What challenge were you trying to address with WebFX?

We were doing pretty well and then the pandemic hit. I discovered that the majority of my clients were coming from the community, so when everything shut down, the community referrals weren’t coming anymore. I realized that there was a big hole in my advertising and marketing.

WebFX has different packages, so I chose the SEO one since I was about to relaunch my website. They did local and global SEO. Additionally, they are working on redesigning and updating my website.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Everything they’ve done for me has been really good. All of the updates made a difference, but I know that SEO takes months and they did a good job of setting my expectations. 

They launched a social media campaign, and within the first 15 days, my practice went from having a minimal amount of likes to about 45 likes and about 1000 engagements, which was impressive.

Due to the pandemic, my calls had dropped down to about 21 new patient calls in May, which was really low. In June, when the website launched, my calls went up to about 47 new calls. In July, we’re already at 39 calls per month. If this trend continues, we’ll double last month’s numbers.

How did WebFX perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is great. I communicate with my main points of contact via email a couple of times a week. We also have conference calls 2–3 times per month, depending on what we’re doing. 

I can easily contact them, and they check in with me every step of the way. The team is very transparent about everything they’re doing and which staff member is doing what. They also break it down so that I can understand. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

I have friends who’ve hired marketing companies, and they always say that it’s not clear what the agency is working on. WebFX is very transparent and on top of everything. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not at the moment. It’s been worth more than the investment.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don’t be afraid of the investment. In the two months that I’ve worked with them, I’ve seen great growth. Spending a little bit now makes a big difference later. 

The team is very engaged and professional, and they seem to know what they’re talking about. They’re not afraid to give me their opinion about what will and won’t work. It’s been great.

What challenge were you trying to address with WebFX?

We had two different challenges. The first challenge was that we ranked low on Google and Bing search results. We wanted to create an SEO campaign that would raise our rankings. The second challenge was that we didn’t have a thorough analysis of what users did on our website and social media platforms. We wanted higher conversion rates that we could analyze.

What was the scope of their involvement?

WebFX developed a local SEO campaign that included identifying keywords for us to focus on as we launched the initiative. They also implemented a number of tools that provide us with different data points.

Their team created a competitor analysis tool that allowed us to closely monitor our competitors in terms of keyword analysis. They also provided a tool that allowed us to better monitor what content consumers read and how long they remain on our website.

We have a point person who interacts with the rest of the WebFX team. It’s helpful to deal with only one person instead of 10–15 different individuals.

How did you come to work with WebFX?

We interviewed 4–5 different SEO firms, both local and national. I found WebFX through an online forum where one of their teammates discussed their solutions and appreciation for the company. I looked into them and saw their number of reviews. When we talked, they seemed knowledgeable and offered a number of proprietary tools that I hadn’t seen from any other SEO company. Their tools and level of engagement ultimately made my decision.

How much have you invested with them?

There’s a higher cost upfront with SEO companies depending on the size of the campaign. That price dwindles as the engagement transitions more towards maintenance.

Right now, we’re paying $3,500 per month. That’ll reduce to the $1,500 range starting next month.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started the engagement in May 2020, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We implemented a tool through which we can better analyze how long different customers or prospective clients stay on our website and what they view. Based on that data, we redesigned parts of our website.

They also implemented a telephone marketing tool. We’re better able to track who’s calling our company. We integrate that data with our HubSpot data to understand our leads and conversions. Their tools have already proven useful to us.  

How did WebFX perform from a project management standpoint?

We have a weekly meeting with our project manager when she goes over what their team accomplished. She also explains their technologies to the extent that we’re interested in the information. Over the course of a week, we engage with our project manager 6–7 times via e-mail. It’s been incredible to have that level of engagement from a third-party service provider.

WebFX also has a project calendar that allows us to track what their team does on any given day. It’s been a benefit to not have an SEO project on our plate. Their project management’s honestly incredible.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The first way that WebFX stands out is through their use of proprietary tools. They have a number of tools that I haven’t seen from other national companies. We received an unexpected package of features from WebFX that has added value to our business.

