This 20-second short video will be used on our website, Facebook, and Youtube to strengthen our brand awareness and engage fundraisers already running a Giving Day.

Verstinuk reached out to me on LinkedIn! We were not actively looking to create an animated video, but it was in the back of my mind that if my marketing budget allowed to move into video production for a few campaigns, we would. The timing of their outreach was right, and their portfolio of work was impressive.

The Verstinuk team was very upfront about pricing and provided a complete document walking me through the production process. I really appreciated the transparency up front! I knew exactly how many rounds of edits we would have at each stage (scriptwriting, mood board, storyboard, illustrations, animation, etc.) The whole process to make this 20-second short was 5 weeks from payment to final video in hand.

Their project managers were very quick to reply (always the same day) and with every round of edits, they understood exactly what I was looking to see in the next version and delivered what I was picturing.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We just completed this project and I expect it will integrate into our digital marketing brand awareness strategies seamlessly.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I think the collaboration was great! Whenever I couldn't get back to their team with feedback on a draft right away, they were always quick to check in the following day to keep the project top of mind. There were no Zoom or conference calls, everything was taken care of over email, and I think that process was the most effective because all notes and feedback were documented in our message thread and kept both teams on the same page.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Their project management is what led to the perfect end product. They clearly have creative minds on their team and impressed us right away how they took our script and made a story out of it through the visuals.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Because their company is based out of Ukraine, we ran into a high credit card payment fee.

Once we decided to work with this vendor they started to get to know our business and product. They wanted to understand the goals and purpose for the video. They worked closely with us to develop a script, storyboard and artwork. They kept the lines of communication open and were always open to feedback and our input during the process.

They assigned a project manager to us and used him as our main contact for all feedback and interactions. He managed us through each stage of the production process: scope, goals, script, artwork, rendering, voiceover, music and invoicing. He walked us through three rounds of drafts to ensure that the video was moving in the right direction.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our team is very happy with the video quality and content. We do not have any metrics yet but the video has received positive feedback after it was posted to our website and presented during our pitch presentations.

The project manager that we were assigned was very accessible and made communicating very easy. They kept the project moving along and on time by providing various updates and milestones as key parts of the video were completed. They included us in all the style choices and provided us with a user friendly tool to edit and provide detailed feedback screen by screen.

Their professionalism and organized approach to collaboration and video production impressed our team the most. The quality of the video and creativity they infused into the production while still staying within the constraints of the industry were very impressive. We would definitely recommend them to others and work with them on other projects.

We were looking to develop a couple of marketing videos to help communicate the benefits of our products to potential cutomers and partners. Being a very tech-focused company, we had the challenge to trying to simpfly our product messaging yet be able to showcase the unique capabilities. So we we needed help to take our product messaging and covert that into simple animated videos that would be engaging to our intended audience.

What were your goals for this project?

We were looking for build videos that we could use on our website, social media pages, as well in product demostrations and investor meetings to introduce our products to a general audience. Our hope is that this will help increase engagement on the website as well as other platforms.

How did you select this vendor?

My CMO approached a few firms that she had worked with in the past and so got referrals to a few firms from her network. We evaluated 4-5 companies. Main criteria in the decision making were

1. Speed of delivery
2. Quality of work as noted from examples provided
3. Pricing.

Our executive team (myself, CMO and CTO) were invovledin this process.

We worked on the development of 2 different product videos simultaneously with Verstiuk. The Verstiuk then broke down the process for us into a series of steps and asked for input from our team at each step.

My team developed the inital storyboards for each product and then passed it along to Verstiuk for modifications and incorporation into the production workflow. Verstiuk develop the breakdown of steps in the storyboard, voiceovers, moodboards, animation, and video creation.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

They had a project manager as well as a relationship manager who were our primary points of contact. They both remained in constant contact with our team throughout the process and were always responsive if we had any concerns or need to discuss anything.

