What challenge were you trying to address with Wonsupona?

We were going to launch a new product line and wanted unique names that were consistent with one another.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Wonsupona provided branding services, specifically product naming. They initially sent us a questionnaire, and from there, we had a follow-up phone call where they understood the project's scope and what we wanted to get out of it.

Wonsupona understood how we wanted the customer to feel when they heard the name. We were looking for one name but decided to get five because we knew what our product roadmap looked like. We knew we were going to have four additional products, and we thought it would be good if the tiers were relevant and relatable to one another.

Wonsupona went away and came back to us with a series of names they thought could work for us. We had a follow-up meeting where they presented the names to us. When they delivered the names, they didn't just have the name; they had the story behind it, taking in some of the inspiration we wanted the names to invoke. They displayed the names for the main product we were after and the rest of the tiers.

We mixed and matched the names we liked the best. There was one name we couldn't place, so the team went away and did another revision. They gave us more prospects, and we liked one of them.

Wonsupona also did market research. We gave them some competitors we had in the space, and the team went away and researched what companies in our industry do when they name their products. The team came back with a final presentation, where they asked clarifying questions about different brands and how they do their naming.

We were very pleased with the overall experience. Wonsupona was very professional and did a great job identifying what each person wanted and ensuring it was encapsulated in the final product. The team gave us clarity and descriptive text we could use on brand identity and a backstory for our brand, which we really liked.

They met deadlines and stayed on budget. We primarily communicated through email. We were a little wishy-washy because we hadn’t been through this process before, but the team did a great job of holding our hands through the process and pulling out of us the things we valued in names.

Goal of the project was to come up with a name for a new product we were developing. The project included multiple stages towards narrowing down and ultimately choosing a name that satisfied a set of criteria that were outlined at the beginning of the mandate.

Molly and her team at Wonsupona were extremely professional and responsive. During the regular meetings we had throughout the mandate, they came prepared and full of great ideas. Whenever there was an issue or if something needed to be course corrected, they adapted seamlessly.

I am the CEO of Wayfarer. Wayfarer is a knowledge-sharing platform that gives libraries, schools, and nonprofits the ability to elevate and gamify their underutilized resources so that knowledge seekers can find what they need, when they need it.

We had 10 different versions of our story and couldn't find a common thread. Our goal was to get help weaving everything together into one beautiful story.

How did you select this vendor?

I started by looking for help on a site that lists branding agencies. I saw Molly's profile and her case studies and loved them so much I looked up her company and found even more case studies. I like to look at the work people have actually done as opposed to what they say, and was so impressed with the examples of prior clients of Wonsupona's that I emailed them to learn more about their packages.

Scope of work was a story development -- basically, a 1-sentence, a 1-paragraph, and a story. Those were also the final deliverables. The "Steps" are covered in another one of the answers.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Wayfarer unlocks superpowers! Molly presented us with two directions for the messaging -- both were perfect, but the "superpower" concept applied to Wayfarer gave us goosebumps. It came out of nowhere, was so "original" compared to the dozens of pages of notes I sent her to tell her more about what Wayfarer does. And it dramatically simplified our messaging and made our company more attractive to customers.

We had timeline-based meetings. We sent initial materials, had a meeting, filled out an information-gathering survey, had another meeting, got the initial two proposed directions, had another meeting, and then got a completed story. Communication was split between email and Zooms. Timeliness was impeccable -- got email replies within 1-2 hours. The project moved at exactly the pace I wanted; when we got excerpts of the story/direction, we were given time to ruminate.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

In one word -- Magical. I really can't say enough great things. Maybe to set an anchor -- prior to Wonsupona, I had never met a marketing/branding person that did work for us where I was truly happy with the final product. I divulged that in our initial meeting to try to set expectations. I keep thinking about the first time I read the initial two directions of Wayfarer's story and "magical" is the word that comes to mind. I literally had goosebumps being so excited to see in "short-form" exactly what we've been trying to figure out how to say for a long time.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I realize this is an insanely positive review, so I'll offer one suggestion so it doesn't seem fake (it's not -- please msg me and I'm happy to give more details about why I appreciated Molly & Wonsupona's work for us so much -- I'm happy to do a call even b/c I appreciate what they did) -- Once we settled on the full story and I offered feedback, I would've liked to have seen it presented possibly with some time delay. Toward the very end it was a bit of seeing the sausage made, and my preference is to someone to say -- "I've taken all your suggestions, thought about them, and this is your story -- I won't accept any more changes, it's perfect, and you can't change anything else or else you'll break it." But my point is likely an outlier b/c it's basically saying, "You shouldn't listen to me too much or incorporate my feedback." But that goes back to the magic Wonsupona performed -- when we read the first two potential directions our story could take, it somehow took exactly the right pieces we wanted and crafted them in a way that were just so delicious. It gave me goosebumps reading them, literally. I appreciated their work b/c I know how hard it is to take lots of information and make it shorter -- we even talked about the Mark Twain quote: “I didn’t have time to write you a short letter, so I wrote you a long one.”