The second way they stand out is through their level of service. Their team’s responsive and transparent. That allows us to feel more comfortable about the project’s progress by understanding exactly when milestones will be achieved.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Constructive feedback’s important, but I can’t think of anything for them to improve. At this point, we’ve had a wholly positive experience.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Before engaging any SEO firm, you should have a clear understanding of your goals. Make them broader than simply trying to increase your Google rankings because there’s much more to accomplish. Once you engage an SEO firm, readjust your objectives to include more specific goals and KPIs according to that firm’s capabilities.

We wanted to create content for our blog and website that would improve our ability to grab organic traffic. We felt that by working with a partner that specializes in SEO, we could move the needle even further.

What was the scope of their involvement?

WebFX provides us with content that’s mostly published on our blog. They learned our business, which allows them to suggest new content avenues. Their team does keyword research and identifies ways to create content that would improve our rankings for keywords. They also work with us on our link building efforts.

Their team works well with our other partner that manages our PPC campaigns. If WebFX creates a piece that experiences good traffic, they’ll suggest that our other partner promote it.

We looked into a few different agencies but chose WebFX based on their website content. It was apparent that their team was knowledgeable about content marketing. Their content seemed leaps and bounds above their competitors.

We probably spend between $50,000–$70,000 a year.

We started our partnership in January 2018, and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We’ve seen incredible growth in organic traffic to our blog. Last month, we had a 117% growth in organic traffic. We’ve also started to rank in the first and second spots on the first search results page for keywords. That’s following through with revenue. We’ve easily made back our investment and then some.

Their team quickly learned our business. They suggest great new content avenues where we can make an impact.

How did WebFX perform from a project management standpoint?

We have a scheduled monthly call and our project manager always checks in. She’s flexible in her role. For example, she was forthcoming with ideas that weren’t in her scope of work when COVID-19 hit. She went above and beyond, which showed investment in our brand. I’m impressed by the relationship.

What did you find most impressive about them?

There’s a tangible difference between other SEO providers and WebFX. Their care for us as a client is apparent and genuine, which makes a difference. The project management by Cheyenne is definitely a huge plus. She doesn’t forget tasks and makes sure we’re up to date.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They have a new platform for providing content, which is overall great. However, it’s clunky in transferring written content into the backend of our blog. It takes a little longer than I would like it to, but it’s not a complaint that would keep me from using their services.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

In the beginning, we felt close to our brand and felt that we knew what we should do. Once we gave them more range, they noticed opportunities that we didn’t because we were too close to our brand. Don’t be afraid to give them space to bring in their own ideas.

They helped us with a web security package to keep our website secure. WebFX continues to work on aspects of our website such as speed and code issues.

WebFX’s works on organic initiatives, so their scope doesn’t include PPC campaigns. They create long-form content and research keyword. While we write our own blog posts, they’ll review them for SEO purposes and update them accordingly. Their team also builds links for us.

We work with an account manager who’s our main point of contact. He brings in other people when necessary.

The partnership started before I joined the company. Basically, my company wanted to work with the best SEO agency available. My colleagues based their decision on WebFX’s reviews, testimonials, and research.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Since WebFX joined our team, we experienced exponential growth in both web traffic and online revenue. In June of 2018, we had 283 organic visitors to our site. In June of 2019, we had 4,972 organic visitors. In June 2020, we had 52,189 organic visitors. Our traffic grows 10x each year. Our organic revenue has skyrocketed as well. The number of accounts created from organic search now makes up over 30% of all new accounts.

How did WebFX perform from a project management standpoint?

We communicate and track projects entirely online. WebFX finds solutions and executes them. They want to succeed and don’t make excuses, unlike our past third-party vendors. While their team does have other services, they don’t upsell us, which is refreshing. I also appreciate their friendliness.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The results speak for themselves. WebFX delivered what they said they would deliver, which is surprisingly hard to find. It’s easy to work with them. Their team answers our questions. They’re responsive and helpful. Their team wants us to succeed, making them a good partner.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I like that they don’t upsell us, but I wish that I had better visibility into all of their services. There were a couple of times when I tried to find a solution and then realized WebFX could help me. However, part of that’s because I didn’t ask early enough.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you want to be successful, give them clear goals. Treat them as a partner. Don’t expect them to do everything for you. Feed them ideas and leverage their expertise by asking for their advice.

