Promotional video: Executive Forum Silicon Valley
Based on the Brand DNA Script that was distilled to 1.5 pages from 100 pages over 15 brainstorming and investigative sessions, we produced, directed, filmed and edited this video for the President of the Executive Forum Silicon Valley. This video tells his brand's unique value propositions and stories with verbal and visual brand messaging. I’m the founder and CEO of TEP.GLOBAL; we are a boutique consulting operation that focuses on anything that involves people and organizations.
What challenge were you trying to address with 10 Plus Brand, Inc.?
Our business challenge was branding; we wanted to brand our organization differently because there are so many consultants. We’ve been trying for years to do this, and we haven’t been very successful.
What was the scope of their involvement?
10 Plus Brand, Inc. worked on everything for us. They started with a deep dive into our company and looked at our personal stories to understand our background and what we were looking to do. The first step in the process was to find what they call the brand DNA, and to search for the thing that made our company unique.
After this, we went through the process of designing a new logo and name; they also created content for our website and coded it using WordPress. The website is completely unique, and they’ve helped us choose new imagery that represents us as an organization. 10 Plus Brand, Inc. has also been assisting us in defining our target audience.
We worked on SEO next, and they wrote everything for us. We went through keywords, and we collaborated to determine what would work best. 10 Plus Brand, Inc. also brought in a linguist for us to work with who specialized in optimizing the language.
We plan on keeping them on board for content creation, and we’re currently working on building our social media. This includes redoing our LinkedIn profile and then looking towards other platforms like Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.

We don’t have any metrics for the website yet, but we already have traction on LinkedIn, and people have been reaching out because of the new profile. We’ve also received positive feedback from our customers. This is by far the most professional, in-depth, and effective engagement we’ve had after working with different companies for nine years. The results speak for themselves.
How did 10 Plus Brand, Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve met all deadlines, stayed within budget, and have been very reliable. We communicate via Zoom, email, and phone calls.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They are incredibly in-depth and thorough. We’ve worked with other branding agencies before, but their approach has been completely different. 10 Plus Brand, Inc. really listens to our stories and has been able to put all of the pieces together in a way that we would never have been able to come up with. Identifying the core brand for my business, creating an overall rebranding strategy, and executing that strategy, including creating visual and written content for a new website, logo, and all social media.
How did you select this vendor?
I met the CEO, Joanne Tan, through a business development group to which we both belong. Joanne is so passionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated to her work. She is truly a strategic thought partner throughout the entire process. I chose her because of her expertise, direct approach, the way she connects personally with her clients, and how diligently she works to understand and serve each individual business.
Describe the scope of their work in detail, including any steps and the final deliverables.
Joanne met personally with me every step of the way. She first provided a document as pre-work to an intensive interviewing process about me, my mission, the type of clients I want to serve, my competition, etc.
Then, we met 1:1 throughout the process to drill down to the core elements of my brand, my "brand DNA." Those elements became the roots for everything we developed. She worked with me to tailor my LinkedIn details (personal and company) and my bio to authentically align with my brand DNA.
We strategized about a new name for the company to bring me forward into the next stage of my business. She worked with me to create a logo and social media visuals (e.g., LinkedIn banner and Zoom background). She and her team developed my website, transitioned core content from my existing website, and they are about to SEO the entire website.
Throughout this process, Joanne was a true thought partner and helped me ruthlessly prioritize my content based on the elements of my brand DNA, drilling down to the core, and creating a result that was clear, clean, and concise.

Three people. I primarily worked with Joanne Tan, the CEO. I also worked with two individuals who assisted me with creating a Podbean account for podcasts and how to most effectively provide the content to them. We have not yet launched the new brand. So I do not yet have data on the impact. However, I have signed up for ongoing services with 10 Plus Brand Inc., which speaks to my level of overall satisfaction and desire to continue to work with Joanne and her team.

Joanne provides great structure for the process. She meets with clients 1:1 to studiously walk them through the entire process. She was great at balancing high-quality content with really pushing to get things done. Communication tools were primarily email, Zoom, and Google. Everything with Joanne has a personal touch. She is the glue connecting everything together and ensuring a smooth, fluid experience for the client.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Joanne is a real thought-partner. The process for unearthing my DNA was deep, intensive work. The company seeks to learn everything they can about you and your business inside and out. As a result, she can capture that authenticity in her writing and in the visuals/brand elements she creates for you. The experience really helped me to become more clear about who I am as a coach and practitioner, the clients I want to serve, and how I want to continue to develop my business.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Joanne has such a hands-on approach, and the client is involved at every step. There may be elements of the process that could be done without the client present so the client's schedule doesn't slow the process and a little less time is required from the client.

I’m a solopreneur with a coaching and consulting practice. I work with executive leaders and business owners.
What challenge were you trying to address with 10 Plus Brand?
I needed their team to uniquely market the services that I offered.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Initially, 10 Plus Brand asked me to complete a 40-question survey for them to completely understand my business and the unique services that I offered to my customers. After that, we had a series of conversations to discuss what must be done to refine my brand and meet all my goals. Their team solely focused on identifying my business’s core strengths and how to promote those effectively. More importantly, they helped me articulate what my practice meant and how I was supposed to use that to provide exclusive services to people.