We started by doing competition research and going through several interview sessions to discuss our requirements for the deliverables and discover our mission as a business. Consequently, we chose one and worked together to edit it as necessary.

Wonsupona’s work has been excellent so far; they’ve been helpful in providing advice to position our business successfully. Also, Molly is a great fit for our company and gives us good ideas through a transparent and supportive approach — Wonsupona is a great partner overall.

Wonsupona spoke with me in detail about our business, our desired marketing message, etc. She made it clear that she was not a graphic designer that would deliver a final pitch deck, but that she could recommend one who could finalize the book. Nevertheless, after numerous iterations with two way communication throughout, Wonsupona delivered a beautifully designed blueprint for a professional pitchbook with a focused message.

Our fundraising timeline has been a bit elongated due to COVID concerns, nevertheless our message has been extremely well received by investors.

The project management style was above all else, collaborative. There was adequate time allowed for multiple turns, communication, and an iterative process to make sure we got it right.

Wonsupona was very generous with their time, never a clock watcher. Molly took the time to understand our business, ask knowledgeable and insightful questions, and clearly put in a lot of thought and effort into the final product.

I am the project manager of a luxury Longevity Institute opening in the UAE. We offer a range of longevity services, including diagnostics, therapeutics and online education.

As a start-up, we were looking for an agency to name the brand and service centres and develop the brand narrative.

We went through an international search for branding agencies to work on this project, considering agencies in the USA, Australia and Europe.

We ultimately selected Wonsupona due to its specialisation in naming and brand narrative development and the quality and experience of its personnel and the team that would be working on our project. We also liked working for a small, boutique agency.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We have a group of very opinionated and highly selective stakeholders, and the best results thus far in the project is that the brand name and service center names, the mission and value statements as well as the brand narrative deliverables were able to unite the stakeholders vision of the brand, and satisfy their varied and selective opinions.

Initial feedback from the marketing team, potential customers and business plan auditors have also been extremely positive and supportive of the project's deliverables.

The project management style was very personalised, very strong communication and clear outline of timelines and progress throughout the project.

We communicated primarily over email and zoom, and the responsiveness was impressive throughout the process, and the personalised nature of the communication made the project run smoothly.

I found that the specialisation of this company makes them very unique - they do what they do very well, and since they are focused on the area of the branding process that they have experience in, it means that we get the best results.

I was also impressed with the personalised management style, as well as the fact that while they have a clear structure and process, they were also very flexible to adapt to our unique needs as a clients.

I was pleased with all aspects of their service.

I’m the head of growth for ClipHire. We’re a personal employment branding platform. It’s a comprehensive, all-in-one platform that allows people to look for jobs and employers to hire talent.

We provide a profile for job seekers where they upload a video, their resume, and a link to their calendar, as well as the ability to message employers. If you are a hiring manager, you can view a candidate’s profile and then schedule an interview.

I oversee any and all operations in the marketing and sales process to help drive revenue.

What challenge were you trying to address with Wonsupona?

We wanted to address the overall messaging of the content on our social media platforms, our emails, and our home page. Our platform gives job seekers the opportunity to take control of the interview process and their professional branding. Our main message is that people are more than what is listed on their resume.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

In our first meeting, we gave them a high-level understanding of what we do and our goals. In the second meeting, Wonsupona presented us with information about our competitors, including their verbiage and content, as well as content they’d created for us. From there we gave them feedback. I’d also prepared a PowerPoint presentation with my thoughts. Molly (Founder & Strategic Storyteller) took that information and changed and added things over the course of the next week. She presented the final content information, and we provided additional feedback, which was implemented quickly.