I’m the marketing director at a revenue cycle management company, which is a fancy name for medical billing and coding. We specialize in the radiology field. I’m in charge of all marketing assets of the company whether that be digital assets, blogs, websites, social media, etc. I’m responsible for any outward-facing collateral like public relations and press releases.

Aside from web design, they also provide SEO efforts. They’re basically our go-to for anything website related. They’re responsible for any major backend-related updates we need including content writing, yearly security implementation and maintenance, HTML, and coding work.

When I first joined the company in 2017, I worked closely with them to help redesign our email template coming out of HubSpot. In regards to SEO, they conduct keyword research, rewrite content, and provide recommendations for our blog.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Overall our website views and general metrics have only improved since the start of the engagement. We’ve been seeing a gradual month over month and year over year increase in organic traffic and other types of traffic as well. I definitely attribute the success to WebFX and the guidance they’ve given us over the years. Their design help has been very important and useful for us.

How did WebFX perform from a project management standpoint?

They handle project management exceptionally well; I rarely, if ever, have to wait for a response. With Maddie, we had scheduled monthly meetings where we go over the previous month’s report and look at organic traffic and the different facets of our website. I communicate frequently via email with Madison and we have regularly scheduled phone calls.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their ability to really understand what we’re trying to do and help us implement that is really important. I’m very much aware that we’re not their only client and they’re really big on customer service in that way by giving us a lot of attention; it’s top-notch. 

One of the most important things to me is creating relationships and I just love the relationship that we’ve built and Maddie feels like part of our team. She delivers with a personal feel and is very open, which makes me feel like I’m never afraid to ask for something because I know she’s going to give me her honest opinion.

Honestly, I can’t say there is anything.

Go into it with the mindset that this is a relationship you want to cultivate and grow. Look at these people as an extension of your team. I think when you accept and bring in someone as a member of your team, you allow them to learn and impart your knowledge on them, which makes it easier for them to help you.

We saw a significant increase in website traffic and qualified leads over the last three years. In 2019, we saw the conversions were a higher value of sale. They clearly know how to target high-quality leads and adjust our campaigns along the way.

How did WebFX perform from a project management standpoint?

We do hold a monthly call to go over certain requests and discuss where we are on certain tasks. Throughout the month, we use Basecamp and it’s very easy to communicate with them on the fly. They’re very responsive, and we just moved to Teamwork. The communication between our team and theirs is constant, especially over email.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I appreciate that Andrea and her team are always willing to provide suggestions. We weren’t familiar with all the possibilities for our business, and they help us develop strategies. They really collaborate with me to determine where we could improve. They also have access to different tools, especially since they’re a Google Premiere Partner. They have access to some data testing, that has helped provide significant results.

No, they’re doing just fine.

The more that WebFX can understand about your business and how you want to be perceived online, the easier it will be to get started. We spent a good chunk of 2018 getting them on the same page. They have a big team of writers, so they can’t know everything about your business unless someone communicates that really well.

I’m not a computer person, so I needed help from experts to make sure that doctors could find me wherever they were looking on the web.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Through a number of different mechanisms, WebFX ensures that my audience finds my website when searching for jobs. Their team does SEO to make sure my website ranks towards the top of search results. They track numerous keywords and create a monthly report that shows where my website ranks.

Their team also reviews the language on my website to ensure it includes keywords. They look at my website and identify ways to enhance my rankings on Google. For example, this month we worked on combining all of the similar blog posts related to interview questions. When I post a new job online, they advise me on what words to use in the snippet and description.

Their team made my website much more SEO friendly. As a result of their efforts, I've received more leads. They’ve increased organic traffic as well as the number of clients that contact me through the web.

While my niche is small, there are major companies in it. But my website usually ranks on pages 1–10 of search results for keywords.

How did WebFX perform from a project management standpoint?

I have a scheduled time when I talk with my contact from WebFX. She creates a monthly report that’s the basis of our discussion. We discuss our progress and performance. She makes recommendations, and we mutually come up with goals for the next month. 

WebFX’s also available to answer any questions throughout the month. They’re responsive. If I email them, I get a response within 1­–2 minutes.

What did you find most impressive about them?

