We needed to hire a recruitment firm to help us hire for our entities from Bangladesh to Morocco.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Accel HR Consultants manage recruitment — both new hires and replacement hiring — using our skill-based requirements. They do market research and provide reports, advising us on the right approach for hiring within that market and for specific positions. They manage every step of the way, including helping us coordinate with candidates, setting up interviews, filing interviews, finalizing offers, and onboarding.

What is the team composition?

I have one point of contact that oversees the team of about five people. 

How did you come to work with Accel HR Consultants?

We did a Google search. We liked the clientele and types of hiring Accel HR Consultants had done as well as the size of their agency. We hired them on a trial basis, were satisfied, and have been working with them since then.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working with them around March 2017, and the services are ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

On average, Accel HR Consultants helps us recruit 10–15 resources annually. They are good at understanding the requirements and all details in that process. They aren’t afraid to ask questions when they need clarification. We are satisfied with their work for us.

How did Accel HR Consultants perform from a project management standpoint?

They’re responsive and work hard to meet urgent requirements. The team leader ensures everything runs smoothly and the team stays on task. Our communication is good.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are professional and understanding of the way our recruitment needs fluctuate. They are a very good team to work with.

Accel HR Consultants needs to work to retain their staff long-term.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I work for Lagardere Travel Retail which is a duty-free retail company. Our head office is in Paris, and we run all of the duty-free stores in the airports. We handle the Middle East section and we are going to have a store in the new airport in Abu Dhabi. 

I am the office manager and admin assistant. I handle all of the office procedures, HR, and recruiting.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Accel HR Consultants?

We were looking for a company to do HR recruitment.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Whenever we have a job opening, we will use their services. For example, the last position we were hiring for was a network IT manager, and we asked them to send us a couple of candidates. We provided them with a whole description of our requirements. They sent us a couple of candidates, and we took the interviews. We selected one of the candidates who is now working for us. The process was very smooth. 

They coordinate and communicate with the candidates. If someone is not selected, they don’t come to bother us because Accel handles everything right up until their first day at work to make sure it’s a smooth process. There is always someone in the middle which we like. They also check in on the candidates even a month or so after they have been hired which is something that I like, and it’s a very nice touch.

At least in the past six months, since I have been here, five profiles have been filled by them. They go through LinkedIn profiles and pick out candidates. They then shortlist them and then send them all to us. We decide who we want to call for the interview.

What is the team composition?

I have mainly worked with Yash (General Manager) and Rashmi (Senior Recruitment Consultant). We contact them whenever we have anything. If anyone else is involved they are put into the email loop.

How did you come to work with Accel HR Consultants?

I wasn’t a part of the company when they were hired. 

What is the status of this engagement?

I am not sure about the date, but I believe it was in 2018. All of the people I work with joined in 2018 and they have all come from Accel. Our company was formed in 2017.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Overall, we’re very happy with them. I personally got my job through this company. All the candidates they have sent to us have been pretty bang on in terms of the job description, and most of us here have even joined this company through them. They have always approached us in a very professional manner.

 As a potential candidate, they have explained to us exactly what the job is asking from us and then take our feedback on whether we would like to go for an interview. We are given enough information about the whole company so that when we go for the interview we are at ease because we know about the job profile and anything that the company has disclosed. We have been given enough information to go ahead and attend the interview pretty confidently.  

They are very professional, and they’re very friendly which is what we like. They are very down to earth, approachable, and friendly from both sides; from the candidate’s point of view as well as the employer's point of view. It is very easy to work with them. I would definitely recommend them, and I have recommended them to a lot of people. 

How did Accel HR Consultants perform from a project management standpoint?

They do a good job. They are very thorough when an employee approaches them looking for a job. They properly study the candidates and position before they recommend anyone. We have a lot of confidence in them when they tell us someone is a good fit for a position. They do their homework.

What did you find most impressive about them?

When I got a call from this Accel, they started with a proper introduction. They told me what the company does without disclosing the name due to confidentiality. Everything was clear when I went for the interview and that’s a very rare thing. Other companies just transfer the papers and let the individual deal with it.

Even if a candidate is rejected by us and wants to know where they went wrong when we explain we had a different type of candidate in mind, they understand what we want. This is because of Accel’s clear communication with the candidates. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Sometimes there are two or three people involved so there can be a little confusion at times. I prefer working with one person. That is a very minor thing and I’ve already spoken to Yash about it. He has made it a point to make sure that only he is in contact with me, and the rest of the team liaise with him.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Whoever wants to hire them has to be very clear as to what they want them to do. For example, if you want to appoint someone, be very specific and clear as to what kind of person you are looking for.

The clearer you are, the better it will be for them to get you the right candidates. If you are vague and aren’t sure about things like salaries, or keep the requirements from them, it will be more difficult to get you what you are looking for.
