WebPlanex developed a WordPress site that allows their client to sell gift cards for their service and to edit its content through an admin view.
The new website design has increased the salon's business and reputation. WebPlanex's attention to detail and responsiveness stood out.
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
BACKGROUND
Please describe your organization.
We're a full-service tanning spa.
What is your position?
I'm the General Manager.
OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE
What business challenge were you trying to address with WebPlanex?
I worked with WebPlanex just to completely redo and redesign our website. We had an existing website. I wanted to completely revamp it and improve it.
SOLUTION
Please describe the scope of their involvement in greater detail.
WebPlanex built a whole brand new WordPress site from scratch.
The nice thing is that they also built a complete admin for it as well. We're also able to purchase gift cards on our site now, which was a feature we were not able to do before. The client can go on there and literally pay for the gift cards through the website now.
They worked hand and hand with my existing SEO person to facilitate all of that. One thing I might add is that my website is a ‘.la.’ It's not a .’com’ domain. When it came time to switch over, unfortunately, the .la registry was not good about getting back to us as far as customer service is concerned. This company really went the extra mile night after night making sure that everything was handled.
How did you come to work with WebPlanex?
Actually, I was doing some research online. What I generally did was I was looking at other tanning salons, tanning spa websites from across the country to just get ideas. Obviously, if its' the same type of business, then they might have some things in there that they're doing a little bit better on their website than ours.
I ran across another company back in Georgia Solar Dimensions. I noticed at the bottom of their site that they used WebPlanex. That's how I found them was because they had built Solar Dimensions a website. At the time, the Solar Dimension's website was, by far, the nicest site I had seen of any tanning salon in the country. When you're looking at a website, you have to envision it for your type of business.
Could you provide a sense of the size of this initiative in financial terms?
It cost under $10,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
It lasted from September, 2015 to March, 2016. It was a six-month project, but that wasn't because of them. It was because of me just changing my mind and whatnot. It was a six-month project. There was no rush because I already had an existing good website. I was just really taking my time, making changes. There was a design change. They're very reasonable on any sort of additions cost-wise.
RESULTS & FEEDBACK
Could you share any statistics or metrics from this engagement?
From a design perspective, when a client goes to your website, that's their first impression of your business. I really feel that WebPlanex brought my business to a more upscale appearance with the new website. Obviously, being able to purchase gift cards on the site also helped.
The other nice feature that we did map with our previous site was when someone does enter their email, they can download a voucher for the particular service that they want. They helped increase our business because we have a variety of services. Now, they can choose the type of service they want, download the voucher right on their phone or computer to show it to us when they come in. Now, we have customers calling on the phone and saying, "I have a voucher for this or a voucher for that." I've definitely noticed an uptick in business because of that.
How did WebPlanex perform from a project management standpoint?
WebPlanex were excellent. They're so great about getting back to you the same day. Obviously, I realized that dealing with someone in India and, obviously, they're working on a bunch of other projects as well. Whenever I would email them, 99% of the time I always heard back within the same day.
What distinguishes WebPlanex from other providers?
They follow up, they pay attention to detail, and they do not nitpick for every little thing when there's a change. What really stood out as well at the very end of the project when we were switching over from one server to another, the .la registry was just not been responsive at all.
These guys just spent night after night or, in their case, day after day making sure that everything got handled the right way. They didn't even charge me for that extra time to switch over. They computed it as the switching over is something that's included. I didn't get a bill for like, "Oh, well we had to spend an extra five hours doing this." They did what needed to be done. They got it done on time and were very responsive in their replies.
Is there anything WebPlanex could have improved or done differently?
No, not at all. I would definitely use them again.
