I’m the business development manager of a health website. We’re a content platform that houses articles and videos.
What challenge were you trying to address with 9BITS?
We have an enormous reach and receive lots of traffic, around 10 million visitors a month. We wanted to open a marketplace and brought on 9BITS to help us achieve that.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They built our marketplace; the overall site is on Magento. Our platform collects offers for medical exams, medical procedures, and medical products such as dietary supplements and other health-related products.
What is the team composition?
We worked with the CEO, a product manager, five developers, and testers.
How did you come to work with 9BITS?
We chose them because their prices were competitive. They’re a budget-friendly company.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested about $100,000–$250,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The engagement was from December 2019–May 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re happy with the deliverables. 9BITS is flexible. They quickly adapted to any changes we wanted to implement on the product. We’re satisfied with the website. There’s still a lot to be done to improve and stand us apart from our competitors. The UX isn’t as satisfactory as it could be, and we’d like to change it in future months.
This isn’t because 9BITS did something wrong. It’s because of a business decision. At the beginning of the engagement, there were some performance problems. We addressed it with them, and they improved within a month or two.
How did 9BITS perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management was great. We had great communication through different platforms and meetings. We corresponded through emails, Microsoft Teams, Jira, and WhatsApp.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their accessibility and flexibility were excellent. They understood our priorities and adapted to them.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, nothing comes to mind.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Specify the range of functionalities you want in your product. Be as specific as you can before signing the agreement; check it twice.

We needed a partner who could help us develop a few mobile applications for our bike-sharing service.

9BITS’ responsibility was to develop mobile applications for iOS and Android. They prepared the integration with our core system and existing apps, a few Revel Systems, VPNs, and a tunnel link for the connections in some cities.