WebFX took the time to know my business. They work intelligently to maximize the results of SEO campaigns for my particular business.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Over the course of about seven years, we’ve encountered opportunities for improvement. For example, I asked them for more feedback on campaigns at one point. That’s when we started the monthly chats. We also just implemented a system where they share action plans for the next month.

It’s important that WebFX understands your product to maximize results. They will learn your business, but they also need to know about it to start. It’s also important that you set goals.

What was the scope of their involvement?

WebFX did a full SEO audit and completely overhauled our website. They indexed pages, rewrote blog content to include our keywords, and redid images. The team redid the entire backend of our website so that it ranked higher and did better in search results.

Additionally, they carried out a PPC audit and redid it. They did new campaigns and reallocated our budget. The team basically started from scratch and improved our PPC spend.

How did you come to work with WebFX?

We vetted about fifteen different companies, including WebFX. They had a great website, services, and referrals. We met with them and realized that they had all of the services that we were looking for.

We also went to their offices, and we decided that they were the team that we were going to bring on as our partner. Our company puts a lot of interest and time into our culture, so we like to work with companies that do the same with their culture. 

We chose them not only because they offered what we needed, but also because they were an inspiration from a culture perspective.

We spend around $10,000 per month, which comes to about $120,000 per year. This cost doesn’t include our ad spend. We’re looking to add on services, so that amount may increase. This shows that we trust them with our money.

We began working with WebFX in April 2019, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Our SEO has been fantastic. We were really low for a while because, somehow, a lot of our pages had been unindexed, which is a major issue with SEO. Our visibility has doubled, and we’re getting a lot more views and interest. 

Our PPC is difficult in general because we only look at project sizes over a certain amount. We’re very particular about what we aim to get back. Nevertheless, WebFX is doing a really great job.

We have new campaigns, and they’ve allocated our budget differently. We’re doing better in that sense, but we’re not where we want to be just yet.

How did WebFX perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is on point. I work with them 2–3 times a week. We meet at least once a week, and they give us reports twice a month. We like working with Elisabeth because she’s very quick to respond, she's patient, and she fully explains everything to us. 

She’s very good at putting SEO and PPC in non-technical terms for us. She also keeps us in the loop about everything, so she’s great. The team is very adaptable, and I really enjoy working with them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

What distinguishes them from other service providers is that their website speaks informally as if they are a family, which is what we do. SEO and PPC are very data-driven, so a lot of companies are there for the numbers and statistics.

WebFX is not like that. They want to be a part of your company as opposed to being an additional third-party. They really work with you.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The only thing that we sometimes have issues with is timeframes. A lot of times we need things turned around quickly because that’s just how our business works. 

WebFX has become a much bigger company, so they use a ticket system, which isn’t always the fastest. Their lead times are sometimes a bit long, which is inconvenient because our industry moves quickly.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Ask questions because WebFX will answer any question. I made a list of two pages of questions before we began working together, and the team went through and answered every single one.

I am the marketing manager for Blackhawk Garage Door. We specialize in Clopay and C.H.I. garage doors as well as polyurea floor coatings.

What challenge were you trying to address with WebFX?

The website that we had wasn’t delivering what we needed. It wasn’t even coming up with analytics. We needed to incorporate all of our services into the site.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They created a mobile-friendly site. After designing and developing the site, we needed SEO work. They gave us a calendar that outlined what they were going to do. We did keyword phrase selection with them, they did competitor analysis, web server analysis, and reporting. Then they wrote copy and delivered metatags. They’re still working on long-form copy. They’re data-driven and are trying to get us more links. They also optimized our Googlebot.

We also had them work on our business listings; we moved and had two locations so that needed to be updated. They didn’t have the same name, either, so we had to do a little rebranding.

They also set us up on a few dashboards and kicked off call tracking. I get a report every day on our leads and how many people called via the site or sent in forms.

I had one main contact for the website development, Jason (Internet Marketing Analyst).

Then I worked with Kelsey (Internet Marketing Specialist), and she worked on SEO. She has been fantastic.

How did you come to work with WebFX?

I collected 4–5 different proposals. WebFX’s proposal was organized in a line-item format, so we knew what we were going to get and what it would cost. It was about 4–5 pages long and included the calendar.

How much have you invested with them?

