I’m the finance manager at Optimal Connectivity LLC, an optimal connectivity solution company. We do fiber optics, radio frequency, and low-frequency manufacturing. We have an extensive customer base and 12,000 products; many of them are variants of each other.

From the beginning, it was important to have a proper ERP system where we could log all the changes, load multiple products, and maintain our CRM, accounting, purchases, and so on. On top of that, we had to manage work orders and track the quality.
We’d been using Odoo since 2012; we were one of the first companies in UA to use it. We chose Odoo because it was a sound ERP system for a good price. It was a free license at the time, and we were doing our own configurations. When it became commercial, the configurations increased. We needed to do some modifications, but we couldn’t do them, so we needed to outsource the work.
We’d changed from version 11 to 12, and our reports weren’t coming in the required format. We couldn’t solve that issue with the programmer we were working with at the time.
SOLUTION
What was the scope of their involvement?
Initially, we told Uncanny Consulting Services LLP the report format we wanted. They’ve helped with a large modification and designed a custom module that adapts with every version change. It automatically gives an alarm that it’ll be upgraded. Since 2019, they’ve helped us move from version to version; we’re currently on version 14.
They’ve also helped us with many other modifications and improvements on our manufacturing module. We’ve had some changes in our products and contact list. In the UA, we have PO box numbers, not street names. However, the standard Odoo doesn’t come with that. Therefore, we purchased a module that helps modify these fields, but it wasn't working correctly. Uncanny Consulting Services LLP advised us that it’d be cheaper to go with the custom module they made for us.
Additionally, we had Odoo locally installed on a server in our office. However, it was expensive to have our own server; we had to upgrade it every year. They’ve motivated us to move to SSH and cloud solutions, showing us everything and doing it for free.

The scope changes over time depending on the project. We have had them implement many different types of projects, covering sales, manufacturing, and inventory control. Any bugs or misunderstandings are then quickly round and removed after our testing.

I’m the owner of Audinc. We make customized hearing protection for any type of use — industrial, music, communication, and so on. We do all of our manufacturing by 3D printing. We are located in the Netherlands and currently provide services to Belgium and Germany as well.

We had a lot of different systems and programs — invoicing, shipment, production, and printing. None of them were connected to each other, so we were doing double or triple work. As we grew, it became way too much. We wanted a program that combined all those systems.
It was hard because we’re a very niche market, and our software and products aren’t very common, so it was a big challenge.

What was the scope of their involvement?
We knew which open-source ERP system we wanted to implement, so I came to Uncanny Consulting Services LLP (Uncanny) with that intent. They developed everything from scratch and provided all of the software customization, so there was a lot of work.
Since I’m not a developer, I just explained the work overview; I created a work document to present the company, our production process, and the services for our clients. I put a lot of screens from the programs and all the different kinds of steps. They gave us advice and created the project from there. We arranged a time schedule, moving on from one task to another, and so forth.

Every aspect of production has improved with their system. Feedback has been positive because everything is now combined, so customers can see their orders. Thus, there have been fewer calls because people know when their order will arrive and in which production step it is. It brings less pressure and more clarity to both customers and production engineers.

All the work has been remote because they’re from India. We use Trello to track the progress of the project; I can see which step is in process, which one I need to check, and which hasn’t started. Everything is clear and updated.
We mostly communicate through Skype; they show us what they’ve done and we review it together.

If I need to compare them with the best developers, I’d say it’s that they write very clean code. They’re very professional; they know what they’re doing. The owner is very responsive; I normally call him. Also, transparency has been very important, especially since this company is so far away from us.
Are there any areas they could improve?
In the beginning, there were a few times where I asked them to do something over the weekend. Now, if I think about it, I understand that they didn’t want to work on Saturdays and Sundays, but they had said they would do it, so I was expecting jobs to be done by Monday. This happened a few times, so they should be clear about it to customers because we expect certain things to be done even if it’s the weekend.

We did frequent testing of website and app, all the issue regarding maintenance, OTP, payment etc were resolved with their support.

Definitely, we are satisfied with the promptness that Jigar works, his team is one of the best teams I can say that , Jigar always took calls even at late nights. They took their time to understand our needs but once that was out of the picture, resolution was always swift

My client is in business of interior designing and furniture manufacturing. They were seeking help in term of their work process improvement and optimization.
I consulted them to implement an Odoo ERP, which can be highly customised to their business needs.
I hired uncanny, who helped for the requirement gathering and defining the workflow. Their experience in the manufacturing domain helped me and the end client a lot.
They created the workflow documents and an entire workflow bible which were the basis for the process improvisation.
while the client was also selling the furniture online, Uncanny developed the Shopify store which integrated with the Odoo ERP for seamless business execution. They even helped us by eliminating Quickbooks and we moved to Accounting module of Odoo.

The team utilized Odoo's Project Management tool, Slack, and WhatsApp for streamlined collaboration. Additionally, they made themselves available during EST morning hours to provide progress updates and actively participate in brainstorming sessions.
