to detail was spot on, and they captured the essence of what we wanted to convey to potential clients.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the founder and CEO of PictureYourTravel, a social travel ecosystem. Our platform allows users to follow friends, family, and travel influencers to inspire and guide them through a holiday or trip. I saw the opportunity to create this when a major social travel platform started losing users’ trust due to paid reviews.

I thought, if a friend was there to guide me during a trip, I’d already be 60% committed to taking the trip. The platform would also provide convenience, in that users wouldn’t have to go to different sites for inspiration, booking, itineraries, and posting content for their trip. Everything would all be done on one platform. The website is basically a convenient and trustworthy platform for travelers.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Addiction Graphics?

I needed Addiction Graphics’ team to help me with initial graphic design services. Following that, I wanted to pitch introductory videos as well as videos for different Facebook and Instagram marketing campaigns.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They provide graphics and ads for our campaigns. I give them scripts and instructions on how I wanted to take the ad campaigns. Then, I leave it up to them to think about travel and design. Mohit (Founder & Artistic Director) gives me the first iteration and then I go back and finish the job. He’s helped me brainstorm ideas on what creative concepts should come at what time in the stories I tell. The stories are made by me, and Mohit handles their execution based on my vision.

We couldn’t meet each other or express ourselves properly during the COVID-19 lockdown. Using FaceTime isn’t how creativity comes out. I called Mohit in March about a video. Unfortunately, everything in India was shut down so we couldn’t do anything until April. I called him again on April 23rd to talk about the video. Then we scheduled a couple of calls for an hour each so we could brainstorm properly.

We did that over the last weekend of the month, and I had my first storyboard on the 29th. Three days later, we finalized the storyboard. Then, within eight days, we finalized the concept for the three-and-a-half-minute video, just meeting over Google Hangouts. Mohit finished the video in seven days after that. We created the video in about 14 days, from scratch.

I only work with Mohit.

How did you come to work with Addiction Graphics?

I heard about Addiction Graphics through our platform’s UX designer. They’re friends with some of the Addiction Graphics team members. The connection I had with Mohit and his understanding of what I was saying was what sealed the deal. He’s worked with some major graphics companies, so his background is pretty amazing. Because he was just starting his own company, I got the chance to work with an inexpensive resource, but also one that understood me well.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve invested between $5,000–$6,000 so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our ongoing engagement started in November 2017. I first met them when we did a small promo for the MVP to showcase it to investors, friends, and family. We’ve been working on-and-off for the last two years, and all my campaigns have been done by Addiction Graphics.

As a startup, I don’t have a very big budget for marketing and introductory videos. I’d say that they get a big project from me once every three months. We’re currently working on a pitch video that’s almost three-and-a-half minutes long, but I also give them small projects like GIFs and those kinds of things.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We shouldn’t ignore the fact that I’m in the travel industry and all plans have gone haywire. In terms of how Mohit has developed during our engagement, if I was a parent, I’d be extremely proud of him.

If I shared the first videos he created along with the progression works that have happened, it’d be more than enough for anyone to validate him. He has learned on his own, and I love his ideas. I can just give him a script and a storyboard will come back to me within a day’s time.

How did Addiction Graphics perform from a project management standpoint?

I used to work with him in-person all the time, but I’ve also worked with him remotely because of COVID-19. Mohit is the type of person who will do one or two calls to understand the client, and then will want to be left alone. That’s how he works. I’ll get on a call with him, and he’ll prepare a document from it, detailing the voiceover I need.

He’ll finish the whole thing based on those details. He asked me once or twice to dub it for him, so he could give the audio to the voiceover artists and make sure they expressed the same feeling. Otherwise, we have a couple of calls, prepare a document, and he’s done. I’m usually the one who’s late giving him stuff.

What did you find most impressive about them?

It’s his creativity and capability to understand me. When it comes to making videos, following directions, and implementing designs, it’s more about understanding what I want, and he hits that on the nail.

Are there any areas they could improve?

If he has the money, I’d suggest he upgrade himself to make the videos even nicer. With the live parts of his videos, the finish is great but not awesome. This is related more to having the capital to make bigger productions. Give him two more years and I’m sure he’ll be there.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Clients should know what they want and put it down on a piece of paper, then call Mohit a couple of times and let him be. We have very high standards for the content on our Facebook and Instagram pages, and Mohit is one of the key reasons for that.

I am the founder and Managing Director. My company creates promotional and training videos. This enables companies to showcase new products or advertise their services.

We outsource our animation projects to Addiction Graphics. We have a few tech clients that require animation to explain their products to clients.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal was to simplify the product to be understoon by viewers. We believe we've succeeded in working with the client to showcase the core solution offered to their client's pain points. Once the client saw the video, they can engage with further sales.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

The vendor was selected based on previous work that they have done for us. Our clients were happy, so we returned. Their service is also excellent and they handle difficult customers very well.

Describe the scope of their work in detail.

We try to keep animation videos to about 90 seconds. We create a basic Voice-Over script with animation explanations. Once the clients signs off on the script, we send it to Mohit and his team to create a storyboard. Once the clients signs off on the storyboard, animation starts. Mostly feedback is focused on colour and styling once the clients sees it.

What was the team composition?

I mostly deal with Mohit, so I am not sure of the size or composition of his team. They kept to their deadlines, so they are outcome focused.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We had success in previous projects as well as this one. We've engaged with the client, realizing that the CEO wants to be very hands-on. Normally this makes the process more tedious as he is very busy. After a big feedback session, he was very happy with the manner in which his brand is represented.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was very efficients. We utlized Skype as a communication tool and it seemed enough to keep track of the project.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

No request was too hard or tough for them. They are very friendly and came with very creative solutions to tough problems.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I may suggest that they make a few animation styles available to select on their website. This will help them be more efficient even before storyboarding the animation. Once you choose a style, you kind of know what to expect.

I am the co-founder of startup OneDemand. The product is currently in pre-release.

For what projects/services did your company hire Addiction Graphics?

We used Addiction for the creation of our OneDemand explainer video. OneDemand is our proprietary on-demand services platform.

What were your goals for this project?

To create a clear and contemporary explainer video inline with the quality of that used by TransferWise.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We contact a range of animation studios from all over the globe. Addiction came in at a reasonable price and had a strong portfolio.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

The video is a contemporary and clean explainer with a British female VO artist (recommended by Addiction) that outlines the benefits of the product.

The script was written by myself (could have been better in hindsight), off the back of which addiction provided some initial mockups. Once we agreed on the general look and feel, Addiction provided a full storyboard, which again went through a feedback cycle. On approval, Addiction completed the final video, which after a few small tweaks, was approved.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

We typically communicated over email, with regular Skype calls as and when required.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We're more than happy with the video but postponed the launch of the product...which is currently still selling under its original name Appicial. This is more to do with lack of time and funds to complete the reskin of the 4 demo apps that come along with the product and nothing to do with the work Addiction GFX completed for us. We hope to go live soon.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We're a small startup so all of the interaction was between Mohit from Addiction and myself. The process was perfectly smooth. Mohit is very professional, polite, a native english speaker and open to ideas and feedback.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

His ability to create an end product that is comparable to the work of onshore agencies. I've worked with many vendors and have high standards.

Typically (but not always) offshore companies are great at engineering, but still lack the skills to create something that works well for western audiences. With Addiciton this was not the case.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Honestly, no. I just wish I could win more business to pass his way. Hopefully, 2019 will be a great year for OneDemand as well as Addiction.
