BACKGROUND

Please describe your organization.

We're a company that provides solutions and original equipment manufacturing hardware to companies. We make printers, and we make software that help solve unstructured project management solutions.

What is your position?

I am the manager of global web development, so we take care of our global websites and the technology that build those websites.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What business challenge were you trying to address with 6D Global Technologies?

In our first engagement with 6D, we were converting our legacy custom in-house project management system to Adobe Experience Manager.

SOLUTION

Please describe the scope of their involvement in detail.

The original scope of the project was to handle dozens of public websites. The main one that we were doing is moving all of our public-facing websites to Adobe Experience Manager. We had to create new templates, new components and all-new implementation for all the content that we had and then migrate the content from the current sites to the new sites. As we got into the project, the scope of the project expanded to our partner referrals, referrals that our partners come to, and some internal sites that we provide marketing and sales content to people who work at our company.

How did you come to work with 6D Global Technologies?

Strangely enough, I found them through the literature that had been posted by them of the people in their organization. They had done several different types of blog posts and technical Adobe articles, and I liked the approach. I liked the thought leadership that he brought to that, so I reached out to them to find out more about their company and what they had to offer. That turned into an engagement.

Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?

It was $1 million-plus.

What is the status of this engagement?

Right now, we don't have any active projects with them. We just finished a project that they were part of last week. While we don't have anything currently engaged, it's because we're in-between larger projects. I'm sure that we'll have another one soon.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?

6D's projects were on time and on budget, so I think those were good metrics to have. We tracked our site usage prior to the transition and after the transition, and we had a higher level of customer engagement after the transition. We had a significant cost reduction in the cost it took to maintain the systems with AEM. We went from a vendor-provided software that we were using for our portals, and we put all that in AEM and saved those dollars that we had on an ongoing basis with the vendor with AEM.

How did 6D Global Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

For the most part, we have our own project managers. They brought a lot of the technical leadership, so it was how to solve technical problems and architecture problems. They provided skilled resources to be able to work with AEM and provide us some templates. For the most part, we handled the project management aspects of it. They embedded people with our team, and most of their people were onsite here working with us.

What distinguishes 6D Global Technologies from other providers?

They particularly had great AEM resources, and those are hard to find. Adobe Experience Manager resources are difficult to find, and they had very good resources in that way. The quality of 6D's technical resources was outstanding.

Is there anything 6D Global Technologies could have improved or done differently?

No. They did very well.
