Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the office manager at Spectrum Solutions. We’re a small family business that provides services to solicitors and conveyancers at the end of the property cycle when people buy and sell their homes. We help with the transfer of property and registration of documents that go with that property.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with 1Cyber Pty Ltd?

We as a business used to be very manual, hands-on paper, and quite archaic in the way that we operate because that is how solicitors and lawyers operate. In the last 12 months, a lot of evolution has taken place and many processes have moved online. We needed to have IT support which we hadn’t had in the past as well as cybersecurity to bring everything up to speed.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

1Cyber Pty Ltd provides us with IT support services as well as cybersecurity. They assisted us in reviewing our cyber insurance information, installing new hardware, and ensuring that we have all the security we require. They also helped us transition from asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) to National Broadband Network (NBN) technology, offering support during that change-over. 

On a day-to-day basis, when something isn’t working, we can contact them. 1Cyber Pty Ltd does work onsite or remotely. They will even come in after-hours when we aren’t even there so that it doesn’t disrupt the day.

What is the team composition?

We work with two people.

How did you come to work with 1Cyber Pty Ltd?

They are an extension of where we started. One of their team members had a business prior to 1Cyber Pty Ltd, and we were dealing with him when 1Cyber Pty Ltd actually bought him out. We haven’t really seen a transition period as such because we have been dealing with that team member since the beginning.

How much have you invested in them?

We have spent about $8,000 AUD (approximately $5,400 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

The partnership started in August 2019 and is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Because a lot of what we do is online, we need to be up and running all the time. With 1Cyber Pty Ltd, we have never had any downtime. They have installed additional equipment and made sure our computers are up to speed to keep that up.

How did 1Cyber Pty Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?

If there is something I need, they provide me with a quote. When I sign off on the quote, they provide a timeline and always deliver on time and within budget.

They are great from a communication standpoint. I can pick up the phone and they respond. I know they have become more formalized in the way they quote things, but it’s because they are a larger company. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

From the very beginning, they have always been very responsive. They’re always very easy to get a hold of. As a small business, having a relationship with someone is quite important. They have been invaluable.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not that we are aware of. For what we use 1Cyber Pty Ltd for, they are great.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

I would definitely recommend them as a company.
