I needed to recreate my software on a more modern platform. I needed my system to be able to replicate into thousands of websites while also being linked to various MLSs from various real estate boards. Additionally, we have a database of new construction projects and existing developments with floor plans that we needed to incorporate into the system.

What was the scope of their involvement?
They understood what I was trying to accomplish and built a system from the ground up. They did this by putting a team together that analyzed my business and then completed the project. Since completing the build, they have been providing ongoing support for maintenance and upgrades.
What is the team composition?
I had a project manager who met with us to analyze our business and plan how they were going to build the system. I then worked with two programmers in India who built the actual platform with the help of other team members I did not speak with, such as designers and data and server managers.

What challenge were you trying to address with Unified Infotech?
We were looking for an offshore partner to develop our UI and UX from the ground up, while faithfully reflecting our business model and requirements.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
This was a complete UI/UX development for our website. We work with a micro services-based architecture that leans heavily on Java and leverages Amazon Web Services. On the site, there is a portal where customers can upload documents, and then can back, at a later time, and look at their previous approvals that are now pending. It serves as a collection point or a list for everything. We’re definitely thinking about expanding the scope as well and adding new operational and backend development resources as well.
What is the team composition?
We’ve had the same project manager throughout the entire process who’s in charge of talking to their own resources and bringing the right resources to our calls.
How did you come to work with Unified Infotech?
We were looking at a couple companies in India but we wanted one with s strong word of mouth reputation. We didn’t want to spend a lot of time telling somebody exactly what we wanted, because with any UI or UX somebody out there will have a problem with it. I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Even if you put a blue color in, somebody will come back and want it changed to red.

We’ve been working together since 2017.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their quality has been good so far. There have been some occasions where they might have misunderstood our requirements, but you have to take into account everything that went into that product not quite being what we wanted. But that’s bound to happen sometimes in any project.
How did Unified Infotech perform from a project management standpoint?
We have an almost twice a week call with Unified about project requirements, progress, and feedback updates. We’ve worked together smoothly since their team hasn’t changed at all. We’ve used the same resources the entire project, so we haven’t had to waste time repeating the same thing over and over and over again. Yes, these things are documented, but it’s always better to have the same people committed to the project throughout its life.
Looking down on a project, there’s two key areas: communication and deliverables. In terms of communication, they’ve been very good. We use email as well as an issue tracking system. They’re really proactive in updating us if something isn’t going to be delivered on time, no matter the reason. We’ve fallen down there a couple times but it’s very had to point fingers, whether it’s a mistake on our part or on theirs. Regarding deliverables, they’ll deliver it on whatever timeline they promised. There was some slippage, but that was because of communications delays.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It’s definitely their project management, delivery, and communication that stands out to us.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There’ve been a couple of occasions where their understanding and then converting of our requirements into the UI screens could have been better. It’s really hard to pin it down whose side the blame rests on though. I think those things are getting better now. The more and more development they’re doing, the more their understanding is improving.
Any advice for potential customers?
I think it all boils down to documenting and communicating well, which is the same thing I’d say for any offshore project. Immediate follow-up with meeting minutes is also really important. Finding the right balance of extensive documentation and the time and resources that providing them requires is an obvious struggle.

I first contacted them to help me build an independent web application.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our first web application was an independent side project but it impressed other people in the medical industry and led to more work. For that project, I submitted wireframes and business logic and they oversaw the site design, backend coding in PHP, and frontend engineering. They also did testing and a little content work. The whole project was customized and had a lot of features. We had an in-app messaging system, a place to leave reviews, and a formula to determine user compatibility.
The next thing we created was more complex. We built cloud software for electronic medical record keeping at pain management clinics. The state has to approve form submissions for medical marijuana certification. We built the app to take applicant data from a database and apply it to a PDF copy of the form. All that information is then saved on the backend as a retrievable document. The app saves time and paper and includes other helpful features for doctors.
Our third project involved an MLS for real estate. There was a lot of backend coding and was surprisingly complicated. It was one of the largest projects we worked on and involved a lot of data.
What is the team composition?
Saptarshi (COO, Unified Infotech) has been my principal point of contact since I originally found them on Upwork. I speak with him whenever a new opportunity pops up. I also interface pretty regularly with one of their developers and a few of their designers. There are also a few individuals who specialize in backend web application coding. We also have a server administrator for the site and our cloud services.

One doctor recently reported his patient processing was twice as fast as when he had to fill out paper forms and file them. The third project Unified helped with has over 700 paying customers who each pay $40–$50 a month, which is a great gain.
How did Unified Infotech perform from a project management standpoint?
I engaged them occasionally for project management, but mostly for little things. They always did really well with management. As far as their other abilities, there’s no comparison to other companies I’ve worked with. They’re the most competent agency I’ve ever worked with. They’re good at figuring out the background of a project and they deliver.

They did an amazing job with the electronic medical records. They tested everything before they put it up and the design was beautiful. They’re amazingly talented and did well with complex projects.

The only improvement would be a more specific payment schedule laid out ahead of the project. Other than that, I have only good things to say about them.

I’m the CEO of a restaurant marketing company. We help restaurants in Brazil to manage their business with the opinions of their clients. We survey using an app, sending links to the customers to review restaurants. We also do online consulting and provide reports and dashboards for our clients.

We had several meetings via Skype and telephone. We never had issues with availability and they listened closely to figure out exactly what we wanted and meet the deadline. Though we lacked technical knowledge and it was a complicated task, Unified Infotech took the time to explain and provide ideas.
They helped us when a previous development team had failed on the project. Their organization and attentiveness helped us make up development time and we got much closer to our original launch timeline.