Joanne precisely articulated what I offered my customers and why I wanted to offer it — I was able to find more relevance to the kind of work I was doing because of her team’s efforts. Prior to this, I had a pretty solid yet varied career, working different roles for different target customers, but 10 Plus Brand helped identify what was unique about my skills and my services. We’re a commercial insurance broker.
What challenge were you trying to address with 10 Plus Brand, Inc.?
In recent years, it has become a necessity for businesses to have a presence online. 10 Plus Brand, Inc. put together digital marketing campaign for us that would grow our presence on social media sites, such as LinkedIn.
What was the scope of their involvement?
At the beginning of the project, they gave me a 10-page packet of questions for me to answer. Once I went through that, they refined my mission statement and identified what we needed to change on my website.
Then they redesigned and developed our website from start to finish. Recently, they redid the website again due to changes in Google’s algorithm.
From there, they outlined a digital marketing strategy. They created social media profiles on platforms such as LinkedIn. They also write monthly blog posts. Not only do we feature their articles on our website, but we also post them on social media. 10 Plus Brand, Inc. makes sure we have all of the hashtags included on those posts as well.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner and president of a business coaching organization. We focus on groups of leaders and leadership teams.
What challenge were you trying to address with 10 Plus Brand?
We wanted to promote our business through a series of videos using the communication of our brand and the references and testimonials of our customers.
What was the scope of their involvement?
10 Plus Brand started the process with what they call a ‘DNA Process,’ which is a series of discovery interviews that establish our value proposition as an organization, the essence of the market we want to address, and the problems we’re trying to solve for our customers. From that information, the team started creating the script for the video. Later, their team came to one of our coaching sessions to create the content in line with the script that described our value proposition and our customers' excitement about our services.
Members who participated in that session later went into separate video calls with 10 Plus Brand’s team and provided testimonials about our services and about what they individually get out of working with us; I think that’s where we doubled up and got the most value. Through those conversations, they captured enough footage time to create a brand video for our forums offering, which we can use on YouTube, with email campaigns, and in our email signatures. We also utilize those testimonials as a whole or edit them for individual use, so that we can get a lot of content from those videos; it’s been 18 months, and we’re still applying them for our business.
What is the team composition?
We worked primarily with Joanne (CEO), but more people were involved in the scriptwriting and the filming processes.
How did you come to work with 10 Plus Brand?
I met Joanne through a networking group called ProVisors, and she later came to speak to one of my business owner groups, so I got a chance to see what she was offering. During that process, she got a client out of that, and I later got feedback from that engagement. Everybody talked about YouTube and how businesses have to have video content, so we decided to do something about it and selected Joanne’s work.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project lasted from July–October 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve been getting positive feedback from people telling me that we have great videos. Last week, I received an email saying that they enjoy the story in the video of how I grew to become the entrepreneur that I am. Additionally, we regularly attach the testimonial videos when somebody I first meet wants to know more about what we do. I’m sure that 10 Plus Brand has a dime in that dollar every time we move forward.
I can say that 10 Plus Brand helped to streamline the qualification process for us. Now people see our work, and they know our capabilities, which allows us to modify faster. That’s golden.
How did 10 Plus Brand perform from a project management standpoint?
I’m a stickler for detail, so I was on top of everything all the time. I had to be turned around to see things from their expertise and perspective, and everything went great. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, we communicated in person. We also communicate through emails, Zoom, and shared documents.
What did you find most impressive about them?
What differentiates 10 Plus Brand is the way that they get to know the essence of a client’s business and amplify it into creating content that aligns.
Are there any areas they could improve?
One of the things that can be improved is giving context to the clients. 10 Plus Brand’s team knows the material and the process so well. They just told me how they were going to do everything. If they gave some context to understand the big picture better, I might not have been as much as a burr under the saddle for them.
Any advice for potential customers?
Don’t try to get in the middle and add too much of your ingredients to the soup; understand that they know what they’re doing.

The project was done over several web interview sessions which got into great detail about my motivations and life experience. This allowed 10 Plus to obtain a sound understanding of why I went to work in this industry and what specific strengths I bring to my clients.

I worked with one person, Joanne.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
I am very satisfied with the outcome. I am not comfortable talking about myself. The process with 10 Plus helped me describe myself authentically. By having shared my lifetime of personal experiences with Joanne, we were able to use that discovery to craft my personal message on LinkedIn.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The workflow was very easy. Joanne was wonderful to work with. We scheduled our interview times about once per week.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Most impressive is the process went as promised and her personal style made me comfortable sharing my success and failure and what motivates me. The end result was something I would never have been able to write on my own.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
No areas to improve. Joanne and 10 Plus offers a valuable service.