Our work took place throughout March 2021. We’re working on our platform in two chunks. The first part is focused on the job-seeker side. Once that is fully complete, we’re going to transition to the employer-focused side. If we need any help with content and verbiage on the employer side, then we’ll work with Molly again.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The website is up and running, but we’re completely restructuring the entire UX/UI right now, so the new messaging isn’t live. We don’t have metrics at this point.

How did Wonsupona perform from a project management standpoint?

I thought Wonsupona was amazing. We’re working with other independent contractors and vendors for the design and development of the website, and my experience so far is that Molly is definitely the best. She took our views and opinions into consideration. Other companies believe they know what’s best for us, but Molly asked us what we liked and didn’t like. She put her twist onto our feedback and made it professional.

We communicated over emails and video calls. Molly was concise, and her responses were on time. There was no rescheduling or missed deadlines. Communication was timely.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I almost preferred that Wonsupona was a one-person team. It allowed Molly and us to roll up our sleeves together and make the content and the branding and the verbiage very personal and accurate.

To give an example, we’re working with a company to create a video explaining what we do. We tell them what we want, and they put their team on it, but we don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes there. I liked knowing what was going on at every step in the process with Wonsupona. Molly took our considerations seriously.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t think Wonsupona could have done anything to better their service. We had a fairly simple project — content for social media and other places — and Molly knocked it out of the park.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Let Molly do her thing. Because we gave her a lot of detail, she had a strong understanding of the roadmap we wanted to follow. This made it easier for her to integrate our feedback. We didn’t leave any stone unturned regarding our thoughts on our vision and content.

What were your goals for this project?

I made my original set of materials myself and while they did the job just fine in helping my firm get started, they were not nearly at the level of design excellence or quality I knew would be necessary to grow larger. So I asked Wonsupona to help me tell the story in a much more updated and crisp fashion with new materials.

We were recently acquired by an institutional investor. We bought two businesses and were putting them under one corporate entity, so we needed to brand that corporate entity with a new architecture. We specifically needed Wonsupona to develop a new name.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Wonsupona primarily did the naming, but they were highly engaged throughout the brand architecture project. They worked closely with an individual consultant that we brought on. Wonsupona helped us identify who we are, how we’re positioned in the marketplace, and how our customers differentiated us. 

The team also dug in with our employees to understand what it was about our culture that was special and what made us go. They then helped to develop a brand and a name based on all of those different factors.

Molly gave us a menu of 15 naming options that were a great fit for the company we are today and who we want to be. We selected three names, all of which we’re very happy with, and we actually bought the domain for one of them.

It was so clear that her work really encompassed all of the learning that we built out together with our team, customers, and internal project group. It was a great outcome. 

How did Wonsupona perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management was very good. We had weekly check-ins, which was very helpful, and Molly was very transparent throughout the process about what specifically she was engaged in and when it was time for her to do the brainstorming work. We communicated via phone and email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The end result was impressive. The names Wonsupona brainstormed and came back to us with were great. Molly did a great job of listening to our feedback about the company we wanted to be and what other company names we liked and disliked within the industry. 

She took all of that feedback into consideration when doing her brainstorming. She came back with 15 names, and we could’ve gone with 13 of them. I thought we would only get one or two that we liked, but we got more, so it was a well-thought-out project on her end.

No, I have no suggestions. We were happy with Wonsupona because they delivered on the exact scope that we set out to accomplish in August.

Set up a weekly check-in on a recurring cadence to understand specifically what the team is working on and what they need from you as the client. Molly pushed us to ensure that she had what she needed to develop a menu of names that aligned with our brand.

Wonsupona conducted a detailed review of our existing messaging, customers (audiences), brand research and future strategy. Molly and team conducted detailed interviews of key stakeholders across our company, and also had us complete targeted exercises. Then she led us through an insightful workshop culminating in three choices for our ultimate deliverable. Upon choosing our favorite, Wonsupona refined and completed the deliverable.

The process was fast and streamlined yet thoughtful. The coming-up-to-speed steps were completed efficiently. The outcomes were high-quality, yet open to feedback from the team. We appreciated the ability to continue to hone in on the best possible brand identity deliverable.

Molly and her team have an innate talent for communication - written and verbal. Our products and strategy are nuanced, and we've struggled to articulate it cleanly. Wonsupona naturally helped us figure it out fast.
