RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our attendee NPS (net promoter score) was an 80 which is very high for a first-time event. Many people reported it was the best virtual conference they are ever attended. Additionally, the company sponsor NPS was 79 and we hit our goals of exceeding 3,000 attendees.

Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?

They were very responsive, adaptive, and supportive. As this was the first time we were running this event, we had to revise a lot of timelines, ask for revisions on the content/scheduling, and the team was very accommodating. Delivered everything on time, if not early.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

I think what was most impressive was the overall support and production they were able to execute across a massive large event. We had 44 individual speakers and 2,300+ live attendees but the production was really smooth.

There was nothing they needed to improve on.

I’m the executive director of a group called the Climate Social Science Network (CSSN).

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with We & Goliath?

We co-organized a conference with a group called the German Development Institute. We were going to do a conference in person in Germany, but because of their COVID rules about limits on room capacity, we decided to do the conference online.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We hired We & Goliath to help us take the conference from in-person to online and to be our conference event organizer and host. They very quickly sprung into action to help us prepare for our conference. They led a series of preparation meetings, wherein we went through their checklist of all the decisions we had to make and steps we had to take to help our conference run smoothly.

Aside from that, they worked with us to develop social media-friendly marketing materials for publicity, including graphics that we could include in our Twitter postings or put on our website.

The most impressive thing they produced was a one-minute video, which they finished in just a week. They helped us write the script, found good images and music for the video, and did all the post-production work. The final video was very snappy, and we were able to use it to successfully publicize our event.

Finally, the We & Goliath team also set up virtual networking sessions at the end of the conferences.

We worked with six people from We & Goliath.

We spent around $30,000 in total.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from June 2022–July 2022.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The biggest measure of success for us was the 65% yield on the registrations we saw in our event. We were only expecting about 70 members of our organization to actually come to the meeting in person, but we ended up having about 700 people register for the event, with 400 of them actually attending at some point during the three days. The busiest session was probably almost 200 people in the room — 2–3 times as many as we would have ever gotten in person.

In terms of how We & Goliath ran the actual conference, there were always at least two people from We & Goliath in the background at all times. We're right on the ball with all the technical stuff that we needed to happen during the event, like switching spotlighting to different speakers and muting people that had their mics open. All in all, it was definitely a successful event for us.

How did We & Goliath perform from a project management standpoint?

We & Goliath did a great job in terms of project management. They were really responsive throughout the engagement. 

We communicated a lot through email, and we also had meetings over Zoom.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I found the We & Goliath team very agreeable, cheerful, and wanting to help. They worked very fast, seemed to really know their business, and never dropped the ball once.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, we have no complaints.

I’m the associate director of training at the Land Trust Alliance, an environmental nonprofit.

What challenge were you trying to address with We & Goliath?

We were conducting our annual conference virtually, and we needed assistance with the production, recording, and polishing of the event. 

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We & Goliath conducted training for our staff and speakers in preparation for the conference. They then provided support during the event. 

We & Goliath used Cadence to produce our conference. They assisted us with our pre-recorded sessions and helped us stream those into the platform and main stage plenary session. They supported close to half of our sessions. 

What is the team composition?

I mostly worked with two people. However, during the event, additional producers provided support.

Our engagement lasted from June–October 2021.

We & Goliath’s support made our speakers more comfortable at the conference’s backstage. They gave our event a more polished and professional feel. 

How did We & Goliath perform from a project management standpoint?

We & Goliath’s project management went well overall. They were very supportive — during the event, they made sure everything went as smoothly as possible. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

We were impressed with We & Goliath’s mission of working mainly for nonprofits, especially in the social justice and environmental space. Due to their experience, they knew what we were looking for.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We could have used more information upfront in terms of file type specifications. We experienced some bumps in the end because we created everything in the wrong format. We had to redo the files, which was time-consuming. That said, the engagement went well overall.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you have an additional budget, do some strategic planning or creative work with We & Goliath. They had a lot of great ideas, and we just didn’t have the time or money for further engagement.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We & Goliath's production quality was seamless and elevated the overall attendee experience. We received positive feedback from multiple attendees, and only about 5% of attendees faced issues. We also saw increased engagement and higher satisfaction.

How did We & Goliath perform from a project management standpoint?

We & Goliath delivered on time and seamlessly. We communicated via virtual meetings, emails, and messaging apps.

What did you find most impressive about them?

We had an excellent experience working with We & Goliath, particularly with Daniel and Jake (Producers). From start to finish, their team was highly organized, responsive, and deeply knowledgeable about both virtual production and live event execution.

Daniel and Jake were true partners — anticipating needs, offering thoughtful solutions, and keeping everything running smoothly under tight timelines. Their attention to detail, calm problem-solving approach, and clear communication gave our team complete confidence throughout the planning and execution process.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had one hiccup with the slides, but overall, there was nothing they could have improved on.

ICCR holds two conferences for our membership each year. Each conference includes three days of programming. The scope of working for We & Goliath included creating a conference website with registration capabilities. Our members would be able to register for our conference, and then would be led to the conference site, which held all the session information: titles, location, speakers, resources. 

During the week of the conference, We & Goliath was in charge of running the AV tech for the in-person event, as well as livestreaming the event to the virtual audience, and bringing in any virtual speakers for the in-person and virtual room.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Majority of our staff and membership expressed a smooth conference experience, from the registration process to the tech in-person. There were minimal glitches on the tech-end for the virtual experience, and virtual speakers were brought in with ease.

We had a call at the start of the project to map out the timeline, and they were effective in communicating their timeline and managing my needs.
