The Problem

Established for over 10 years, BookingLive was starting to lose out to competitors globally and in the UK. They were spending large amounts of money on paid search and getting very little traffic in organic search as well as a

very low conversion rate.

The Solution

We have been working with BookingLive for over 3 years now. A focus was put on Digital PR and link building to start redeveloping their website to enhance conversions. We also worked on the content site-wide as well as training their in-house team to be prepared for the future.

We worked with National Geographic on a complex 10-month GTM and GA implementation

 

The Problem

The website was using an in-house Tag Management solution that needed to be migrated to Google Tag Manager. However, there was only a 3-month window to complete this migration and it involved 6 CMSs and 500 tags!

 

The Solution

The existing GTM setup was cleaned-up and changed from classic Analytics to universal Analytics. Then a phased approach of migrating the pageview, events & then transactions was adopted. An automatic QA system was introduced to monitor the 500 events during the migration and a robust migration process was introduced to minimise human error.

The project was completed within 3 months and data quality was high enough that it allowed the client to start an A/B testing plan using Google Analytics Goals. An unexpected result of this project was a reduction in JavaScript errors. These were fixed by moving to GTM native JavaScript listeners which are more robust.

The client needed reliable Digital marketing tracking; prior to increasing marketing budgets & investing in SEO during a peak period. However, they had limited development resources and required a solution that was ready in time for their January deadline.

Using Google Tag

I work at RingCentral, which is a cloud communication company that provides cell phone systems and contact centers as well as other sorts of communication tools to businesses around the globe. My unit takes care of the websites for our UK, Ireland, Netherlands, and French offices.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Accelerate Agency?

We originally brought them on as a retainer to increase our organic traffic. We have a lot of methods for bringing customers to the website, but organic traffic has always lagged behind, and with diminishing returns particularly in the year or so prior to the engagement, we decided we wanted to work with someone to try and improve that.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They have implemented some specific goals that we developed together with them, mainly around keyword targeting and developing our purchasing pathways to secure more business from that traffic as well. In that process, we were able to take advantage of tools like Ahrefs and SEMrush.

Once we started making progress on that we decided to double down, so now we’re moving on to content creation and other tactics to position RingCentral as more of a thought leader in our industry. We’re trying to make a more qualitative use of our Google Analytics data as a whole.

What is the team composition?

I am currently working with 5 members of their team.

How did you come to work with Accelerate Agency?

We found them through LinkedIn. It seemed like they had a good knowledge of the industry and where it was going, as well as the importance of not only bringing customers in but maintaining those relationships as well.

They put some recommendations together for us and really brought in a lot of fresh ideas that we thought could be really helpful for what we were trying to do here. That, combined with some customer feedback that we received from our clients who had a good relationship with them, really convinced us that they were the right partner for the job.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent about $90,000 with them in our first year and have agreed to plans for 2020 which will bring us closer to $275,000 in total.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project started in May 2019 and our work is ongoing. We have plans to continue for at least the rest of 2020.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

In terms of the most basic metrics, we were able to secure a series of keywords that we had previously ranked for but were no longer winning. They helped us regain our ranking on those keywords as well as several others we hadn’t even considered, as well as increasing our overall traffic by 25% which was well over our six-month goal.

Leads went up from the traffic we were receiving, so we knew that we were receiving quality traffic as well, which makes a huge difference. One of the biggest benefits, however, was that they were creating and publishing so much content for us that they were able to put our solution in front of a lot of new faces on different business websites where people may or may not have heard of us before.

How did Accelerate Agency perform from a project management standpoint?

We used our own technologies to communicate with them, so that has obviously been relatively smooth for us. But beyond that, they’ve made use of monday.com which has worked out very well, and we go into their office for larger planning meetings and things like that.

They do a really good job of sticking to the schedules we agree to and keeping us up to date on when any new content is ready for us to share. That has allowed us to create a really well-integrated marketing campaign around our SEO work, which plays a big role in our success.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I think one of the best things they’ve done is taken an interest in our metrics and really looked at things as holistically as possible. It’s one thing to consider the data you have on your own and make judgments off of that, but they have been able to bring fresh eyes and a depth of knowledge to the data that we already had, developing recommendations and analyses that we wouldn’t have been able to come up with otherwise.

Are there any areas they could improve?

It really has been a genuinely good relationship, so I can’t think of any issues. They’ve met every goal we set out for them.