As needed, during the various steps in the video creation process, they engaged with other team members but this was mostly transparent to us with the project manager being the main person we interacted with.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The videos developed are of very good quality and initial feedback from stakeholders that we have shown them to has been very positive. It is too early for us to point to tangible results but we will be tracking this going forward. The output we got is very much in line with our expectations for this project and so we are happy with the outcome.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

I thought the workflow was quite effective. They had a project manager assigned who was our main conduit to all the resources working on the project and help move the process along. The manager was always responsive and communicative and really helped not only get things one on their end but also in pushing us when we sometimes got sidetracked by other projects!

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They were a pleasure to work with. They were always on top of what needed to get done and I was pleased with the quality and timeliness of their work.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Some times given the time zome differences, it was harder to get their attention especially in the afternoons US time - which was not a big issue as they were always very responsive as soon as possible. However with an international set of customers, it might be interesting for them to explore ways to develop a bit more coverage in other time zones.

Since our collaboration with Verstiuk started, we’ve been able to take on 20% more projects thanks to their support and professionalism. They’re helpful in each stage of video production, suggesting solutions until a desired outcome is achieved.

I’m a co-founder of Kohorta, a nonprofit based in Canada. We have an educational website about the history of Ukraine.

What challenge were you trying to address with Verstiuk Production?

We needed a vivid animated video that concisely showed the history of Ukraine from the 9th century to present day. It all needed to fit within a four-minute video.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

We found out that people who live in Canada and the US aren’t knowledgeable about the history of Ukraine. They know a few things, but not the underlying causes. We decided to make a resource where people can read and learn about the events within 15 minutes. Verstiuk Production was involved in all aspects of production including sketches. Their team provided suggestions about graphics, music, voiceovers, and text. Their goal was to deliver the animated video.

We worked with three people who were involved in different aspects of the project.

Our team found a number of companies through Google. Someone told me about Verstiuk Production, and I was impressed with their portfolio. What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The impact the video will have will be significant. We believe that it will go viral, being shared by Ukrainians all around the world. Based on the work Verstiuk Production completed, we know that this is a possibility. We feel great about how the video looks.

How did Verstiuk Production perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management style was terrific. They delivered everything on time with no issues. Everyone involved in the production of the animation was on email 24/7. If I had changes, they would be done the next day. Working with Verstiuk Production was pleasant. I made a lot of requests and thought there would be problems, but their team had no attitude about anything.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Verstiuk Production’s professional and effective team displays a proactive attitude. They make changes when requested and suggest ways to improve the project. Verstiuk Production is passionate about their work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

There were a few minor mistakes. Sometimes I had to repeat directions. For example, I would give them a list of five, and they would only make three. This only happened once or twice, and they would fix it quickly.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Don’t be afraid to voice what you want. At first, we were shy to say everything because we were worried that we were bothering them too much with changes. That is how it all works though. Clients should make sure that they come forward with expectations right away and set a timeframe. Verstiuk Production excels with timing and finished the project when they promised. Constant communication makes a difference.

As the former head of a video production company, I’m familiar with many animators. However, I went with Verstiuk Production after stumbling across an animation that they completed for another client. I liked the styling, and when I reached out to their team, they offered a reasonable quote.

Verstiuk Production oversaw full-scale video production from start to finish. They drew storyboards by hand, managed the art direction and music choice, assisted me as I wrote the script, and organized the voiceover process. The team then animated the final product and delivered it as an MP4 file.

Our team created storyboards and had a good idea of what type of animation we were looking for. We gave this information to Verstiuk Production along with written requirements. They provided an outline of their design process before starting work. They also shared rough animations and images during each step of the design process. Once they completed the animation, it was edited into a larger video as part of our digital marketing campaign.

Verstiuk Production made it easy to tweak things as needed, without wasting hours on inadequate work. They did a good job of incorporating our feedback. That led to a successful project where both parties were happy with the end result.

The process was very professional, organized, and transparent. There was no confusion about timelines or deliverables. Ideas were communicated through email, and both parties were quick to respond. This resulted in timely updates and a seamless process.

Their quick response times and quality of work were so impressive. Verstiuk Production did their best to meet my standards of animation. They were willing to make any changes necessary until we were happy with the product.