The website was $2,000 and their SEO is $850 a month for a year (approximately $12,200 total). It’s extremely affordable.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in March 2020 and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The website is drop-dead gorgeous.

Once we started working on SEO, leads started to come in. We went up from 3 sales appointments per day to 6–7. Their reports help me track customer data.

Since they were able to set up Google Analytics, we’ve been able to identify where our customers are coming from, how old they are, what they’re looking at on our site, and their interests. Now I can develop a marketing campaign that will target the right people. I can also track where new developments are going up, which helps us pinpoint leads.

How did WebFX perform from a project management standpoint?

We made so many changes, and Jason was so patient and delivered right on time. It was like I was his only client, so their customer service is out of this world.

We have a Zoom meeting with Kelly every week and she presents what she has done. It’s like she never stops working.

No matter what needs to be done, or if I have questions, I can easily reach out to her.

I’ve never worked with another company that is as thorough, patient, friendly, or professional. They really know their stuff.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their communication, accountability, and their ability to deliver exactly what they promised. They’re very thorough. I really appreciate their reports, because not every agency offers that.

Are there any areas they could improve?

During the sales process, I understood their line by line items, but the owner of our company did not. For example, he didn’t know why keywords were important. It would have been helpful to have that explained for out general owner.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you need more people on your site and online store, they’re the company for you. They will make sure you’re getting more eyeballs on your site. If you have a beautiful site, but no one can see it, it’s not as useful. WebFX has the resources needed to bring in leads.

We’re an e-commerce company specializing in large appliances – heating and air in particular – and I’m the marketing director.

We launched a new website in the spring of 2018. We’ve attempted to optimize it as best we can for SEO purposes, but one area we wanted to focus on was getting backlinks. That’s really what pushed us to work with WebFX, as they have expertise in that area.

WebFX’s primary focus is on backlinks. There are ancillary benefits to working with them, such as that they’re great with content as well. They’ve also been able to help us with a few things on the website and optimizing it here and there.

What is the team composition?

We have a project manager that everything funnels through. We haven’t really interacted with anybody else on the team, but we haven’t had a need to.

How did you come to work with WebFX?

We looked at a number of companies that provide similar services, and WebFX seemed the most capable. They’d worked with some sites that we thought performed very well, and they made it easy.

How much have you invested with them?

We spend roughly $4,000 a month, so a total of around $35,000 in total so far.

What is the status of this engagement?

I believe the start date was October 2019, and it’s ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We definitely feel like our work with them has been worth it. We've seen significant increases and been rising in site authority. We mainly attribute this to some of the backlinks they’ve been able to develop, as well as a few things they helped us with that improved our overall ranking.

Our organic search results are way up, as are sessions, revenue, and transactions. Some of this gets muddy because all e-commerce has had a huge boost from the pandemic, so it’s hard to say what the attribute is for the March, April, and May data. We were seeing significant increases before COVID-19, as we’ve been improving our website steadily since it launched. We certainly attribute some of that to WebFX, but it’s hard to say how much, since the last couple of months have been so unusual. 

How did WebFX perform from a project management standpoint?

They’ve done really well. All of the content that they’ve talked about developing has come out on a pretty good schedule. There haven’t been any bottlenecks on their end, and nothing has been delayed because of anything they did.

We work on their Basecamp platform. We have a monthly meeting with our rep, and they send out a monthly report. My team can always refer to anything they’re doing via Basecamp, but our main touchpoints are the monthly meeting and report.

What did you find most impressive about them?

For us, it’s backlinks – they’re really hard to get and do right, but WebFX has been able to do it. It’s harder to get backlinks in an industry like ours.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, not that I know of. We have a number of in-house SEO pros that really understand SEO and SMM, but if you don’t have that, WebFX would be even more valuable. If you’re already outsourcing all of that to different companies, you could just get it all from WebFX.

Any advice for potential customers?

I would say to have a plan for what you want them to do. If your weak area is quality content, then they will modify their standard package to fit your needs. We’ve used them for some content, but overall, we already have a ton of content on our site, and we have a number of freelancers that we work with. We didn’t need as much content, so we asked them to focus on backlinks, and they have. Know where you need to go for your site, and then have them focus on those weak points.
