We needed engineering talent with experience with Python and React. We use an open source platform called Prowl with RapidAPI. It’s an older version and we were updating to a newer version with a React frontend. We needed another developer who could focus on Python on the new platform.

We have a team of engineers and have an ongoing project board in Asana, we use an agile process, and have everything ticketed and tracked in a system. So bringing on UVIK Software was very easy. We use Slack, Google Meet, and Asana to communicate.

Are there any areas they could improve?

They could always give me a lower price, but there isn’t really anything I think they need to improve.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Internal stakeholders explain their ideal product, and the team is responsible for technical implementation. So far, they’ve developed core features inside our product line, taking ownership of new capabilities that we’ve built on the mobile side. They work in a client-server infrastructure, with programmers working on our backend application server and Match Server technologies.

The team uses a Django Stack on Linux for backend development. On the frontend, developers add capabilities and feature sets to a React Native framework for both Android and iOS platforms.

The team is completely self-sufficient, and I haven’t needed to dedicate anyone to oversee them. They’ve become a mirror team to my developers in the US.

We communicate via Slack and Skype, meeting at least once-per-day to go over progress reports. They’re extremely responsive to feature requests, always finding the right specialist to work on a project. They’re always available for collaboration, and they offer valuable suggestions.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Disciplined and tenacious, the team has an excellent work ethic. Their ego never gets in the way of producing quality results. There has been no conflict whatsoever.

Are there any areas they could improve?

If anything, they could be more assertive about bringing forth project initiative ideas. They are excellent order takers, but I’d like to see more creative input. That would increase their value proposition even more.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

Future clients should be direct when communicating concrete goals. The team will put immense effort toward fulfilling those requirements. They are valuable employees, and clients should treat them as such.

We decided to go with Python Django when deciding how to build the backend of our platform. We hired UVIK Software to provide Python Django developers. It turns out that they also have frontend engineers, so we hired them to work in Angular 2 for the frontend. They’ll continue to provide support going forward because the ERP system needs constant development. There are additional features that we want to add in the future.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We're happy with their work. We've already cut some accounting expenses by using the ERP platform. The system has modules for finances, invoicing, and resource tracking. Automating those processes results in cutting costs. UVIK Software also created a cool dashboard so we can see the overall financial status of the organization. It's very important for me as a CEO to track all that information. Being able to see it online via the dashboard is so convenient.

UVIK Software is good at hitting deadlines, so the delivery is excellent. We're managing the project ourselves, but we’re in frequent communication with their developers. It’s important that the communication is smooth, and it’s really been perfect so far.

We didn’t want to hire good developers but rather exceptional ones. UVIK Software are rock stars. That's what differentiates them from other teams. We work in software development and see many good developers but few exceptional ones.

No, it’s been great. We have a good feeling when we work with them. They have an internal program of resource development, so they're constantly growing and getting better.

The project focused on integrating an AI-driven document analysis workflow into our existing SaaS platform. We already had an internal prototype, but it was too expensive, not reliable enough, and wasn’t designed for production traffic. Uvik Software came in and built the production-ready version of the feature. They designed the integration layer in our backend, implemented model routing and fallback logic, added caching and batching where it made sense, and set up monitoring around latency, cost, and output quality. They also made sure the feature worked well within our existing Python architecture rather than feeling like a separate experimental add-on. The key deliverables were a production-ready AI document analysis service, backend APIs for integrating it into the product, monitoring and alerting for runtime performance, cost controls, and a more stable processing workflow that our internal team could continue to support after launch.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

The feature was delivered to production in about 14 weeks, which was an important milestone for us in itself. After launch, we saw a meaningful improvement in both operational efficiency and product performance. Manual document review time dropped by 62%, customer activation improved by 28%, and average processing latency came in at 2.1 seconds per document, which kept us below our target threshold. Compared to our earlier internal prototype, API cost per document was reduced by 74%. The feature is now handling over 4,000 documents per day with 99.3% uptime, and support tickets related to document processing decreased by 41%. Those were the clearest indicators that this had become a viable production feature rather than just an interesting experiment.

Project management was solid throughout the engagement. The team was organized, responsive, and generally very clear about priorities, tradeoffs, and what was happening next. They delivered the main milestones on time and were good at adjusting when we needed to refine requirements or look more closely at edge cases. What I appreciated most was that they didn’t just say yes to everything blindly. When there were tradeoffs between quality, latency, and cost, they were willing to explain the implications and recommend the most practical approach. Communication was consistent, and they integrated well with our internal team rather than operating as a separate vendor silo.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

What impressed me most was their engineering discipline around AI work. A lot of teams can build something that looks good in a demo. Uvik Software focused on making the feature actually work in production. They paid attention to the parts that usually determine whether an AI feature succeeds or fails after launch: observability, fallback logic, runtime cost, system behavior under load, and how the feature fits into an existing backend. That made a big difference for us. I’d also say they brought a very pragmatic mindset. They were not trying to overcomplicate the solution or push unnecessary experimentation. They were focused on shipping something useful, stable, and economically viable.

Are there any areas for improvement or something Uvik Software could have done differently?

Overall, the engagement went very well. If I had to point to one area for improvement, I would say it would have been helpful to expand the edge-case evaluation set a bit earlier in the project. To their credit, once we raised that point, they responded quickly and built a stronger benchmarking and evaluation framework around those cases. So it was less a major issue and more something we refined together as the project progressed.

Overall, the engagement was very strong. The only minor issue was a short adjustment period around how architectural decisions were documented and communicated in our internal process. We raised it once, and they adapted quickly, so it did not become a recurring problem. Outside of that, there were no major concerns.
