The Big Dam Bridge 100

Arkansas' Largest Cycling Tour! The BDB 100 attracted nearly 3,000 cyclists from around the nation and multiple countries around the world in 2016. The Big Dam Bridge 100 is an annual Little Rock, Arkansas event that celebrates the "Big Dam Bridge" over the Arkansas River. The 4226-foot bridge is the longest bridge built for pedestrian and bicycle traffic in North America, and connects over 15 miles of scenic riverside trails

between Little Rock and North Little Rock. It also serves as the backbone for connecting over 70,000 acres of various city, county, state & federal parks.

The Big Dam Bridge 100 offers several routes ranging between 10 and 100 miles, with some beautiful mountain and river scenery, as well as a few challenging hills on the longer routes. The event provides participants with maps, well-stocked aid stations, great volunteer support, and an event t-shirt, a finisher product, as well as food and drinks. The event finish line ends in the Argenta District of downtown North Little Rock with a BDB100 block party and live music!

Feedback summary:

Traffic has continued to grow, and the site is free of complaints in terms of its navigability. 3wiredesigns' artistic capabilities were impressive, their communication, initially, was not optimal, however, is now consistent with good customer service standards.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

DLT Event Management produces participant-based sporting events.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with 3wiredesigns?

3wiredesigns has built and is managing our website.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

3wiredesigns has built multiple Joomla websites for us and is helping manage a few of them. They provided base design work which we approved beforehand. 3wiredesigns was not in charge of marketing work, but our last few website projects did feature on-site search engine optimization.

How did you come to work with 3wiredesigns?

I've known Chris, their digital marketing lead, for about 10 years. He's also an athlete and participates in many of our events. I started a conversation with him at one point, and we moved forward from there.

We had a tight budget at the time, and 3wiredesigns offered the highest-quality product for the lowest price.

How much have you invested with 3wiredesigns?

The cost of 3wiredesigns' work has been between $10,000 and $15,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We had our first discussions with 3wiredesigns in late 2009. The fist website was launched in February or March 2010. We have launched multiple sites since then.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

The absence of a website is negative from a marketing standpoint, whereas functional sites end up being in the neutral-to-positive range. Our traffic has continued to grow, and I haven't heard any complaints in terms of navigation.

How did 3wiredesigns perform from a project management standpoint?

We assigned milestones to meet for two of our most recent projects. 3wiredesigns was able to provide reporting and accommodated our deadlines. We mostly communicate via email and text.

What did you find most impressive about 3wiredesigns?

3wiredesigns' photography and artistic capabilities are impressive. Chris is a very good photographer himself, and he's well-versed in photo manipulation. He can give a feeling of either drama or happiness to a photo based upon his modifications.

Are there any areas 3wiredesigns could improve?

Initially, 3wiredesigns' communication was not optimal, but over the years, the team has grown and improved. If I have an emergency situation and send a text to Chris, he will get back in touch with me within 20–30 minutes. Typical issues are usually handled within 24 hours.

What tips or recommendations could you share that might increase the likelihood of success with 3wiredesigns?

I have recommended 3wiredesigns to some of our own clients, and they have worked together successfully.
