ONE Properties is focused on creating value through the acquisition, development and management of industrial, residential, retail, office and mixed-use properties in progressive markets. ONE develops and manages a shopping centre called Emerald Hills Centre.

Emerald Hills Centre is a landmark retail centre featuring 75 acres in Strathcona County’s Sherwood Park, an affluent bedroom community located 15 kilometres east of Edmonton. T

he shopping centre is Sherwood Park's largest and most successful open-air shopping destination and features over 50 tenants including local and national brands. Emerald Hills Centre's anchor tenants include Walmart Supercentre, Canadian Tire, Lowe’s, Sport Chek, Winners, Marshalls and Old Navy.

For what projects/services did your company hire 12 Creative?

ONE initially engaged and hired 12 Creative to put together a social media plan and calendar. We were very impressed by their services that they also put together revised branding for the shopping centre that is now executed across advertisements, website and social media.

What were your goals for this project?

Our goal is to increase online awareness and drive traffic to the centre and its portfolio of tenants.

ONE did a Google search on local agencies that had digital marketing experience. 12 Creative put together an impressive portfolio and response to our request and really liked the creative and work they did for their previous clients.

Digital marketing partner to strategize and manage the social media accounts for the Emerald Hills Centre.

12 creative works closely with ONE Properties to facilitate and promote posts for tenant promotions, Emerald Hills special events and marketing campaigns.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We've seen a significant increase in engagement in our posts on Facebook and Instagram.

Our internal team involved with the shopping centre (i.e. property management and retail leasing) were pleased with the revised branding.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Pretty effective. We have a clear line of communication throughout and we have worked out a solution that worked best for both parties for monthly social media posting calendars and other required marketing/branding items for social media and website.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They're a young, entrepreneurial team with a refreshing outlook. They also had ideas on how to improve our shopping centre's brand and marketing right out of the gate.

Progressive nature. Willing to try different and new aspects of marketing. Identifying our target market and developing specific campaigns to activate these markets. Willingness to work with our budget to extract the most value per dollar. The Team is focused on developing and promoting the local business community.

If anything, more delegation of tasks from the CEO & Team's leader - he takes on a lot of the responsibility for minor tasks.

12 Creative helped me with a safety campaign for two years in a row now. They booked the ads for me on social media and on Google. The team also suggested using Instagram influencers to market our safety message. They also thought of target markets that I hadn’t thought of before.

I work with three people from their team.

How did you come to work with 12 Creative?

I had some friends who had positive experiences working with 12 Creative so I thought I’d give them a try.

We’ve spent $40,000–$50,000 per project.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in September 2018, and we wrapped up in November 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The quality of work was really high. I love the ideas that they provided when we were sitting around the table thinking of how to execute the project. The team did a really good job and followed directions well. Originally, the creative they designed wasn’t part of our brand. After we talked to the team about that, they switched directions and it was great.

How did 12 Creative perform from a project management standpoint?

12 Creative performs really well. They kept everything on track and followed up with me whenever the ball was in my court to pass them some information, feedback, or approval. The team was very good at responding.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The creative minds behind 12 Creative are the best part. One of their ideas we decided to go with turned out really well. I really appreciate having a different perspective in making sure we’re taking the right approach with our messaging.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They delivered everything with the campaign really and were good at taking feedback. Overall, 12 Creative was really great to work with, so I don’t think I have any areas of improvement for them.

My advice is to listen to their ideas since they’re really great. The team is just easy to work with.

Our current branding did not capture our vision or mission when it came to the homebuilding experience we provided and the demographics we aimed to serve.
