Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the director of e-commerce for McEvoy Ranch. We’re a producer of extra virgin organic olive oils, high-end wines and natural beauty products.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with #10 LLC?

McEvoy Ranch needed to update their e-commerce presence with a redesign of their website along with ongoing maintenance of the site’s Magento platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

#10 LLC assisted with the planning and design of a new version of the site. We worked closely with Tom (Founder, #10 LLC) in establishing the layout and features along with upgrades to the backend. #10 provided all the Magento development support to build the new site. Their team also built a mini site to support our recent Social Club launch.

Our main site utilizes Magento for the shopping cart, multiple product categories, and an integrated WordPress blog. Tom also collaborated with us on digital marketing efforts, including the implementation of SEO best practices. He also has a team of freelancers that assist with more complex development solutions and content entry.

What is the team composition?

I work directly with Tom who manages his own team.

How did you come to work with #10 LLC?

They were already working with McEvoy Ranch when I joined the company in 2016.

How much have you invested with them?

Since 2016 we’ve invested about $250,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Their team had been working with McEvoy Ranch since August 2014, but we worked together on the new site between August–November 2016. Since then, we’ve had an ongoing maintenance contract that specifies a number of hours of supporting work each month.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

After launching the new site, our conversion rate increased by 40%–60%. Site traffic also increased significantly. We’ve been very happy with the project’s outcome.

How did #10 LLC perform from a project management standpoint?

It’s been an effective arrangement; Tom and I have worked closely throughout the engagement. He’s almost always available, which is important in working in e-commerce since our store is open 24/7. I usually communicate with him via Slack or email with occasional phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Even on weeknights and weekends, Tom is exceptionally responsive. This has been a significant advantage for us, and it’s a big part of why we feel that we can rely on him and trust him as a partner.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Nothing comes to mind. There have been some challenges associated with our relatively low budget for the engagement, but everything we’ve developed with them to date has met or exceeded our expectations.

Provide as much context as possible and define your expectations before starting the project.
