I just got into the coffee shop in December 2019, and I didn’t have any traffic or a website.

They developed my website and did postings on my Instagram and Facebook pages. They’d post 2-3 times a week.
I met with them and we talked about my business. We decided we needed more professional photos. I hired a professional photographer and he took pictures of before and after and Wax Creek used the new pictures for my website.

I met with Stephanie (Owner/CEO). She took all the information and made a plan of what needed to be done. I believe she did most of the work. I don’t know how many other people she had working with her.

After being closed for two months because of the COVID-19 pandemic, I met with someone at the bank who told me Wax Creek I immediately fell in love with their work. He connected me to them and we had a meeting with them. They came over to my coffee shop and we met for 1-2 hours. Stephanie noticed I didn’t have any traffic and she said she was going to help me build my website.

Once the guys from the bank talked to Wax Creek, they belong to this business network and they all got together and made a project called “Lifting up Locals” here in Denver. They picked my company to help me out. For 8 weeks, I received their services free of charge.

They developed an amazing website for me. It’s so modern and practical. My mind was blown away. It’s been very helpful. I now have a professional website. The website is easy to get to and it lists all of my products. I also have an e-commerce page where I can sell my retail coffee. With COVID-19, not too many people want to go out and have a cup of coffee but they still have the need to buy coffee for their house. Now that Wax Creek built the website with the e-commerce page, I’ve been able to sell coffee online.
How did Wax Creek perform from a project management standpoint?
I met with them once a week for the first three weeks. After that, it was every other week just to make sure everyone was on the same page. They went above and beyond. The first time I met with them, Stephanie gave me the plan she felt would be a good fit, I was very impressed because she even took into consideration everything I’d said, even my favorite color. They did an amazing job.

They’re very professional but down to earth. They’re very kind. They sit down with you and listen to your needs. They put everything into perspective to improve your business.

Once I decided I wanted to work with Wax Creek, I received an email with a Branding Questionnaire and Archetype Assessment that I was asked to fill out and return.
As I was filling it out, it became more and more apparent to me that I needed this Strategy Session more than I knew. To prepare for the Session, I was asked to get a good night's sleep, and that everything I needed would be supplied to me that day including lunch!
The day's agenda consisted of Stephanie going over my questionnaire and explaining in detail the four top archetypes that were revealed from my answers.
We discussed how those archetypes can be utilized in my vision statement and my service offerings, keeping in mind what I wanted my customer experience to be. The session was a fun, creative brain storming day! I left the strategy session feeling energized, in love with my brand again, and so excited to see what they would come up with.
The finished product was magical. They captured my culture and core values in my Brand and provided action steps for me to work on to improve the success of Keystone Gifts!?

Wax Creek held a four-hour-long brand strategy session that was informational. From there, they recapped all of the topics that we discussed in an organized fashion, which gave us a better understanding of what we want and how we want to move forward. The process helped us to get an idea for the overall tone, feeling, message, and vision of our company and its goals.

What was the scope of their involvement?
We started with the brand strategy, where they put together a whole package, including email marketing campaigns. They did some content writing for our website and gave us new wireframes and messaging for the website, as well as SEO with keyword research. They also helped me update the look and feel of the website and create a new layout with new content, images, and case studies.

They came recommended to me from other contacts that I had that worked with them before. I sat down with Stephanie (Owner) and really liked who she was a person.

Before their work, I had about 10 people per day on my website, and now I have about 100 visitors per day. Also, in the past, I didn't get much engagement on my newsletters and social media posts, and that has increased by 100%.

We had no missed deadlines and they were always on top of things.

Their brand strategy was amazing. Their team was really good at diving into our brand and they discovered a lot of things on the spot.

No, not really. I had a great experience working with them.

My advice is, even if you don't think you need a brand strategy, do it anyway. You will learn valuable things about your business that will help you in a lot more areas than just marketing.

I’m the owner of Colorado Child Care Substitutes. We’re a staffing company for early childcare schools and centers in our area.

What challenge were you trying to address with Wax Creek?
We had been in business for around five years and felt like we’d stalled a bit, so we hired Wax Creek to help give us a new direction for our newer staff. Recently, the laws had changed and so we needed to recreate materials to meet all of the new licensing requirements, too.

What was the scope of their involvement?
We started off with a rebranding effort. We went through a detailed questionnaire to get my understanding our who we are as a company, what our needs are, and where we came from. They spoke with everyone on our management team, too. From there, they gave us a new logo, business cards, flyers, and our rack card laying out job descriptions and positions. They edited and changed our materials to fit this newer brand image. Their team helped us set up new employee handbooks and produced materials that met the licensing requirements in Colorado.
Currently, we’re in the process of starting the web development portion of our project. They’ve updated and edited the site in the past, but they’re working to entirely recreate it.

They’ve been great in this area. We’ve been laidback about the process, but they still deliver in a timely manner and never delay anything. We work together and set appointments; everything is very prompt and meets our timeline.

Working with them helped remind us of who we are as a company, which is so important for all of us. Even though it only took a couple of hours, regaining that understanding of our roots in child care was very valuable. Also, I was pretty new to the rebranding field and Stephanie educated me on it in a great way, showing me why it’s important to have such a strong identity.
